  • If your 2023 goal is to wing foil, we say this is a REALLY good idea! Join me for a session where I explain the basics of wing foiling so you get an idea of how it works. We have a lot of wing foil instructional videos where we go in depth for each specific point: how to enter the water, how to get on your feet, how to get up on foil, etc... This video is just a very organic way to show you how a wing foil session looks like. We hope this helps, now it's time to live your best life!

    Normally you make it look easy - but somehow that looked really difficult, i think because of the frequent toe side action. Is it easier when the wind blows harder? Also, the bloke behind you with a kite looked a bit more comfortable. Is that easier?

      This sport is hard and not all sessions are the same! That day on the inside, the wind was very on and off so made it hard to get going. Yes it is easier with more wind for sure if the conditions are flat. Usually more wind bigger waves, not ideal as well. Kitesurfing and Winging are both great more of a personal preference on what you would like to do. I feel they both have their challenges learning but achievable to everyone 100% just takes the time to go after it! Go for it!

    Excellent video! In your opinion would it be easier to learn to SUP foil first or wing foil first? (My background is in SUP surfing.)

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I personally would dive right in and just take it head on. A SUP will help but not quite the same. It will give you hand wing skills so will help but the foil is another part. My 10 Cents. You will love it.

    Hi Damien. Great info for me looking to start. Gear sizing is for me is not easy to decide on as I am only 45kg. Advanced surfer, no foil experience, did windsurf for a short while on really heavy old stuff. Wanting to start with a secondhand wing and am looking at a crossing V2 or a mantis V2 both at 3 mtrs. Am I aiming too low on wing size ? Will the crosswing be good for advancing with ? Board will come later (I will start on windsurf & mini mal until I can get a foil) When I do go for these Im thinking a 50ltr board ? and a 1000ish cm front foil ? too small ? my gun surfboard is 6'2.5" x 17.5" x 2.75" a severely thin pin tail.
    (at 1st the board maker refused to make the tail so thin until I told him my weight). Can you set me straight please or suggestions? TIA, Andy

      I live in Darwin OZ fairly windy place with trades and very rarely get swell. Likely wind range would be 10 to 25 knts

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewmcevoy3828 Andrew a lot here, at 100 pounds 45KG. 3m is small but if you have wind it will work. Both wings will work, mantis or crossing but mantis is a better wing in my eyes. I would get a board that can float you to make life easier. 50L might be right around that size for sure a 60L. 1000 wing will make life very easy in the lighter winds and learning, easy for get up. I feel you being so small and if you advance fast a 800HA wing could work but a 1000 is a no brainer for keeping it simple at the start. Enjoy buddy!
