    Aeroshell goes on the threads of the upper receiver, between the barrel nut and upper. I don’t believe it’s needed in between the handguard and the nut. But I don’t see it causing any problems.

    I genuinely do not understand why you applied grease to the barrel nut... that is a lubricant and Midwest supplies adhesive for that application. It’s not supposed to ever rotate on the barrel but and you just applied lubricant to it... don’t get it.

    I got a 9.5" long Midwest Industries combat T rail a couple months ago for my Bushmaster MOE carbine, and I love it so far! I put on a low profile gas block a few years ago, and with my carbine length gas tube I got so lucky because my low profile gas block just barely fits under the handguard and the length is perfect too; it just covers the gas block. I just chose a random length too! In retrospect I kinda wish that I would have bought an M lok handguard instead, just because that would be lighter.

    What quad length is need for a flush look with a can on it for a 10.5 -11.5 barrel should I go 13 or 14 quad?

    • @TheWatchFrogs
      @TheWatchFrogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're better off asking the manufacturers of quad rails like midwest, UTG and Daniel defense, their users and employees probably have a better idea. If you want to figure it out yourself you gotta get the lengths of the suppressor and barrel and then the length of the quad rail you want and go from there and determine how far out you want the can to protrude.
      Too many variables, not all cans are the same length, crush washers and shims and other adapters might change the look of the "flushed" aesthetic.
      Wish I was more useful 😪

    Weight adds up. I have an old AR that I built about 16 years ago or so and it is way to heavy. I mean like it's about 13 lbs with a loaded mag. I would like to see you put on a 70 lb backpack, a set of level IV plates, all your spare mags, and then strap a 13 lb rifle to yourself. Better yet, I would like to see you hold a rifle that heavy in a shooting position for a few minutes.

      hello friend. I gotta make an amendment video because I didn't make myself clear or communicate something clearly.
      the barrel nut is supposed to coated in green sleeve retainer. MI rail provides this. The reason I used grease was because this was for demonstration purposes and I ended up putting the rail on a different rail. I should have made that more clear. But it gets installed all the same :)

    Weight is obviously subjective.
    I belive that the gun should be built for a purpose. If your purpose is to build a small or highly portable rifle... then keeping weight down should be something you should be trying to achieve, if you're building more of a SPR/DMR rifle, then more weight might actually benefit the rifles accuracy and flow up shots.
