    The proposition “What is the universe and why would IT require compensation for new TIME lines to occur simultaneously” was quite fascinating. That is precisely how to achieve the proposed solution to transportation challenges. Quite impressive graphics explaining the concept. I am impressed.

    6:46 -- "You are bloody brilliant, Faye! You completely revolutionized transportation."
    Wait a minute. Isn't it her father who is bloody brilliant? Is she really going to keep the praise and glory for herself???

      That's what I thought too... And at the end, when her father said: "You can do this yourself, you don't need me.", I thought: "Yeah, she kinda does..." But she just hugged him and kept her mouth shut.

    The end explosion scene reminded me of sci fi from the late 50s early 60s.

    I watched a lot of this movie but then I stopped because I didn't want to contaminate that time line any more. I hope I stopped in time, whichever time that was.

      We don't stay up too many nights worrying about it, but I do kinda fear the end might very well just be like.... BZZZZT!!! What can I say? It may be selfish, but if/when the world ends, I wanna BE there and I want a SHOW of some kind. You, there's just as much odds that our entire universe is just a leee-tle tiny cell inside a GIANT GOD'S booger - what if he sneezes?

      @sailorofthesun It's okay - I went back in time and fixed everything so you'd enjoy the ending, and not write your review. Now I'm in a pickle because you still wrote the review and didn't watch it again. Damn those three thumbs up time loops.

    Great movie good acting was surprised to see that it was 2 separate actresses although I wondered because the voices didn't sound the same and that's pretty hard to hide even with good voice coaching. I also like the moment of Brilliance with the Father for people seem to forget that these brilliant doctors and physicists are good for what they did they could still continue to process but everyday life could become horrible with the Alzheimer's the same as other people who had Alzheimer's my aunt could still do her job and her family didn't know she had Alzheimer's I mean so severe she became lost trying to come home and never told my uncle until one day he realize she was circling the block unable to find her own home. The story is fantastic and a really good representation of what could happen in the future when we start to turn things with time travel. it is a cautionary tale of people trying to go back in time and change things. but I liked it that the woman was able to go back and fix things although I'm not sure that the doctor should have continued on her process of trying to do time travel it didn't seem wise but who knows well-executed movie good acting and the sets were great hope you guys can continue thank you for good entertainment.

    The same person can't occupy the same space at the same time. The paradox of time travel, the future hadn't happened, you can't go forward. The past is gone and can't go back because nothing is there. We're in a constant state of now. That's why time travel will never work! Otherwise great story line!

      There are mainstream scientists who disagree with you. They suggest that the direction of time is an illusion, and that past, present, and future do exist simultaneously, we simply only perceive the present. The fact is, it's all theory. They and you, do not know the truth. It's all speculation.

    Loved the character name Easter eggs. Loved the film and story, too. Well done! Some positive critique, though. The importance of her father to the events seems forced, and the ending seems off. Like there was more story there, which was edited out. Just feels like a puzzle with too many pieces missing and a few included from a different puzzle. Still liked it.

    What would a mashine like this mean for humanity?
    It is build for war, right? So in fact it would be possible to create an infinitly large arme from just one person (thanks to the time travel) and teleport them to battlefield.
    Humanity wouldn`t have any chance.

    Very nice. I am most impressed by your examination of temporal mechanics, though I think your implications for entanglement need some further research, as it is not, strictly speaking, possible to transmit information faster than light by means of entangled paticles, but I suppose as a plot point it is useful to drive the story.
    I do have one question concerning charater development: why give the father back his salient mind, knowing that it is only temporary. That seems rather cruel, almost like Charlie Gordon's outcome in Flowers for Algernon. But while Charlie's mental change was part and parcel of what drove the story, Silas's change seems to have no place in the outcome of this story at all, so why change him?

    • @UATDV
      @UATDV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. Yes, we took some liberties of course, as sci-fi tends to do. As for Silas, his shadow was over Faye and her work always, but without him being lucid Faye could not achieve closure with him. His dementia didn't allow him to see her as a fully formed and capable adult who could achieve greatness outside of his shadow. With some momentary lucidity they can work out their issues before he slips away again. There was more dialogue that spelled that out but in the final cut we decided to push that more into subtext. Thanks for your insightful comment!

  • @colinp2238
    @colinp2238 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Brilliant. I struggled to see where this was going. Normally I can solve the plot early into a story but this keeps you guessing until the end. Did destroying the machine repair the damage or just prevent it? Did O' Neil realise her mistakes and know how to build a new machine without damaging the Universe?

    • @UATDV
      @UATDV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I guess your questions are up for interpretation. But our intent was that destroying the machine in the present would avoid the damage that was happening in the future, thus sort of resetting the whole timeline. As to whether Dr. O'Neill learned from her mistakes... anyone's guess really. I'd like to think she did, and that resolving her issues with Dad would help her more fully come into her own in all aspects of her life and career.
