Ohhhh, my lord - Carl I wad just thinking the same ....Tim where have you been, thinking you never had anything to offer via video - glad Miles got you moving forward on your YT .. .i am loving this! Watching your videos back to back right now!
I always tend to watch small channels grow from a few hundred to thousands. I see your channel Tim very soon with 1.5 #Million or something like that. And you deserve it, Tim. Regards
I've listened to your advice as soon as corona fearmongering started. In the past 10-11 months we created 7 virtual restaurants, because we saw that big logistics players invested in food-delivery apps. Here where I live (Bosnia & Herzegowina) the food-ordering apps exploded and we helped established and (even more) new brands to adopt these apps. Not only did we advice our clients to create virtual restaurants/brands for each type of food, but we also designed their whole identity, created long-term strategies and did many launch campaigns building awareness and getting costumers to try out. Now, that food-app industry is only a year old here but we're already seen as experts for launching such brands. A trendy niche that we picked and thank God we had great timing and amazing first adopters. And clients are happy that they created multiple brands for each type of food, instead of selling everything under one name.
Man, i've been watching many many people on TH-cam for my SMMA agency in France, but what you said in this video is just incredible, i've launched my SMMA agency last summer, i wasnt in any specific niche. I was thinking which one should i choose, you POINTED exactly those who we should work with. Thank you man
So in other words, manufacturers and distributors need help transforming their businesses into hybrid "manufacturer-retailer" and "distributor-retailer" business models? If so, and their end products are meant for the average consumer, I am guessing that they will need ecommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, etc.) and PPC. And if so, Amazon might actually be a good channel for them, even considering the costs.
For many manufacturers this is true. There are a whole lot of people still in the middle of buyers and manufacturers and they need marketing and advertising, too.
I come from Vietnam and I just started my own agency media bussiness . I really love your videos. I am trying to build a company based on the christianity faith. Thank you so much.
Do you have a reference point/examples of where to search for manufacturers/distributors to work with? This seems more logical to work with as you explained better than picking a niche out of a hat.
Can we get real for a moment? If not, don't read the rest of this comment. You know I do my best to answer questions so please don't take this as an insult. The following is designed to help you focus. . . This question is easily answered with a google search. Since you're asking, it tells me that you are reaching far from your domain knowledge. There's nothing wrong with reaching beyond your domain knowledge, but it does mean you need to get serious about educating yourself. Or maybe you are procrastinating or feel if you ask enough people like me and Miles about stuff, you'll have sufficient permission to pursue your path. I don't know why you ask me and Miles the same questions multiple times, but you need to ask yourself why you are. Go become an expert copywriter. Go learn the business of copywriting from professional copywriters (neither Miles nor I are). In the process of becoming an expert copywriter you will find your target market. A friend of mine set out to become a growth hacker for startups and ended up writing sales letters for financial newsletters. How you start is not where you'll end up. The process of becoming is what you need to focus on. If you don't know what market, niche or industry is right for you, then any of them will be sufficient for you to educate yourself inside one or more of them until you're an expert. Again, I don't say this to insult or demean you. I say it because I really want you to succeed.
Interesting for sure. So you're saying we should help wholesalers start selling directly to the consumer because that would give them way bigger margins and because of the internet it's actually possible now for them to do this with things like fb & google ads and they could get rid of the retailers over time? But I would assume they don't have the systems in place to handle like thousands of orders from consumers because their systems are designed to take care of large volumes? Can you elaborate why exactly the internet is eating the wholesalers margins? Is it because most of these products are a race to the bottom and now there's all this dropshipping stuff from china undercutting prices? Or are there other reasons?
Kilian the internet has made it possible to manufacture a product and sell it directly to consumers. Anyone not playing that game is going to lose. Distributors must become a consumer-centric brand or the manufacturers and retailers will continue to bypass them. Retailers have to become great brands to keep attracting customers or they will lose to platforms like Amazon
Definitely manufacturers, but also the other businesses that serve the "retail" businesses all the gurus say to go after. Don't try to get a cosmetic surgeon as a client. Get the medical equipment company that is trying to sell to the cosmetic surgeons.
Hey Tim I'm working with a construction company right now who is looking to attract more property managers as clients. Is there some sort of best practice you know of to do this? I was simply gonna try out some ads on Facebook targeting property management or something similar but wanted to see if you had any input on this. Thanks
When you say "try out some ads" do you mean using lead forms with your ads, sending to a landing page, or something else? One of the things we have found is that most people who work in property management use a personal email to sign up for facebook so it's difficult to build the audience. You are likely to need to build your audience more manually. You're also likely to need to engage with property managers directly to get the best results. LinkedIn is perfect for this.
@@TimConley yeah it would be to a landing page promoting a free on-site consultation so basically a team member will go out to one of their properties and tell them exactly what they need. The company is focusing on becoming a "one stop" for property managers that does all the work they need for their commercial buildings.
Hope you see this message, based on this video my question is should I go for suppliers of cosmetic surgery products rather than cosmetic surgeon clinics? Is that a good example of your video?
Tim, this video really inspired an ad campaign for me. Would love to send you some copy on it to get your thoughts. Couldn't find you on instagram, let me know how I can contact you if that's kosher. Thanks for the content!
Thanks for watching. No offense, but sending me your copy sounds like unpaid work to me. Also, I don’t write or edit copy for clients anymore-haven’t in 10 years. You would be better served by working with a copywriter. I’ve heard good things about CopyChief.
I have not done a follow up yet. I'm waiting to see how things play out. We've gotten a boost in sales from it, but that is an unusual outcome for a marketing company. That's why I'm waiting to see how construction is effected. Construction tends to lag market changes as projects that were planned and funded continue. It's new construction projects that don't get planned and funded now that won't get built in the near future that is likely to effect our sales.
@@TimConley so curious about how this has played out for you now in Sep 2021! I can finally bring myself to buy an entire bunk of osb again...the price per 4x8 sheet a year ago was $52. Just a week ago it was down to $15. But even in the last week with the recent flooding its back up to $18! Construction industry, very dependent on commodity prices!
A contacting the owner of a very small business is really easy. You also can't make much money. Reaching the owner or CEO of a $10 million company is not very difficult. It will take some work, but you can earn 10 or 20 times what you could earn from a tiny business. Getting in contact with the CEO of a $100 million or more company might prove difficult, but you could earn 100 times or more what you could from a tiny business. So you could choose to do the "easy" thing and compete for the attention of a tiny business owner who has thousands of digital marketers contacting every year or you could work a little harder and greatly reduce your competition.
