    That is the best explanation/demonstration of this outboard function. It seems there are so many different theories floating around, you don't know which one to believe. This backs up what Yamaha recommends doing. Thanks.

    Fantastic explanation, Yamaha should be showing this to provide a clear insight into why this works👍🇦🇺

    That makes a lot of sense. Hope you saw my other " comment " where I included a question for you pertaining to running my motor. Thanks, Steve

    Excellent video.
    I have 2 questions.
    #1 Does this increasing water pressure from the impeller and subsequent filling of the engine block cooling explain why there is a few minutes delay in water exiting the tell tale ( pee hole) when I use flush muffs on the lower unit? On my 2016 Yamaha 150 it makes me nervous that it takes so long (2 minutes or so) to show from the pee hole. I have often have to duct tape some of the lower unit holes to get water pressure up. I do have good garden hose pressure.
    Question #2 : Is there an optimum trim angle the motor should be at for flushing using either muffs or thee top rinse port.
    Thanks again for a pair of excellent videos on this subject.

    Great video and explanation. So the indicator flow (pee hole) discharges after flowing through the block? If so, this would mean that if your engine was overheating, the pee water would be hot too?

    Cuánto lamento que usted no viva en Massachusetts o New Jersey o New Hampshire! Me encantaría presentarle mi caso, pero creo que no será posible. Comencé a ver sus videos anoche, y no he podido dejar de verlos. Su gran experiencia lo corona de erudito en la materia, pero más me impresiona las joyas de su corona que son su amabilidad, paciencia y gran sencillez que lo hacen ser una persona que todos quisieran ser su amigo. Desde ahora cuente con este amigo, y si alguna vez viene a Massachusetts, contácteme para recibirle en mi casa. Que tenga un Bonito dia!

      Estimado Elias, sus palabras de amabilidad me dan motivación y ánimo, y aunque no estoy seguro de merecer tanta bondad, muestra su gentileza y su gran habito de cortesía. De verdad gracias, gracias 👍. Si esta a su alcance por favor coménteme su caso cualquiera sea y si está a mi alcance cuente con mi ayuda. Mil gracias por participar en el canal y esperando su pronta respuesta.

    With the engine running the water pump might be pumping air into the system and maybe that's why Yamaha says to not run the engine on the flush fitting. It would be an interesting experiment to remove the thermostat and see if you get air bubbles coming out instead of a solid stream of water.

    • @us4marine
      @us4marine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Donzy, done that many times, with single and dual thermostats motors. The water volume is constant and solid, thank you for your suggestion, I will include this small test in my next video. Thank you so much for watching.

    Perfect explanation. Do you recommend using a salt disolving product for this type of flush? Do you have a preference to which salt dissolving product is best in your opinion?

    • @us4marine
      @us4marine  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do recommend it, but don’t really have a preference on one. Thank you so much for your positive feed back, it helps me and the channel a whole lot. Take care.

    hello and thank you for your precise explanations :)
    can you tell us if there is a recommendation when flushing the engine on the trim position? Should it be preferable to keep the trim low or in the maximum high position and take the propeller out of the water at the dock?
    Is it also necessary or recommended during each use in salt water to add an anti-salt additive during rinsing with an automix?
    I have a Yamaha F150 and I would like to have your precious opinion

    Hi Pete.
    I need your advice again. I flushed my murcury 450r engine's after taking the boat out of the water for a mouth.. now I'm getting water coming from the flushing cap.. there are 2 small holes on the flushing cap, and now i have warer coming from the flushing cap. Its never happened before any idea 💡 please 🙏

    • @us4marine
      @us4marine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Speraindeo, it’s happened to me a few times, remember when water is connected to the lower unit water intake, there's flow of water everywhere, even on the flushing cap. In my case it ended up being a faulty cap. I tried everything, replacing the “O” ring and try to make it tighter, but it only stopped when replacing the cap.
      Hope this helps. Thank you and take care.👍🏻

      Hi Pete.
      Thanks again for your reply.. it's much appreciated.. I will order a few new caps.. it's never happened before, so I was a bit worried about it.. but yet again, your knowledge is much appreciated.. if anyone knows.. it's you.. keep up the good work 👏

    Saludos tengo una duda puedo hacer flushing por los dos lados al mismo tiempo con el motor encendido me refiero con las orejas en lower unit y en el conector arriba ?

    • @us4marine
      @us4marine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hola Boris, esa seria la manera mas perfecta de hacer flushing con el motor encendido, de esta manera lo puedes tener encendido el tiempo que quieras sin ningún tipo de problema. Gracias por participar, Un gran saludo. 👍🏻

    Why can't i get that steel ring and plastic cup back on the shaft to rest on top of the water pump housing resting on those washers? It breaks every time i try to get it on the shaft

    • @us4marine
      @us4marine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rob, As I read you comment, it literally says your attempting to install the plastic collar and steel ring ON TOP OF THE WATER PUMP HOUSING????? They go in this in order : 1)Impeller, 2) flat washer, wave washer, flat washer. 3) plastic collar. 4) steel ring. 5) pump housing. The plastic ring has a cut to help it through the drive shaft on its way down, if it breaks while sliding down is only because it was already cracked or too bridle. The steel ring shouldn’t be an issue for is made to the right diameter to fall down almost on its own. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching

    I have a question? In the manual it says not to run it this way so whats the reason ?

    • @us4marine
      @us4marine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aldo, As I said in the video repeatedly, I couldn’t really give you a logical answer unless is purely protection to their product's warranty from a bunch of dumb heads trying to throttle up their motors wide open while flushing. lol
      Thank you for watching.

    Pete mi motor Yamaha 4 tiempo 2005 cuando lo voy le conecto la manga de agua apagado no bota agua por el agujero eso es normal porq en el agua bota no con mucha precio pero bota el chorro de agua

    • @us4marine
      @us4marine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi my friend Rene. En tu motor es common que a veces no bote aqua por el indicator de estribor debido a la alta capacidad de agua del bloque la presión es muy baja. Intenta conectar el agua en el adaptador de arriba y una vez que el bloque este lleno de agua, cambialo al de abajo de la pata.
      Una vez en el agua la presión de salida de el indicador es muy baja eso es normal en esos motores.
      Un saludo amigo,. espero te resulte.
      Caudate 👍🏻
