    Another great one, I took a bunch of notes. I asked you last week, how should I be spending my sales time (cold calling/email/etc) and you said MARKETING, this is a perfect follow-up and timing to my question and with the details on how to DO IT. Thanks again!

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome hustle. As with most of my videos they are about mindset and strategy more than skillsets. There is plenty of content on how to do, but not much on why and what to do.

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thomas Ulibarri I don’t understand your question.

    • @TJ-eb9ex
      @TJ-eb9ex 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TimConley Apologies.
      I'll clarify my question.
      I'm an introvert myself and don't really feel like going out to networking events to shake hands with everyone I come across. It's draining and I'm sure you can relate.
      So for clients to find me in this space.
      I could do SEO and drive them back to my content (blog posts) on my website.
      Or I could pay for traffic and lead them to a white label in order for them to book an appointment with me for a free consultation.
      Do you prefer one over the other?
      And I've also had experience interviewing entrepreneurs in the past, do you think there's any value in publishing interviews on a blog with business owners/entrepreneurs to be seen as an authority to work with?

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes to all those. They are not either/or. They are 'and.'

    Would you recommend using the 2-step ad campaign if the goal is to do market research and find pains in a market? In that case, the challenge would be figuring out what to offer them as a freebie.

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. I've never done it, but market research is advertised a lot. 2. If targeted and seen as important, the results of the market research in the form of a report is usually good enough.

  • @TiagoFariapt
    @TiagoFariapt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    100% the Facebook ad > free report > thank you page works wonders! :) Only missing the live speaking events... Have been postponing it for being an introvert as well... But Miles has been pushing so hard on me (and now you) that I guess it has to be done! :)

    Tim, if the market for my niche is really small (just local crim def attys - prob no more than 500 potential clients total) is it better for me to focus on sales over marketing? I enjoy both, and I would be into an online presence, but I’m not sure I can see it as being more effective than just trying to directly network to those ~500 ppl. Should I just save marketing for possibly larger markets down the road, or would you still recommend it for someone like me?

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris H really good question. When your entire market is 500 people you only NEED sales. But marketing to those 500 will build your authority and increase their awareness of you.
      So when you are competing with others, your ideal clients will choose you because they “know” you.
      People who need to break into old boys networks where all deals are relationship based, need to add marketing along side their sales and networking activities.
      When at a luncheon or charity golf event to network, having someone recognize your name or face when you introduce yourself is a massive power play.

    Very valuable again. Love your content.
    May I ask you for your coaching engagements, who is your ideal client?
    Do you have recommendations of mentors/consultants for agency owners at the beginning stage?

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you like my training. When you say "beginning stage," what do you mean? Do you mean you are an expert at solving some problem, but are just beginning as an entrepreneur? Or do you mean that you are just beginning to learn a valuable skill?

    • @123MarcosoPolo
      @123MarcosoPolo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TimConley Thanks for getting back! I mean getting the first client - level zero. Regarding the skill set, I do have beginner-intermediate experience in the skill sets I'm offering (PPC & LPO), but a strong fulfillment partner in my back.
      For starting off from zero to one - would you recommend coaching/mentor engagements? Or, would it be better to just focus all concentration on getting a continuous cashflow going and then later re-invest to get onto higher levels of the business?
      Thank you

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question about coaching. When you're just getting started there is only one thing to focus on and that's getting clients. No coach will help you achieve that. You might need to get sales training or do continuing education in your specialty, but that isn't the same as hiring a coach. Finding mentors is smart though. Don't confuse a coach with a mentor. Coaches are selling a service (including me) and mentors are giving their time. If someone is charging you for mentorship then he's a coach not a mentor.
      Buying some education can make sense in the beginning, but coaching doesn't.
