I’ve never had a problem with well made replicas. As long as they are not represented as original. Great video Colleen
I never understood that mentality. If you own a replica of a famous car, especially if it is done well, just be proud of it it, when asked, just say it's a replica of tribute car.
I wanted one of these SO badly. I even contacted Modena Design and Development in California (who made the Ferris Bueller car) and they mailed me a brochure, order form and build sheet (this was the mid 80s, so we were still sending paper via UPS). It used its own chassis, but the 5.0 V8 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission were borrowed from a Mustang. I remember it was almost exactly $50,000, which is roughly $140,000 today.
Whoa, that's crazy!
Some years back I was at a car show in Santiago Chile. I saw a convertible, cool looking Ferrari Daytona Spyder, only to find out it was a C3 Corvette kit car from the 1970's. I would drive that car every day.
I love replicas as I had a 57 Speedster Porsche replica for years as my daily. Nice one again Colleen 👌😊
LOVE LOVE LOVE this new channel , keep the content coming please !
Starting out slow, new video every week
SCHWEET, sweet car ! Eye candy with historical depth !! Have a great week !!! Look forward to the next drop !
Awesome video Colleen!! I saw one of the cars from the movie Ferris Bueller at the Henry Ford Museum temporarily donated by Hagerty
Another great presentation!
One of the most beautiful cars ever produced.
Excellent presentation on the preservation of originals in concept form.
Love seeing youe smile when you are behind the wheel. Enjoy.
Love the ending! Another great video.
Wait a minute WAIT A MINUTE. Youe channel has only 2 viseos as of today's and rhis is the wuality of videos you put out?
Holy Moly !!! I cannot believe this, I kid you not when I went to your channel homepage I was expecting to see AT LEAST 100-150 videos.
If you have never presented before and/or you just now assembled your videography and edot team ...then my jaw literally just hit the floor ❤
Otherwise also, again, superbly done !!!
This is a new, rebranded channel. Her old channel is Ferraris Online, which has the catalogue you expect.
@@stevensullivan603helpful, thanks!
Cool video.👍 Love the ferris bueller part.😊
Nice job from the presenter. Clear, knowledgeable, well spoken. So many of the car video presenters should never be in front of a camera or microphone... and the ending is spectacular.
Hi Colleen, love, love this video! I was the proud owner (2004-2013) of a very similar Ferrari SWB California recreation, but based on a 365 GT 2+2 (larger V12, 5-sp gear box and IRS), so I can admire how much you enjoyed talking about and driving this one -- very accurate and sounds even better! Brings back so many good memories of driving mine. While there are those who trash talk "replicas/rebodies/recreations" (& now "Revival" with the good work of GTO Engineering), the car you drove and my car (& other rebodies) are definitely 100% Ferrari, just with a better body, usually in the case where the previous one was beyond repair or value (or like the 365 "Queen Mary/Mother" mine was, just plain Ugly). The new body for mine was made in aluminum by Allegretti in the 1980's (Allegretti was one of Ferrari's coach builders), so basically a kick-ass Ferrari Hot Rod !! -- worth every penny of $1+ million and will likely only increase in value in the future as a rare collectable (like, because you can actually DRIVE and ENJOY the thing as I did !).
Mine was not only blessed by one of the original owners of Ferrari of Atlanta dealership as being incredibly accurate and worthy (he still had his TdF, an original LWB CA Spyder, etc), it was later acquired by the then-current owner of Ferrari of Atlanta for his private collection (along with his stable of 250 Lussos, 275s, etc). I believe it now belongs to a major collector of both modern & vintage Ferraris.
I'm so glad you are following in your father's footsteps as it was articles from him, Niles, Roush and Apen (not to mention having T. Rutland's nearby) that gave me the confidence to buy my absolute dream car many years ago. Cheers! (& I think your arms look great, Btw :)
Thank you for the story and the kind words! Sounds like we may have some new things coming in that may be of interest to you. Reach out so we can stay in touch!
DDDAAAMMMNNN !!!!! This is Beautiful !!! Thank you for this Video !!
We got a lot more coming real soon!
OK, you get a thumbs up just for that classic Ferris ending. ...oh yeah, and Save Ferris!
Excellent 😎
Make sure you watch the video till the very end!
Loved outro touch
It was fun and necessary
Great video! Awesome car! A very, very souped-up version of my Fiat 124 Spyder. 😎👍
We love producing your videos!
Whether you have the money or not. There's only 39 out there. So if you want one you have to hope someone is willing to sell one. If they don't you are out of luck regardless of how much money you have. That's where cars like this matter. With the right craftsmanship and attention to detail they can be just as good if not better than the original. What's really different between a replica and an original hand built Ferrari from the 60s?
The drivetrain is all Ferrari parts Built a couple over 35 years ago Young guy started when I was 19. You have to make room for the 12 cylinder motor into the firewall. There is a difference from the 289 Ford engine we were using
1961 Ferrari 250 GT California
It's his fault he didn't lock the garage.
Nothing more needs to be said but that's a very sweet replica in the video and is well presented.
Beautiful
In FB’s day off, it’s possible to tell the 250GT is a replica as Ferris puts the car in drive from park when they pick up Sloan. No 250GT came with an auto.
The number one reason is that replicas of Italian cars don't usually catch on fire :)
Good info! Can I have one? Just one?? & Great Ferris ending!
Cute end!
Gorgeous!
See folks, always watch till the very end 😉 LMAO 🤣, nice ending. Great video.
We have to make it fun!
@@NextGenClassics Absolutely 😄👍🏻
Great video. Engine noise after Ferris picks up his girlfriend at school was not a V8. Added v12 sound. Had to be.
Fabulous car, replica or not. Great video too, thanks.
Favorite Ferrari Channel At The Moment
Some close-up shots in FB were of a real 250 GT, and the engine in the replica (actually 3 replicas) was a 1974 302 Ford V-8, C-4 auto, not a muscle car engine.
The “Ferrari” that crashes out of a window is really a carefully crafted fake. To capture the look and feel of the real deal, the film’s special effects team used shots of a Jaguar E-Type, FIAT 128 Spyder, and a VW Type 3.
The more you know! Thanks for sharing
I always loved this car - My Fav Ferrari of all. I would def drive this car as a replica!
I would have that car in a heartbeat ! Love it! I would rather have a 250 GTO replica though!
Let's make it happen!
When I realised that they use geniune time-era correct Ferrari-Parts I was wondering if "Replica" is not stretched a bit much here as a term. Yeah it's not original but I expected some straight six Engine from today and so on. Was hoping to hear a Price under 100k. But that wish died instantly after hearing how it is build. Still an awesome car and I hope there will be People who actually drive it like Ferris and don't Garage Queen it!
That's our goal too! We do our best to put cars in good hands so that they can continue to be enjoyed for years to come
Nice Europa!
I feel pretty good about saving about a million dollars and settling for a lessor experience with a corvette convertible from 2003. I made sure it fit me well, and was surprised at how many cars I didn't fit into when I went convertible shopping . I really don't consider 6'2" that tall.
Nice DBS in the back
Buy it!
Wonderful video! Only thing I would have loved to know is what it might approximately cost to own a replica like this.
A million. She says it in the video. They also don’t sell for 20 million. 6-10 million recently
One sold for nearly 18 million last year
@@kobartlett Oh thanks somehow I missed it !
I always thought Colleen was taller than that. Must be the good posture. 👍
5'7 looks tall compared to these low cars!
“Replica” is the word doing all the heavy lifting in that sentence.
Great video, so many good facts and well presented ! PS. sorry, I think the tat's are a negative :-(
Who built this replica and how do we get a hold of them?
Dugan Enterprises!
Love that car. However a million dollars for a replica is still too expensive for most people. A replica if build well can be better than original and alot cheaper to build/buy.
You can buy or build a very good qaulity Shelby Cobra replica for alot less than 1 million dollars.
liked and subscribed
Appreciate it!!
Nice video but there is a typo in your thumbnail lol
It's just the font, no typos here!
@NextGenClassics oh OK. It looks like it says California Spuder. I'm sure I'm the only one that will think it :0)
IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL THE SLIM LADY SINGS, COLLEEN
I almost bought one of these in the 80's with a chevy 350 with webers and a real Ferrari trans but chickened out
Love it! Would have no problem owning or driving a fine replica as long it was all Ferrari, however Ferrari probably disapproves and may not look too kindly on you!
The advantage of this car is you can drive it hard
What if you're going to talk about and how much does it cost to get one built hello information
just wow
is this a gto engineering replica?
Nope!
At about 1:00, I see a pale blue car on the left with a grill that is crooked. Now that I've seen it, I can't un-see it ... and I'm looking at that instead of the gorgeous red Spyder.
what is your opinion on cut daytonas?
Ya I'll opt for a long wheel base if I have 20 mil hanging around😂
There was an original California swb that was made with a Lampredi 4 litre I think there was only one.
My friends and I did some of that Ferris Bueller stuff except we didn't have a Ferrari. With us we stood in front of the garage and said "The 1977 Ford LTD wagon with the 460 and the tow package."
Generally I don't like replicas that much because most of them look like cheap knock offs but I wouldn't mind having a realistic Countach or Ferrari 288 GTO replica at all because I know I will never own a real one.
You never know, hard work pays off and maybe you can get a real one! And you know who to call when that time comes
Probably more reliable than the original
Who built this replica?
You got me so interested in pedal Gap now to find a woman who enjoys a small pedal Gap that's enjoyable to me
SWB tail lights looks like VW type 3 :)
Who built it?
Dugan Enterprises!
how did James Coburn fit in there? He was 6'2" if I remember.
Very carefully, I guess!
He stopped his heart...our man flint!
No ! i don't want to leave...please, don't make me,....OK.....i LOVE it here!
i won't bother anything. i promise...i'm in LOVE ☆♡
I built a Lambo Diablo 6.0 replica and I am proud to say it’s a replica, that I built it myself! Pleasant motoring friends!✌️
When she says pedal box she actually means the footwell.
Same thing, kiiiinda
Beautiful ride, dont really care if it's real or not. Dont claim it's real and just enjoy the ride. Ivan has one of these.
All Ferraris are made for people with long arms and short legs. Nature of the beast. I’m 6‘ 4”. I can fit in a 308 well enough. Ridden in a 250 GT SWB, Daytona and a Dino. One just grits ones teeth and takes it when riding or driving a Ferrari. You know why.😊
👍🏼
Thankfully I'm 1/2 inch shy of 6 feet so I should just about fit, I'll have one in yellow please 😉
First time to your channel, I like, I sub, I come back for more and I Thank you.
See you next week with the next video!
A daily driver!
My only problem is that I actually like the 330 2+2 and they’re regularly butchered to make more popular models lately. I was on the brink of buying one years ago and instead bought my first 911.
Ken Eddy? 😂
You are the Twyla Tharp of trust-fund body language. Your slack game is amazing!
Love it! Not worth 1 million though.
It cost at least that much to build
Only a million, let me reach into my back pocket ... front pocket ... side pocket ... call the bank ... 😭
It wasn't Ferris' car, it was Cameron's father's car...just sayin'...
I liked this video until tell the short sleeves came out, ugh. Nothing says high end like arm doodles.
At 6’5” 260, it’s not gonna fit. Whew…
Really? A decent 330Gt is about 300k...that's an expensive build on the same chassis....Ferrari wouldn't recognise this...hence dubious value?
Luigi Chinetti realized a vision better than Enzo himself could do. Unfortunately this story doesn't apply to replicas. A million dollar fake Ferrari to go along with a $40 fake rolex; completely inauthentic.
Not hardly.
A million replica isn’t a great alternative 😂 make it 200k and we’ll talk 👍🏼
Beautiful car. What has happened to the presenters arms, some accident or was that mess intentional?
Back in the days when the world made beautful cars, women also had a desire to be beautiful, now we have ugly everything. From gross SUV's to tattooed up and riveted women.
Your tatts don't really go with a fine car like that.....they look dirty and low class. But the car is gorgeous.
Replicas are nice if they're well done. They are nowhere near as nice as the real thing. Especially with an American V8.
At least this one had a Ferrari engine in it!
True sports cars are not convertibles.
So sad to see all that ink. You're a beautiful woman Colleen, God made you near perfect, but graffiti all over you spoils that perfection.
A Ferrari kit-car will never be in the same universe of "coolness" as a genuine Ferrari.
Cool car. Not my style in any way.
We have a 928 in the showroom!
@@NextGenClassics my prediction is in 10-15 years when all the decent parts cars are gone, the 928 will become rare to see. I think they made like 170k corvettes last year (don’t quote me). 61,000 928s were built worldwide over 17 years. I’d say the attrition rate estimated around 40% parted/dismantled, totaled. Maybe 30,000 roadworthy 928s in the world left, if that. Now think that maybe 70 % of them automatics. That leaves maybe 9000 manual 928s on the road on earth
@@928pcar Ours is manual, sounds like you need it
Just as cool? LOL
Yea women are 5'5" on average. Men are 5'10"...
Mm, nope. A real Ferrari is better then a fake one. Duh
It is (kind of) real though!! All Ferrari parts, just more affordable
Rich girl, you think you want to drive a real vehicle??
thank you Colleen for bringing us back to our childhoods with this 1 🤍
