Doom really does run on everything... The SNES, the Jaguar, printers, watches, the Mega Everdrive Pro, a pregnancy test... and now it even runs on cardboard
There are some pretty cool mods for doom today. That can give almost the same kind of effect. I personally am playing doom with a sort of 3d effect on these days. And "realistic" blood. It's a completely crazy experience playing modded doom. But i always prefer to have that original feel over the game even if i play modded.
I've just reached the end - I can happily say that it was definitely worth the wait! Comments on individual parts of the video by timestamp: 0:12 - an epigraph is a clever idea - it just adds depth, it makes it seem not just a funny vid on the interwebz but something grand and operatic. Even better that it's a fairly original thought too - I've never actually heard that quote before. The only fault is that there seems to be a bit of a skip in the recording of the burning skull around 0:17 but that's only a very small niggle. I liked how the skull swung into position at the start of this shot as well, it didn't just fade in - it gave even a static opening shot a sense of anticipation and energy. 0:42 - great way to have fun with the "games made out of cardboard" concept and set out to people who may not have seen your channel before what they ought to expect. The music for this whole sequence is perfectly pitched as well. 1:12 - as someone who had difficulty with Dell computers in the past, "Dell = Hell" is funny 'cause it's true! 1:17 - the cardboard flame is another good way to steadily ramp up to the cut-out action later. 1:34 - this genuinely surprised me! Entertainingly OTT! 2:02 - petting the dog is the last deep breath before diving in. 2:20 - some might say that the obvious sticks for moving things look crude, but I like them - the lo-fi aesthetic makes it seem playful and emphasises that this is a garage-kit hand-made personal and passion project made with enthusiasm. 2:44 - the screen-melt here is fine, but I think it would have been more thematic if you showed it getting pulled through a paper shredder. Not a problem though. 3:16 - a great thing throughout this entire video is the tactile element to it - that you didn't just cut up the zombieman but had him splatter fluids on the pillar behind it was when this started becoming really special. 3:36 - well-gibbed paper scraps! 5:02 - the flare-up here looked like real torture for the monster! 5:12 - This shot had lots of depth to it - the shaking hanging bodies was when the cardboard construction came into its own and made it feel fully 3D. 5:38 - the fact that the monsters aren't just flat paper-doll cut outs but have their own bits inside them is another great effect. I liked the sputtering hose too, it emphasises the monster's technoguts. 6:32 - I enjoyed you breaking the fourth wall here. A lot animation these days done on computer frankly just seems like witchcraft to me, so a note on how a physical effect is practically achieved is actually quite nice. 6:58 - this definitely puts the cover to Andrew WK's "I Get Wet" album to shame! 7:04 - This is my favourite gore shot of the video with how wet everything looks and how he's slumped into the corner. You really get a sense that the Heavy Weapons Guy has been churned into mulch. 7:26 - as so many TH-camrs are obsessed with zero-damage speedruns, admitting that other players might need to reload once in a while makes the video more relatable. 8:14 - this whole Archvile resurrection sequence was cool, I wasn't expecting it and it's good effort for you to include reconstruction effects on the monsters too. 8:20 - just a small niggle, but personally I think this was one shot where you should have masked out your hand, it did draw attention away from the Spider Mastermind's animation which was relatively complex and multi-jointed compared to the other monsters. 8:30 - I did like the rhyme here, inventive choice of words for making it fit. 9:28 - wow, the man himself! What a treat! Cool of him to do stuff for fans and cool of you to get him on-board 9:41 - that even the small mob monsters have a hint of guts as well adds texture and depth and is good attention to detail. 9:51 - another good 3D effect here with the recessed lighting. 10:16 - perfect nostalgia right there. 10:46 - not skimping on the outro just ties it off with a bow. Thank you for sharing all your creativity and craft with us!

This video certainly is something special. I like how authentic you've made it look while retaining many personal touches that elevate it further. All the time, effort, thought and love put into it shows in the video. It is truly wonderful. It's also nice to see John Romero helping out with his appearance and the permission given by Aubrey Hodges and Brandon Wiebe to help elevate the video to higher extents. (and a thanks to anyone else who may have helped behind the scenes) But most of all thank you for putting this all together. However normally towards the end things pop up, I often find after a Violent grisly hellish game like doom its nice to visit something maybe a little more passive, I think I my of found something so stay tuned! ...Thanks for watching
