My main specialty is a woodworker. I always like to find out where this wood comes from. I love the feel of raw wood. Wood smell when sawing. But that's not all. Many noble mahogany species smell very bad. It is also interesting to choose a texture, for example, for kitchen utensils. But I probably would never make guitars. Not my profile. Although sometimes you want the guitar to have some kind of characteristic personality. I look forward to russalt with impatience, what kind of guitar will turn out!
Thats a beautiful wood (neck). I read somewhere the more low the pitch the wood sound, the more sustain it will provide. I dont know if thats true or not, but i would go with the look, if sustain is a problem then pedals could help lol
@@whiskeymike7364 Go to the video Henning made on that project, sort the comments by time and not very far down there's one from 8 months ago where someone makes very serious accusations.
Finally an update on the axe 🤘🏽 Love that Shirt Nik! Hickory … it’s very dense would that wood make a good guitar? I know it chews up tools and makes a great club for … I’ll leave the club stories for a different day.
The sad truth is guitar building really isn’t to blame for the rosewood/mahogany//ebony problem… it’s because of the demand in other sectors and from other times… mahogany and ebony furniture for the British empire many years past. And particularly as a status symbol in a certain large country now…
There are so many tone-wood-debunking videos out there that the whole rosewood neck obsession is rather stupid on its face. It's all vanity and sheepish behavior. Looks are important, but 99% of guitarists absolutely can't tell the difference between rosewood and any other neck wood. Hell, Leo Fender chose his woods for their work-ability, durability, and price. Not tone.
Punkt.
Congrats HP! Lovely! 👍😮
That neck blank is stunning. I need a Huber.
Patiently waiting for my Krautster II to be finished. Such amazing instruments!

I love these “nuts and bolts” core materials videos.
So proud to own a Krautster, I met Nik Huber at the winter NAMM 2010

I hope to see more paulownia wood guitar bodies. Incredibly light and looks very much like ash. A fast growing sustainable tree.
It just has to to look nice. Lovely und Right!!!
Okoumé is used in marine grade plywood (Lloyd's register specs). Rather unflashy but sturdy.
Hi Henning... Entertaining as always, love your Lutheran adventures... What's up with the Scar my guitar project?
I am torn wether or not I should continue that. Sean is a nice guy, but a lot of controversy surrounds him and his builds... so I don't know.

Listening to that little scream of yours (with a 1.75 playback speed) at 8:55 just kills me! 😂😂😂
Hey, Marshall DSL20 or Orange Rocker 15?

I love Nick's philosophy and willingness to use non traditional and sustainable resources

It’s gotta be that 3d printed bridge...
Ok, the guitar is called the flipper, you can't change it now. And leave the hand writing on it 😜
Are we later yet?
I love my blood rosewood fretboards, ive got a solution. Plant more trees and make the industry sustainable.
Woah! Ok necks are sexy 🤘
4 thumbs down from Fender, Gibson, Taylor and Martin.
C'mon, I'm sure you could say something even more stupid than this if you try very hard.....

I never said it’s about tone… please point to the parting the video where I say that I like the „sound“ of rosewood necks. I don’t think you can.
