I did a self build with a second hand Trek Roscoe. I paid more for a better quality brand kit. I don't know what the exchange rate is, it cost me £1400. I have changed the controller and am running 52v, 45amp, 1500 watt motor. I can hit 42mph. I previously owned 2 pre-built bikes and knowing what I know now. probably would have gone for a Lectric XP as I believe they sell for $1000.
great vid brother! my specs are huffy night hawk 26" $109 , 1500w violamart hub motor $250 ish (been 3 years since i bought it) and upp 60v 20ah battery $450 so about $800... its 21spd , front disk /r rim , bags headlight tail lights and an ausome brand trailer all in less than $1200....top speed no load no wind 37 , (new home built 60v pack is 43 with the trailer) range about 35 miles more if i help out. other than brakes and tires no issues. i upgraded the tires to beastern 2.25 and dual compound rear brakes. going on 11k miles and in june will be 4 years!
I have lectrip xp 2.0 and it's $1000. I think that's the best starting ebike. it's a folding bike and comes with a rear rack. The downside like you mentioned is the motor been 500w and 10.4ah battery range which I'm able to squeeze between 12-16 miles miles. I can't wait to put a 2000w motor on it tho
Congrats on 1k subs! We've ridden & reviewed all three of the ebikes you listed so I agree with this list. Only other ebike I'd say your friend should look at: Ride1up Core 5 ($1045). This one we haven't ridden but the specs are good for this price range.
Thanks for doing the research for those of us that will be buying 2 bikes, one spouse and myself. The price point becomes important when the 2x factor is included.
I have a custom electric hard tail mtb with a 1500w motor and 48v 13.5 amph it cost me about $1200 aud this was a full budget build as cheap as I could make it
@@NPLVentures Quick question ? Really digging your coston creation by the way 🤟.I live in quebec canada .If i put the same motor and batterie that you have on yours .Do i need insurance and registration?I think that the e-bike is the futur of urban transportation. ✌️
My choice will be any bike from Ecotric. But specifically the: Ecotric 48V Fat Tire Portable foldable bike. But I went for another brand that has 26' fat tires and slightly more expensive. Crusher would have been my choice if I was willing to spend a little more money.
I got a turboant Ranger R1; they’re frequently on sale - I paid 699 I think when I got it; 500w 48v 13ah with allegedly 28mph top speed. It’s well made and worth a look if you can get a deal on it.
I bought a new 52v 21amp battery for my super73 lookalike with the bbshd mid-drive so with the spare 48v 14amp battery I bought a second mountain bike and bbs02 mid-drive motor and I love that bike it's so much fun to ride and it only cost me £600 it eats hills for breakfast 😅👍🏾
So I'm looking for frames still for a new ebike and I heard carbon steel/carbon fiber whatever the difference is between the 2 are not good frames to use for ebikes is that true?? I'm trying to look for solid steel bikes to use for a ebike on Amazon and I hardly ever get solid steel but carbon steel so do you know if they are good to use for ebiking?
basically top speed. if you think of electricity in a wire the same way as water in a pipe, amps is the diameter of the pipe and volts is the speed of the water moving in the pipe.
@@NPLVentures so the more amps in a battery the longer the range on the bike and the more volts the faster the bike will travel? Does it affect the acceleration at all or just the top speed and range?
My e-bike was around $1,900, and it's a DIY built plus I didn't buy a cheap bike My bike is an american-made bike and it cost $450 used but when it was new it was $800
Prebuilt ebikes for 1000$ are gonna be garbage. Better to save up another 500$, get a bafang mid drive, put it on a Schwinn Axum or some decent entry level hard tail. That way you have a decent upgrade path, replacement parts for the motor etc are widely available, and you can always move the electrics to a different bike in the future. Of course the miserable bike snobs will tell you Walmart bikes won't work, you're gonna break it, blah blah blah. Bike snobs are a miserable bunch of Salty Nancys that paid 10,000$ for their 250w Trek Ebike.

Almost there!
Right on.
Still think you should start over with another bike.
Sell this one if you need money.
This one is a cruiser. Your building a climber.
I just got my bike in the mail today and I am gonna build everything. I still need fender, what are those awsome big ones you have?
“mucky nutz” they are great
@@NPLVentures Awsome, thank you! I am hoping that this bike is gonna turn out awsome so I don't have to waste gas going to work.

question what would be the difference between a 48V 2000 watt vs 72V 2000 watt motor. I just do not understand voltage at all.
