    Good Install video. Only suggestion, add use of Teflon tape to all threaded joints before connecting to minimize leaks. I even added Teflon strip to hotwater plastic pipe before connecting because that's the most vulnerable to leaks as a pressure based connection.

      How does one add this tape?

    • @dilbertjunkmail
      @dilbertjunkmail 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@charlesjue4962 The Teflon tape is added by simply wrapping a small strip around the threaded (male) portion of a threaded joint. Them screwing the male to female joint together. The thin tape is additional leak protection for connections without torque-ing the joint too tight!

      You might actually be happier with this than a Washlet. Sure, it doesn't have a heated/self-opening seat, filtered air, or bowl pre-misting, but I find that the lack of custom pressure variability and the dubious claims of their electrolyzed eWater+ make it less attractive when you take value into account. Tushy really has made a solid, quality product for the masses. No buyer's remorse here.

    Good job! She's personable and cute while being accurate. Conversely, another video I saw talked about the braided hose, but in the subsequent step the white hose, which in that case wasn't accurate. In this video, the suggestions I'd have are minor: to be aware of and minimize he occasional glare on her glasses and to highlight any other common problems. I loved the idea and creativity of "future Carrie" (spelling)! There appear to be extra washers that she didn't use, something that might be addressed. At the beginning the three controls could have been mentioned. She expanded her initial list of what's needed to install this beyond what she started with, e.g. hot water. Altogether, though, she made it look like something that I could do without trepidation, as I have a similar arrangement as in her demonstration.

    • @MikeTrieu
      @MikeTrieu 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need both the braided and the white hoses. The braided hose is to connect the cold line while the white connects the hot line. There will be some spare parts like an extra minidapter washer and some end caps, but that's about it. The rest is thoroughly explained in the included manual.

    Also, don't tighten the minidapter too tightly or you risk distorting the rubber washer inside and it won't seal tightly. Ask me how I know.
    One other thing I don't see mentioned here is that the Tushy will raise your toilet seat a bit so that when you go to sit on it, it will deflect downward with an annoying "clack" and put pressure on your seat fittings, possibly cracking them over time. I would recommend Tushy offer little adhesive rubber standoffs the exact width of the bidet to stick to the existing seat feet (that phrase just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? 😂).
    I discovered during my installation that my existing seat bolts were too short to accommodate both the Tushy and the seat. Would it have killed Tushy to include a couple long nylon nuts and bolts with the kit?
    On a more positive note, I find the Tushy to be a good balance of power and comfort. It produces a broad enough stream that I don't feel like I'm being sliced in half. I have a hundreds of 💵 more expensive Toto Washlet upstairs and the default mode feels anemic in comparison while the secondary mode feels like it's ripping me a new one. There's no in-between! 😳
    Lastly, if you're in a relatively large house where the pipes get cold with disuse, you'll find that the hot water takes an unreasonable amount of time to get up to temperature. If you can spare it, I'd say installing an on-demand whole-house hot water recirculating pump with automatic temperature control would be worth it. Those usually bring the pipes up to a comfortable 90°F and then the central water heater can take it further from there.

  • @SilkBC74
    @SilkBC74 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you have a covered cabinet area with your sink and don't want to drill the hole, I am sure you can just not connect the hot water hose and just leave the cold/room temperature connected and just don't adjust the temperature.

    • @HelloTUSHY
      @HelloTUSHY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct! Spa can function as a Classic with one connection and an inlet cap. I've also seen a few people just run the hose through the cabinet door, since it's tiny it's barely noticeable.

      Hi Sashia! You can cut it and that is no big deal, just make sure it's a straight cut (not angled) and only to an appropriate length, keeping in mind if ever you want to use it in a different bathroom you may just want to use a twist tie to wrap it up.

    Great explanation. Not a fan of drilling a hole into my solid wood cabinet...who would want a hose coming out of the front? If you own your place, I'm not sure that one would want to do that. Not sure this is for me 😢

    this assumes your sink (hot water source) is close enough to your toilet. How long is the hot water Tushy hose? Can it be cut to size?

    • @HelloTUSHY
      @HelloTUSHY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Daniel! The hose that comes with the TUSHY is 9 ft long. We also carry a 15 ft hose for people who need some extra length! We typically don't recommend cutting the hose ..unless you are handy and know how to do it!

    So I have a question, my (very small) bathroom is constructed in a way that the sink cabinet is sort of in front of the toilet but to my left side when sitting. So does this mean I can’t use the hot water because the hose would definitely be too short to reach the toilet, let alone would be in the way of most of my bathroom? (Clockwise my bathroom has the sink, shower stall, then toilet, with door entrance to bathroom on the left of the toilet). Am I relegated to the original tushy? Thanks!

    • @HelloTUSHY
      @HelloTUSHY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Abby, we actually have a 15 foot hose option for warm water connections, so if you believe it could run along the wall, you might be good to go with a TUSHY Spa!

    problem we have water lines from the 1960s and they are completely different than that sink one you have. Ours is much smaller :( and the nut is part of the water valve, it's not on the hose part.

    Hello I have a question. I bought mine. Has both for hot and cold water. As seeing that my toilet is far from my sink I decided not to connect the hot water at the moment. Although I am left with the hot water connector out in the open while the cold water is attached to the hose. How can I make it work with our using the hot water? I was thinking of using a Cap Nut to deactivate that side of the bidet. But I would like to get advice first. Does anyone had the same problem?

    • @HelloTUSHY
      @HelloTUSHY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey! Your TUSHY Spa should have come with an inlet cap that can go over the threading the warm water connection would normally connect to. That should allow it to function as a Classic!
