    Thanks for the video , lawnmower fired right up after this procedure . Although after working on it I cleaned the gas cap vent hole out . Remove the rubber gasket and make sure the small hole in the center is clean ( blow it out) when I removed the fuel line fuel was not coming out like it should . It was not vented ! Everything is good to go for another 10 years . Thanks for your video !

    Thank you very much just wanted to let you know my brother was yelling at me not to touch the lawnmower as if I was going to ruin it. I watched your video I cleaned out the jets. Put it back together. The lawnmower started on first try. Took me 20mins. And a whole lot of yelling at my bro.😅

    Buddy!! You made it possible for me to do my first carb clean at 38yo 😂
    Took her all apart and cleaned her up and put it all back together... wouldn't start till I put a new plug in her though 🤣🤪
    Much much appreciated brother.

    Bro, awesome video. Thank you for the Amazon links too. I'm buying one of these lawn mowers as a first time home owner from someone locally for like $150, and I anticipate that I'll need to replace the carburetor as well as the spark plug. I really appreciate you walking us through the steps. Cheers.

      Most likely you just need to do an oil change, new spark plug new filter and blade sharpen and your good…. I did that and mine prrrsss and works pretty good…
      Considering doing this from the video later on

    We've had our HRX since 2012, other than cleaning out leaves that get jammed underneath, and regular maintenance, never had a problem until this year. Engine runs but surges, so figure it is overdue for a carb cleaning. Thanks for the video, I now know what to do!

    Seems there are more gaskets than you installed or am I missing something. I think most will use carb cleaner and skip the gold testing fluid. I wonder why the bowl nut was on so tight. Great Video, thanks for posting.

    I just did mine. @4:00 on the side there is a hole that you can put a ball pump needle and push it down. In the meanwhile use flat screw driver to get the screw out. It's a pain in ass.

    One thing i noticed when i removed my carburetor, after it quit in the middle of mowing and would not start again, there were more gaskets than what i saw in your re-install of this carb. I would say 3 more.

    95 % of carbs issues is the gasoline itself not dirt or debrie the gas puts a coating on jets causing 99% carb issues even if there is something trash or whatever is in tank it dosen't get to carb there is micro screens to prevent this getting into carb

    At least it wasn't a plastic thing that you can't fix. I've had mine for 4 or 5 years now. First time I couldn't get it going. It would "almost" get there. If I had to absolutely have a generator, it will have a Honda motor on it.

    Use nothing but premium fuel with a fuel stabilizer and you will never have carburetor problems. The premium fuel is expensive but one is using very little of it. The premium fuel has way more detergents ( Techron + others) in it that keeps the carb clean and the spark plug as well. I have used it in my John Deere JX75 for 24 years and no carb problems not any, plus the E-3 (E3.22) spark plug. Just put new wheels, air cleaner, Mobil One oil, new spark plug after 9 years of running time. The life time guarantee spark plug I took out had no deposits but I put a new one anyway. Hope my Honda HRX last as long as but I doubt it.

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Premium goes bad faster. Don't believe me? Put low test in an open jar and premium in an open glass jar see what one turns yellow first. What you realy want is non ethanol fuel.

    • @allenfrazier912
      @allenfrazier912 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smallengineguys that may be true but within days of getting premium gas I mostly use all of it,when I'm done using the mower I try to make sure no gas stays in the tank. Especially after mowing season, and I turn my gas shut off on as well.

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thats a good practice. id also run it till it starts to surge then choke it to get all of the fuel burnt out of the carburetor.

    • @seannoh672
      @seannoh672 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      91+ octane is an overkill. My 20 year old mowers never needed carb work with regular gas until one year I left the gas in the tank over the winter. And if you use up the gas in the gas container within a month, you won't need stabilizer either. But stabilizer is good insurance just in case.
