I have had to give a folded flag to the families of 5 fallen families from Iraq and Afghanistan. I could never do it without tearing up. I know this is fictional, but I wish I could have done it like Cho did in this scene.
This is the thing: Coffin bearers. the 1st two are her colleagues, 3rd & 4th are probably her superiors in the army (Remember what Jane commented on Vega?) The 5th & 6th are eyewitnesses to her murder, ie: they were customers in the restaurant. Those last twos deserve a medal for carrying a stranger to her grave.

It's funny how in a couple of episodes we felt how Vega became apart of the family. Abbot was the daddy, lisbon the big sister, jane the dramatic brother, cho the protective and supportive uncle, wylie the baby brother. Vega was the girl they adopted right away, who struggled to find her spot in the family and finally became the adopted baby sister. Wylie and Vega became closer as a budding couple and the rest of the team protected them while letting them grow into their own person. This season had the lesser episodes and yet accomplished that in a short time. Yeah I agree there was some lazy writing in how she did, because plot armor in this show is lite bullet proof glass (yeah irony) because *cough* *cough* Rigsby suffered TWO GSWS to the chest and lived to tell about it.... But yeah, it was good how they made her feel like family in such a short time that it actually hurt when she died...
Jane did not give Lisbon any support at all in this scene, sometimes he can be so hard and unhuman running away was easier for him, I disliked him for that for a couple of episodes, I know it was probably hard on him reminding him of his dead wife, but if he truly had meant that he loved Lisbon he should have stayed by her side,
I think the writers were showing how fragile he still was after the loss of his family....he ended up in the mental ward after that loss....he was protecting himself by removing himself from the possibility of losing Lisbon...I don't see him as cold, just very damaged from his previous loss....he had already tried to explain to her how her being in the path of constant danger was affecting him, but because her career was so important to her, she chose to continue....they both have their weaknesses, this is what made the show believable....

I compliment the writers for making the newest character, who only had 10 episodes to develop, to be loved so much that when she died it made fans cry as if it was one of the original cast. A little late, but it didn't really matter because the show ended within a few episodes later. I agree her dead was unnecessary, they could have honesty killed off Kim Fischer because she literally never showed up again in the last season.
Unnecessary maybe but it did help the audience get emotionally connected with the series like they had never done. No other member had ever died before.

The guilt killed Cho from the inside. He felt responsible for Vega from the beginning and she dies during his trial run as the supervisory Agent.
2019 and I still watch this when I can. I'm glad the actor who plays Cho is on Magnum PI now.

The show is, at the end, always going for a happy ending, a good feel. Killing off any member of the original CBI team would've been too much.
