If you want to give Rarran video ideas, he should try building his own decks and playing them in ranked (during the Kaisa season he played 100 ladder games with meta decks, so it would be interesting to see a comparison)

This one, moreso that most past videos, really illustrates how being a Hearthstone player doesn't really equip you at all to evaluate LoR cards. The games really only have cosmetic similarities; the ENORMOUS differences in tempo (since opponents can react to your plays immediately) make them play completely differently, so what is worthless in one game can be game-breaking in another (or vice versa).

Spirits Unleashed is used in GP-Sej, which isn't a bad deck. I think that 2 stars is a bit too low.
Yeah to be fair this was recorded ~2 weeks ago when plunder wasn't really seen anywhere. Like I said in the video it's a really good card but just didn't find a deck at the time which made me give it 2 stars. If Freljord had more "generally good" cards/playstyles we'd see spirits unleashed A LOT more

I'm surprised Rarran didn't see the Jade Idol parallel with Ruinous Acolytes
Black flame would be neat in HS for aggro, t-1 leper gnome into it or something seems really good if you got one per turn.
The way I looked at ad judged the Acolyte package was to compare it to Jade Golems, except it's even better because the Reliquary is basically a Jade Idol that not only gives you a Jade Golem to play but also replaces itself in deck. I don't play Runeterra at all and say this package was turbo broken immediately.
Rarran: "I mean would I pay 1 extra mana to have a minion that could potentially refill 1 mana and get a bonus? Yeah, I mean that's not the worst thing I've ever seen"

As somebody who recently got back into the game and mostly only plays Path of Champions at the moment, it's really funny to see how massive the difference is between how good these are in traditional LoR vs PoC. Aatrox's deck in Path adds a phage item to the darkin staff, making it an insane +2/+2 that refills spell mana and gives impact for just 1 mana, but in regular games it's absolute trash haha
Haven't really played runeterra, but the black flame seems absolutely busted. There's like 5 million followers with effects when attacking, and you can pick your favourite and make it uninteractable
the Ruinous Acolyte are similar to Pogo Hopper in Hs, that you really dont think much of the card until it gets going and turn into a meta deck out of nowhere
The whole Acolyte package is more akin to Jade Golems. Since you just constantly generate bigger and bigger dudes infinitely.
@@Noobie2k7 Pogo Hopper do the same thing but with a lithe more set-up. i don´t think they are that diferent. Jade Golens would usually abuse of the late game where there is no more draw besides more jade golens, while pogo hoppers try to be faster about it

Ruinous Acolyte is sorta reminiscent to Jade Druid of days past in Hearthstone; which is to say, slow but escalates into nonsense after around 7-9 turns

Xolanni is what people in the MTG community call a "Timmy Card": It's big and cool with a really powerful effect that's awesome when it goes off, but isn't consistent or even good half the time.
Despite Timmy Cards usually being neither consistent or good, they tend to see a lot of play anyways just because they look/feel so awesome when they go off.

19:28 that's literally a lie. "Everywhere" in Hearthstone is written as "(Wherever they are)" and works exactly the same that in Runeterra.
Rarran is talking of cards that say explicitly "In your hand, deck, and battlefield" text that meets the distinguishable characteristic of not saying "Everywhere" anywhere.
