Young Harry (I'm 2 years older) was my inspiration to take this up two years ago. And he's still inspiring me. I'm having a blast and would encourage anyone in our age group to get into winging.
I am a 69ner and loving foiling. Harry helped me a lot last year advising me about HA foils and the kit he uses. I am very impressed with the Code and hope to get the new Code 2023 this year. The weather here in Devon, UK is brutal in the winter, lots of rain with gales thrown in. Not been on the water for three months so I really envy Damo, Harry and their friends at Jupiter… can’t wait to get back out next week. Water temperature 44F and air temperature feels like 50F. Not quite shorty weather yet.
@@devonmike Ouch, I remember cold water. I grew up in Newquay Cornwall. Now enjoy warm 78f waters of Noosa Heads in AU (Sea does chill down to 68f in winter though!)
I'm 53, and sometimes feel like I'm getting "old" (things hurt, things are harder, I'm tired of yelling at kids to get off my lawn, blah blah blah). Then see someone like Harry, and realize its not over yet ! Thanks Harry !
Harry, you are amazing. Chilled out wearing sunglasses talking about how to wing foil at 65. I hope I can do what you do at 55, the only difference where we surf in Scotland is we have 5mm full wetsuits, gloves, balaclavas, boots and put Velcro straps round our wrists and ancles to stop water coming inn. Happy Harry, your great, thanks for the tips and motivation.
Very kind words I personally sent it to Harry at 5:30am! :) You got this that is why they make the 5mm suits and hoodies, gloves! Time to live your best life!
Nice to see "real" men body in wing foil video. I'm only 51yo but similar hair style but bigger belly than Harry. Someday I'll go from Pompano to Jupiter for a chance to meet the legends in person, Harry & Damo.
What was the wind speed ? I’m a 59 year old windsurfer and interested in winging as a light wind option. I weigh 190 , how little wind can you wing in without having to pump too much ?
I'm 63 and 210 lbs. We wing in San Diego in 8 mph as long as there are a few gusts. I use the Cabrinha Code 5'4" or 5'8', Sabfoil 2100 cm^2 foil and either 7 or 8m F-One CWC wing.
Whoa I just bought the same board! Except I went for the 5'0" 78 L version. I'm making a trip down to that area in a couple months. Would be sick to ride with you guys.
Great vid, thank you! I've got the same body shape as Harry, but I'm having trouble finding a leash belt/harness that goes around my belly. What does Harry use? Maybe a vid on gear for the more heavy set folks out there?
Harry is so amazing. I know I'll never be as good as him but it is inspiring to watch him. Is the Vision wing good for light wind? I'm looking for a wing like the CWC or Nova light wind. In the 7 metre range.
it looks very nice, rigid and compact... but I'm not convinced by the rigid handles.... I tried different brands with rigid handles and I preferred the soft ones on my mantis V2...will see when I'll try... nice video news...thanks!!
Hello Damien Harry is so good that it seems easy. I wonder what foil he uses to be able to turn at such low speed without losing his flight? The foil look HA
I heard 5 meter wing. Not sure the board liters. Would guess weight at 90kg More or less. I'm also trying to figure out the proper board size for me at 90kg
So inspiring!! I just turned 60 last month. This foiling has fascinated me for the past several months. I’m heading to Florida in the next few weeks and have to try. Harry sealed the deal. How would I contact you for lessons?
I am 66years old, i do windsurfing, but I would like to do wing foil. Do you think it is difficult to start now? Does it take many days of practice? Thank you very much
You can do it for sure friend! Takes a while as wind is always unpredictable but like anything a little dedication and you are living your best life at 66! We are here to help! Why not go for it!
Oh thank you very much. you are right, everything requires a little effort and we must take advantage of this life at this age. Thank you very much and I hope to visit you
It depends on the foil you use and where you like to have your feet on the board. Harry uses the 1000 h series from Cabrinha and he likes to have it forward on the track
Hi Damien , this is Carlos, the kiteboarding judge from pkra. I always follow you and enjoy your content, great Chanel! Any comments on the new masts? I am on the H1000 and 80cm, wonder if they keep that size or went to 84-85, heard new masts are great and rigid. Let us know when you can! Abrazo amigo!
The Cabrinha prototype has no "S-strut". Still stretch strain wrinkels in the canopy. Windows which increase weight and decrease longevity. Tiny front handle.
