For real, this boss has no business being as tanky as this. Even Zero/ZX series only reserved 3-bar bosses for special occasions (not to mention your charged attacks were twice as strong there).
3 healthbars is ABSOLUTELY not needed for a beginner player, for sure, but once you know the mechanics of the game and Fox's attack patterns it becomes somewhat trivial
@@StormGallade I don't think mastering a fight makes it trivial. Even if you can now win excellently, it doesn't cancel out all of the previous effort required to get there; otherwise, all bosses in all games could be considered trivial with practice.
Yeah, learning his patterns and conquering them is definitely not easy, especially with the unique attack he has in phase 2. Though, I kinda appreciate the way the multiple health bars separate the phases, making buster-only battles against any boss kind of a thrill, and all the (relatively) simpler when you have the weakness weapon. Granted, I can only really say that with VR Spark Mandrill, but with his newer moves, I got caught off-guard a few times, too. Good thing there's an easy mode, for the people who just wouldn't bother. Granted, I stuck to my guns on Normal Mode, and took a number of game-over retries learning him blind. Not gonna chance Hard Mode, personally speaking.
Possible. There's a Xtreme reference in the game, and the game seems to replicate how Xtreme is a demake interqual side-story set in-between the series. The premise is intriguing as well, as I think it's realistic that after the Hunters commited such massive mistake of destroying Repliforce for defending themselves and pursuit independence, obvious it would caused outrage in society for their rash judgement and Reploids begins to fear humans as well.
@Gundgok for me the reason it’s actually good, even great is because someone who actually cares about mega man is the one making it, not just a company who wants to make money
Got him and the VR mission done (Normal). Made me so angry I almost popped a blood vessel. Three health bars is fine but also a true test of skill. I fear whatever Sigma will be, that guy always makes me so mad that I want to chew nails.
I just beat Chilly Fox. On hard... No upgrades. And after so many tries i finally beat him. It was a close one too. I was at 1 HP too after i beat him!
I know it's supposed to be boss battle music, but I'd like to pick your brain as to why the theme is the way it sounds. Like, putting danger aside, what other emotion am I ,as the player, supposed to be feeling? What are the long "woooo" portions? Are those alarm sounds? I like the theme with the tension and uneasiness it has but why does it sound not as aggressive? I'm guessing it's got to do with the main story idea of needing to figure out if they've actually gone maverick or not.
Those "woo" sounds can be interpreted in many ways, one of them being an alarm yes, that means something dangerous is happening, you're being attacked, the reason to why the theme doesn't sound as aggressive is because its supposed to be what X is feeling, he still has that thought in the end of x4 of what would happen if he goes maverick, chilly fox also was a loved hero just like him, he knows chilly fox and doesn't want to hurt him, but he knows he has to fight to stop the damage he's causing, there's two endings to this battle with both having different victory themes that also represent X's feelings on how did the situation go.
I definitely feel the intensity in this. My blood is pumping when I listen to this and I feel like I can take on the game and boss when it’s playing. Everything you mentioned is why I feel that way. But I like drives and melodies.
Today I am searching for information about Megaman X's information in my resting time, and I suddenly find out that there is a spare or destroy boss choice. Therefore, I open the game again and check what will happen if I do not save the villager. Watching Chilly Fox start exploding makes me depressed. Since I always read the dialogue and save the villager, this scares me. The mission-cleared music was changed too. It makes me feel that it is clearly not a mission accomplished. Can't wait for the day that version 1 was released
oh hey it's the "getting my ass beaten by chilly fox for 423th time" theme
on god lmao im fighting him on hard mode too

The true Megaman Xtreme 3?
Maybe.
Xtreme 3 Kiwami
there was never an original xtreme 3

the:getting destroyed by chilly fox 30 times song
Damn you chill fox
I have been hearing this for a day now. I do know why that is. It is just absurdly catchy.

I'm fighting Chilly Fox on *EASY* and he's STILL beating my ass into the pavement. I think him having three health bars is absurd.

@@GaoSilverX6617 I envy you.
I can no-damage the first phase, but only because I kept dying to the second HP gauge.
I hate you, now I'm addicted to this song +_+
Im 100% going for good reputation when this game releases.
I am now realizing how many DBZ vibes i get from this, its just the beat and the bass thats giving me them
Cant wait for remixes of this boss theme though, its too good to be forgotten
Tremendo arreglo te mandaste hermano
Una obra maestra 20/10 y God
This is a _boss battle_ theme? It sounds like a level theme to me.
jodida obra maestra y muy god 20/10

Who needs dodging when you have the First Armor dash? ...When it works, that is.
Is that the sunsoft bass in a megaman game?
As a person who has never played as X1-X3 and only ever played zero, Chilly Fox gave me PTSD.
You are saying you started the Megaman series with Zero?? And skipped the X series??

Where’s the theme music that’s played during the dialogue? That sounds dope too.

I don't get the comments. The fox is actually pretty easy. Same goes for the bosses in general.
