I got one of these "Golf Club Length and Swing Weight Balance Scale Aide" on ebay and it's worked well. It was faster than trying to building my own and it's quite accurate. I've used it to verify some of my professionally built clubs and it was spot on. I've been watching your channel for awhile now and have successfully built a few dozen sets of clubs. Great job!

Do you think a Dremel with a cutoff wheel would work for graphite shafts?

When you say a custom fitting, is that the term I should use when inquiring about a "fitter's" services? Or should I find a custom clubmaker to do a custom fitting for me? The term "fitting" seems too broad for the wide variety of services that fall under that name. I feel my current iron set could benefit from a clubmaker like yourself.

Do you show how to repair grooves in irons? I have a groove tool to sharpen the normal light abrasions but I’m asking about deepening the grooves when the club face is “flattened” out.

Stephen Maddox it would have to good to a place
Like the Golfworks where they use a saw to cut the grooves. However you run the risk making them illegal

So I messed up my clubs and calculated wrong.. they’re at D8 and should be D6... can I just add lead tape to the butt end to get to D6 or do you suggest rebuild?

Stephen unless you are totally swing weight sensitive to sweat the added 2 points. most golfers cant tell. if you are one of the luck few that can tell. I would suggest removing the weight at the tip because you will be adding significant weight to the butt to 8 grams or better. Total weight is as important if not more important to the club and golfer.

Thanks for your response, last night as I was cutting lead tape I kept hearing my dad in my head saying “anything worth doing is worth doing right” needless to say I removed the heads and adjusted the tip weights! Hahaha. Thanks for your response appreciate it!

When you do the set up with your custmors do you use a flight score, trackman or what to get your spec's for what they need for the clubs your are building for them?

    • @McGolf

Thanks, that is what my club fitter here in Lincoln Ne does. I try to convince people I play with that all clubs have to be balanced like you do to be more effective for their respective swings. My latest irons (EPIC Pro) were done by the callaway rep for the area ( had them before they went in the stores). I had my fitter rebalance them and it was amazing the difference in play.
I really enjoy continue to learn from the information you are putting out.

I was just in Omaha for a funeral. Sounds like the clubfitter know his stuff. Go Huskers

I really dislike how you do steel shafts. Your information is wrong o it. Also rather pure the club than finding the spine if you want to be correct. Hopefully you know how to pure a shaft. Great videos besides this one.
