I had thoughts about it. The issue I have is will it take if no tilled into the grass. I can’t ever rip up the fields. They have always been hay Fields and have never seen a rock picker. It’s hard ground along a shale ridge.
PA Farms you're right, it won't take that way. The best way for you would be to spray the grass dead, then disk it lightly, then drill the alfalfa with a no till seeder.
I'm the same as you with diesel fuel. My tractor is an old gas Oliver, but my pickup is a 7.3 PSD Ford. Every tank since I've bought that truck 6 or so years ago I've put Diesel Kleen lubricity additive through it. And also I try to run a quart of two stroke oil through ever tank as well. I want those injectors very happy with how much they cost! lol
Liquid nitrogen might be something I do in the future. I can’t remember but do you have quick t jet nozzles on your sprayer if you do how do you like them?
Yea I’m guessing they are priced to be throw away pumps. If the thing cost $240. The pump part is almost $200? So they really aren’t always economical to fix
I put my tank up on several pallets high so I can gravity feed in the tank. No pump needed. You have a bank there, level off a spot higher than the sprayer a your in business.
Yea that would be the best set up to gravity feed it. I used my pump for other jobs too so I have it anyway. Also I’m not sure if the landlord would let me excavate a spot. Maybe someday it will be an option
I checked today and I did have a little burn. I was looking at a few different nozzles to do this, but I just never bought any. I have been wanting to upgrade in sprayer and I didn’t want to buy nozzles that may not work in a different sprayer.
Good day I think at around 14 you said 7 or 8 of March i think lol But I have loader on 574, your tractor seems light. I guess my would be to. How expensive is a gallon of nitrogen Thanks
Can't you fill the sprayer with its own pump ?
No I have no way to get suction. I suppose I could plum it in.
Have you thought about spending the cost of buying a pump to build a tank rack to allow the solution to gravity feed into it
Have you tried put transmission fluid in with fuel that works well for my case
I have heard of guys doing it. I don’t think I ever did
Why don't you raise alfalfa with the grass?

Yea it cost too much not too!

I don’t have the quick nozzles on this sprayer. They are the threaded on style. Maybe on the next sprayer
I woulda done the same with the the pump. For something that's only used so many times a year, what the heck! Thanks for the informative video!

Fields are looking good! And that plane looked like a C-130 and they fly 500 to 1000 ft often
Yea I’m thinking that’s what it was. Was pretty low
Hey, just seen that you are at almost 2000 subs. Very impressive for less than a year of doing videos. Congratulations!
Thanks for being one of the 2000! Yea we are coming up on 1 year in about a month.
I know farming on hills is tough, but that is a beautiful farm!
Yea I do enjoy the view. You should see it at night with the lights from the roads, lights from the towns and beacon from the airport.

Have you thought of using steamer nozzles for the nitrogen? I use them on wheat and find they have less burn. Nice scenic area you live in.

Excellent
Thanks for the view

I think the price this year was around $230 per ton.
Man y’all have some beautiful land!
Thanks. If you are up there at night, it’s really a sight to see.
That was a C-130 you saw. Neat video, you`ll have happy grass soon.
I think it may have been. With the airport here, I could probably do a TH-cam channel on all the air traffic. Lots of military stuff too.
