Do NOT use any threadlocker on the fasteners. Fasteners that screw into helicoils that are affixed to aluminum need to go in dry! I ended up pulling out a helicoil when installing. Luckily MI customer service is top tier and they replaced it. Andy from MI also said not to use the threadlocker, despite it coming with it(I know, wtf right).
@jasonm4 thank you for the heads up! Unfortunately mine is already installed. But this is good to know! Hopefully they stop including the thread locker.
Maybe just use heat when taking those fasteners out? I really don’t like the idea of not using thread locker or vibratite on handguard fasteners, those fasteners will eventually work their way out.
@79dogface Not yet. I have been slowly working to complete that build and hope to do a video of that at a later date. I am however extremely happy with how the handguard fits and functions overall.
The filing down of the barrel nut is inaccurate you have to clock the barrel nut appropriately because that's a requirement to put the gas tube in. The gas tube literally sits in the barrel nut groove, thats basically the basis for why this is such a low effort install.
@Yunier Alfonso No unfortunately they only make the extended for carbine length. I’m not sure if someone else makes one for a mid length that is still free float.

Do you know if that fits Mid-Length , because on their website when I click mid length it switches to the one that doesn’t have the cut out
