      i think the world of hunter x hunter is pretty interesting, its bigger than are main character Gon. its like seeing a D&D world be unravelled with the bigger picture front & centre. Living in the human world, is like hunting in a fishing pond, they are not true hunters unless they can explore the Grand Line and beyond.

    You made me realize HXH is a far more darker and deeply primal story than I expected, it feels like biological evolution put into manga form.

    I've seen almost every single movie and tv show since around 1985 to around 2015, i've read hundreds of fantasy books, read thousands of comics, read tens of thousands of manga, and out of them all Togashi is the only author in existence that is actually pulling off a so-called 'battle-royale'. Hundreds of authors/directors have tried something like this and they've all failed miserably because what Togashi is doing is insanely difficult to pull off. For perspective its like if George RR Martin put every major character in game of thrones on a massive ship, and then had them all fight to the death to figure out who would be king while also incorporating the underworld, the legitimate rulers of GRR Martins world (aka the top hunters), an expedition of an unknown land, and all within the realms of the best battle system in existence aka nen (Togashi made it to be as similar to real life as possible...). He's above genius level. Togashi was interviewed about how he came up with nen back in 2004-06 i forget the exact date, you gotta use the wayback machine to fine the interview on an obscure japaneses blog, but Togashi is asked how he came dup with the 'nen battle system' and Togashi responds, 'i just made my battle system as close to actual reality as possible' or something along those lines. King, reread HxH as if its real life and its how the top 1000 or so humans on the entire planet operate. HxH is the universal conspiracy theory in plain sight, not 'hidden in plain sight', its just 'in plain sight', reread it as if its how the rulers of earth operate. Dark continent is space. Ill eventually write an article or do a video explaining how insnaely similar HxH is to real life. Togashi is a league above my friend

      Like how One Piece is put the one world government conspiracy theory of David Icke and William Cooper in comic book form. If u really pay attention, you'll see it. Genius, really.

      agree,, when it comes to powersystem, japanese media excel the most in it. they dont put a filter what comes out of their mind unlike western media. what togashi does is hyper planning and remember things to every detail while keeping it > entertaining < and > hooking < to every new chapter. i dont wanna make this paragraph so,,,
      togashi is truly a peak greatest artist of all time

      No
      Hunter x Hunter as actual continents like our world,but they're all inside a planetary sized lake and most of the world is a massive land mass unknown to even the most informed human
      The world of one piece is arguably a dwarf-star sized planet with continental mass in the middle forming a ring and the rest of the world is filled with islands
      One Piece has shown more locations and diversity mainly because of time and Oda's careful planning,but HxH has the bigger world.

    • @szilveszterforgo8776
      @szilveszterforgo8776 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marcioamaral7511 And how does that add any value to the worldbuilding of HxH? It's just like our continents in the real world but reordered by the process of rotating and mixing them up. It's as uncreative as worldbuilding can possibly be. Any 5 year old could do that.
      And when it finally turns out that the world is much bigger and fans get hyped up, it has zero relevance since nothing in the worldbuilding is planned out by necessity from the start, which means that Togashi could retcon the whole thing. But of course, even that would be an overestimation, considering how Togashi didn't do anything with the manga for more than 1.000 days in a row.

    All I can hope is that Gon learned what Gyro didn't by delving into the evils of humanity. The Ant King learned to be human. We have to believe that Gon has learned too. Where Gon saved Killua in the beginning, Killua saved Gon in the end. Maybe just having one person is enough to stop someone from losing their humanity.

    Good video, not sure if the dark continent is the fate or if Gyro is willing to destroy humanity as a pure darwinian, however the devil's sonata does not originate on the continent as far as we know on the other hand humanity deviates from the animal world as it does not completely belongs there, every creature modifies the environment that creature is in and tries to exclude or avoid predators as much as possible, I think Togashi could be like Rene Guenon, for example you say that HxH is about an adventure so I guess under that guise Ergo Proxy is an adventure story as well even when it is psychologically rich, something that defines more the series so what you do is to try to encompass everything into a story and that's loable but it makes the same error that Togashi has avoided so far which is to summarize everything into one idea to minimize the world into concepts and meaning something really common now and prepotent enough.
    Someone from the old mindset would have never dare to try to reduce universe into the understanding specially because of pride but it is also true that they can tie the plot along itself and that would be all.
    It may be that Togashi does not eat that Kantian false notion of universe adapting to us so easily unlike the west that just gulled it long ago.
    I really liked your take but strongly dissagree with everything being a simple Evangelion dialectic of humanity being antagonistic to natural purpouse for the aforementioned reason but mostly because it diminishes the plot into a "every path originates on the dark continent" and subsequently "human world is different from the dark continent" therefore "human world must be ceased so only the reality of the dark continent remains" it is a path for sure but something I won't do myself because it is predictable, boring and defeats the series achievements by itself.
