  • Kakuma Refugee Camp plays host to more than 120,000 children, each of whom has a right to life, survival, and development. With support from the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), our Kakuma Area program works to protect children from acts of abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation. This is in accordance with Kenyan legislation, which is outlined in the Children's Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of Children. In this animation video, we explain the key interventions adopted in our efforts to create safe spaces for our children. Watch this insightful animation video to understand how child safeguarding and protection is conducted in our Kakuma Schools.
