    Lishis are great for showing the jiggle test. I haven't used one for Masterlocks but heard they are tricky to use due to the poor tolerances in the lock.

    • @doorandlocktips
      @doorandlocktips  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, that jiggle test. If you do it right with the Master Lock I’ve got a little picking short in the back of one of my videos coming up the videos gonna be called rebuilding a Medeco lock and I picked through a Master Lock in the back at the end in about 30 seconds, once you get down the jiggle test all thelocks become simple err error errors

    Nice job! I like to pre tap on each cylinder to test for if it’s ready to be picked. I find if I tap and then feel for if it’s ready to be picked if it’s a shallow cut like that 6 it will tap it right into position and you’ll feel the springiness right away instead of accidentally picking past it. Just another tip to add to the collection. I know every lock acts differently. This was a quick one though, nice job!

      Yeah, so I was watching another TH-camr that is really good at lock Picking I mean really good and he has been playing around with lishi lockpicks and what he discovered has been obvious, but I missed it after the pin is picked you can bounce the tip of that pick And if you can’t bounce it then it’s not picked. It’s so obvious I can’t hardly believe it and it works. PS I’m going to start showing 5 to 6 minute videos using those lishi picks the launch for community eats it up I mean really eats it up and I’m going to start doing that. It’s kind of the meat and potatoes of Lockport. The other videos are just substance, but the community only finds you if you offer them candy.😢⚖️👁️🥴

    I love Lock picking especially with Lishi M1 lock pick it’s fabulous very strong and easy to use and best of all. I guess I should say the tip is for the day each Pin that you pick you should have some spring on top of it. If you don’t it’s not pick I learned the hard way on this so as you’re picking feel for the spring after it’s clicked if it doesn’t spring a little bit it’s not or picked or is overset

    I've found those M1 Lishis more tricky to operate and inconsistent than others, like the AM5 or SC4; or I should clarify, it's the not the actual Lishi tools themselves that are tricky, it's the mushy, spongy, poor feedback nature of Master Locks that makes them tricky. Honestly I often do better with a normal short hook on those.
    One thing that'll help to get a new picker more familiar with the Lishi -esp on a ML- is to also keep a decoder card on hand for the key; as you just showed, pre-knowing where the pick should fall on each pin can help the picker new to Lishis - theoretically anyway - learn to differentiate the feel of a good click from a 'bad' (usually overset) click by knowing where the good click should happen. To do this of course they'd also have to make some bad clicks first to learn how those feel, so no pulling out the decoder card right away, start off blind.
    And, I'd suggest doing this only for starting out, it's no fun if you rely on too many crutches for any length of time. It's more fun (and skillful) if you don't know what the bitting is.

Nice answer thank you for your comment. It’s good to hear from someone in the biz. TH-cam depends on a knowledge base such as you have. Thanks again.

      These are beautiful rock solid devices much better than any handpick on the market. You will love them, and if you treat them nicely and follow my directions in my other videos, they should last indefinitely don’t buy used by New. Be careful with them. Make sure you always lubricate your cylinder and you will have more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

      Hi there, no there is no other lishi M1 lock pick for 6 pin mater padlock cylinder The reason being master Lock has stopped making the 5 pin key. They still make the 5 pin cylinder, but they only pin it up 4

      I did find a workaround key that works perfect in the M1 keyway and the key is a five pin key. It’s the only key in the world because master lock let us down again.

Lishi lock picks at reasonable price. Everything is extremely expensive unless you get a knock off. Lish and there seems to be many of those. I find the M1 Lishi as almost useless as the worst of ALL Lishis as far as picking, Every other non automotive Lishi I have works perfectly and I've even been able to pick Best A keyway in 5 and 6 pin to control, so I know well how to use Lishis. Don't know what it is about the M1 Lishi, but it's easier to just SPP or Rake 4 pin Master open and use Lishi to measure and then code cut key

      @doorandlocktips to be honest I've Lishi picked to Control my rare 4 pin Best, as well as 5 and 6 pin in order to make Control key. BUT still doesn't explain why M1 Lishi is so terrible at picking Master padlocks

      @doorandlocktips  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Pyrolock it’s fun to have all these tools at our beck and call all we have to do is take them out and use them. I recently found a Klein screwdriver suggested to me by one of my subscribers. I’m loving that thing it feels good in my hand and looks good on the video, and I know it has its drawbacks but all in all I love it👍🥰😍😉 sometimes it’s more than the use. It’s the overall appeal to the audience, some of the highest rated videos in the industry of TH-cam surround that little jewel of an invention. Lishi I love that thing in every flavor something about it. It’s just inspiring to be able to use something like that.

    • @LockSpaz
      @LockSpaz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed. I've had the same experience. But it's not the Lishi .. it's the lock. Master Locks are notoriously mushy and spongy feeling, and sloppily milled to boot. That all serves to deaden the feedback or give confusing feedback.

    • @doorandlocktips
      @doorandlocktips  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @LockSpaz I kinda like all those problems it feels as if they were made to give a hard time to the average picker. What’s cool about the lock is that the cylinder can be pinned with an additional five pins using the key that I suggested in my community post
