Spot on regarding anti social behaviour mate if i was drunk in past and some1 made a comment or move i was unhappy with im more likely too open the fridge than avenues of my own self destruction contemplating revenge in a drunken rage.

If its so harmful why is Britain the biggest so say medical cannabis, no difference, in the world, we should also free up farmers to grow hemp as well, hemp is fantastic at soaking up carbon dioxide, trouble is it all controlled by big pharmaceutical companies thats why government wont legalise it, follow the money.
This comment got point
this is what weed haters dont understand. alcoholics can be dangerous and a stoner isnt gonna smash you in the face
If the concern is negative reactions then surely alcohol should have been banned years ago
💯
Freedom to choose is better than banning anything. Education is key. It’s possible to use cannabis properly and without getting negative effects if you limit the time and frequency you use it. CBD balances it out too. Andrew Huberman’s podcast on cannabis is a must watch for anyone who wants to or already does use.
Exactly - this is 100% the argument I go by. If we are to have any consistency whatsoever in drug legislation we really need to either:
A) outright ban alcohol and tobacco which are objectively more harmful than cannabis
B) Legalise cannabis considering it's less harmful than the above
C) Stop legislation on what people can or can't put in their bodies
These are the three clear path avenues and if people don't begin to act fairly and consider what others like to do to relax alongside what they use themselves then you'll find people who are pro alcohol yet anti cannabis will eventually lose the right to drink alcohol as simply out of spite many people will push to ban alcohol to prove a point eventually and there will be heavy support from the Islamic communities as it's already against their religion to drink alcohol period.
@@mkaykaykayyI agree with this, honestly no government should be banning substances - people should instead be educated very early on surrounding substance abuse and side effects.
At the end of the day if people want to do a drug they will find a way to do it and while it's illegal it's much lower quality than a well regulated drug market. Where the argument of cost comes up from those who do abuse - that's what the taxation should cover if done correctly.
Alcohol for example in the current system costs the UK more than it makes the UK (EST. £12.6bn into the UK in 2023, while the cost for NHS + social schemes is EST £3.5bn for the NHS and £21BN for social schemes) - this isn't to say the tax isn't enough, the problem is the UK is poor at optimising spending. Considering rehab is covered within the realm of the NHS here - it's baffling to consider why over 5* the funds is going to social schemes as opposed to actual treatment for those seriously suffering as the cost for prevention and lesser rehab social clubs should be considerably less - particularly considering group settings.
So the main challenge here is mismanagement of public funds as opposed to should the drug be legal or not be legal as in any consistent world - yes it should be legal or if not both alcohol and tobacco should be illegal also. People simply want the government out of their lives as they can manage their own lives and finances much better than the government can it appears
@james970027 Precisely this!
It’s embarrassing that an adult can tell another adult you can’t smoke but, go load up on caffeine, nicotine and alcohol….

This whole conversation is just nonsense, there is no category of cannabis called 'skunk', there was a popular strain in the 80s and 90s called 'skunk #1' and the UK tabloids decided that this one random strain of cannabis was deadly and somehow different from 'normal cannabis'.
I actually thought about growing Skunk #11(Dutch Passion) for my first legal run... but then I settled for Purple Cookie Kush :D
The reason the UK media chose 'Skunk' is simply because the animals are smelly pests.

It’s actually a disgrace that the government hasn’t legalised it for personal use yet. People are losing their jobs in drug tests for this, for fuck sake!
There's the irony, we could choose to drink liquid heroin every single night (and maybe even in the daytime too) and nobody bats an eye. It is a disgrace. No reason for alcohol to be legal when given the biological science.

Half of the people in the UK smoke weed already, the risks would have shown by now. Just get it legalised
The whole world should just legalize it for personal use. The only crime surrounding weed is the fact that its illegal.
I'm no user or ultra-liberal. But, legalising it will A) free up prison spots for more deserving criminals, B ) generate a lot of tax revenue, C) take away the criminal gangs' ability to profit from the drug, and D) offer pain relief for those that need it. Really seems like a no-brainer at this point. The feckless wasters that sit around getting wasted, already know where to obtain it anyway. So, society won't get any worse if it's made legal.
Yeah right, as a smoker I would still grow my own. And I will sell my excess tax free. I WILL NEVER PAY TAX ON WEED.........
@@danielturner9027 Yeah right. Do you get this animated with VAT on carrots or potatoes? So quit the indignant freedom-herb cliches. No reason weed should be exempt, unless you're a tax dodger.
Easiest way is to regulate the sale and decriminalize crop growing, that kills the illegal drug business model and allows the sale for medical reasons and also should prevent unnecessary spots being taken in prisons
Regulation will also stop any additives being put in - things that many users right now are unaware are there at the present time! It will also alert users to the dosage that they take as regulation will mean that users will be aware of the amount of active ingredients that is in each dose and they can educate themselves to which dose they are most comfortable taking.
@@danielturner9027 The German law is good in that people can grow their own cannabis. No need to pay tax if you are consuming your own plants.
They don't mind selling alcohol and cigarettes, and the government love the tax profits, and these tow alone causes more problems for the NHS, than weed does
The tax they put on cigarettes is literally also like 200% the actual cost of the product - i.e in Barcelona a pack is still €5-6 while in the UK it's close to £15-16 so considering the number of people who actually get lung cancer and who smoke this tax across smokers should more than cover treatment costs - yet they claim it doesn't similarly to alcohol which is another odd one:
Alcohol for example is estimated to cost the NHS £3.5bn per year (and it's the NHS who can also be used to freely access rehab for it), while "social schemes" get £20bn a year for alcohol related purposes, over 5* what the NHS get.
I fear the main problem we have in the UK in the area of addiction isn't the massive costs caused by addicts but more so the abdominal management of taxpayer funds - if you're spending 20bn a year in "social schemes" I'm extremely eager to see the finer details of where all these funds are going and why more isn't allocated to the NHS instead who would be assumedly better versed and skilled to educate people on substance abuse.
I’ve literally never met a single person in my entire life having to go to hospital for weed use.

I can breathe a little better now, my dreams are more vivid, not coughing up brown gack well very little brown stuff in phlegm compared to when I first quit, energy levels are coming back and I am motivated to actually do stuff now. I can see why people enjoy weed but for me personally having smoked it every day for years it does catch up to you and affects the lungs quite badly. They don’t ever give this side of cannabis any credit as they are too busy setting the narrative that cannabis has negative side effects when it comes to mental health and it’s simply not true for many people that suffer with depression.
The thing about cannabis is it’s almost instant in it’s effectiveness to relieve depression but those so called anti depressants make you feel worse ( they say to begin with but get better after a while) and the side effects are awful!
Yep, in all honesty you find a large portion of the top earners in this country are quietly drug addicts.
Cocaine for example is massive in multiple industries - I'm not saying it's healthy in all cases, but what I am saying is that it really does show there is a difference between people who handle drugs in moderation and those who don't have the same level of control and let the drugs run their life.
The answer has always been to educate people as opposed to banning items but the UK has a bad habit of choosing the easy option every time which has led to people on average in society becoming fundamentally less and less capable at doing anything.
My partner and I are similar to you - he's in the top 1% of earners and smokes on a daily basis while struggled before it.

Since the UK is one of the world's largest cannabis exporters......
Where do they find these so called experts from?
You can't judge the effects of something you've never used. If they were in as much pain as me and millions of other people are they would do anything to help alleviate the suffering. They talk about the so called negative effects but ignore the fact that they prescribe powerful opiates for minor conditions. The private prescription shambles they set up in the UK isn't patient orientated and all they're interesting in doing is grabbing as much money as they possibly can from desperate people trying not to step outside the law.
We need patient led support for people suffering from conditions that have not responded to conventual medicine and the government needs to ensure that the current system is brought to heel so it's not just available to those that can afford the rip off prices the private clinics are charging. Legalizing it would do away with the need for private clinics monopoly and ensure everyone had access to what has become the norm in many other countries.

My college teachers used to go to the pub at lunch, I’ve literally seen people who worked next door to the pub I worked at come in for a pint on their break and I seen people in the pub I work at, go to the pub around the corner and have quick drinks on break. Also you do know there’s levels to being high! There’s 100% where you cont even move and then there slight buzz where your more calm and relaxed but still able to function as you would if you want high. When I used to smoke I would work slightly high, no one knew. All it did was make dealing with angry, rude customers more tolerable. You’re talking from a point of ignorance.
@@brumtownmiller6130 my point is and your missing it when u legalise something it’s almost promoting it and we have proof of this bc as soon as they started selling those stupid vapes they spreaded around the country kids and everyone was using them at school at work literally all day everyday. Vapes have been around ages they only started becoming that popular when they started becoming easily available. If weed become easily available in shops the same will happen and the whole country will be lazy weed smokers
PLS LEGALIZE WORLDWIDE !!!! greetings from germany ...
legalize now!
We should've followed suit after Canada did, and the same goes for psilocybin based fungi. Cannabis stops me from having seizures and helps with my pain and chronic insomnia. Psilocybin is also known to help brain plasticity, and has been shown to help people with depression and addiction. We desperately need to grow up regarding a lot of banned substances.
Medical cannabis is already legal...
The fact people still go to prison over a plant is baffling...
They go to prison for saying norty words on Scotland now
They don't though, no one is locked up for possession, possession isn't illegal, its the supplying and trade which illegal, which even includes sharing a joint with a mate.
Guess heroine and cocaine should be legal too 😂
@jamesl5203 if people only tried to consume the plant then that would be fine, but they don't, they fuck with it
@@jamesl5203 a more correct analogy would be alcohol given that it is objectively far more dangerous and the most easy to access drug
100% and it already has for many thousands of medical users.
Keep alcohol legal and legalise cannabis and treat them the exact same way
A basic human right, free to choose, free to drink, free to smoke, free to abstain, it is about choice.
Everything in moderation. Alcohol creates more problems for society than anything else, yet it is legal! No one talks about making alcohol illegal.
If legalised, revenue could assist with the economy, nhs, etc...
Big pharmaceutical companies won't allow it.
The NHS needs it, tax it and give some of the profits to the NHS.
Yet our pharma comps are allowed to grow and export tons of it.
Who's the dealer? The lad in a flat or the gov sponsored pharma comps making millions? 🤔
Silly argument, who do you think is patenting the new strains lol.
Unless they can make profits in Canada or the US where it has helped millions come of the criminally pushed Oxycontin peddled by the Sacker family of doctors

I know people who have Smoked Cannabis for Decades, They work normal jobs during the day and Relax on an evening with A Joint, They enjoy Food and Drink, Watch Movies and Roll another Joint, A Lovely way to end the Day!
How do you know it doesn't affect them in anyway shape or form or not dependant on it. Do you live in their body !? Also judging by your name smoking illegal drugs I'm sure would not be allowed in your religion !?
i find the whole dependant topic hilarious yes getting dependant on something that fixes your brain is so bad right? :')@@winbig1

@@winbig1 And how do you know it does affect them or they are dependent? Do YOU live in their body? I'm a medical user, I have been prescribed it for over a year and take it every single day, from morning until I go to sleep. I vape it 5 times a day, 7 days a week. It has changed my life and helped me like no medication or therapy ever did. I am able to live my life now after almost 30 years of suffering and trying to fight with medication that was not only useless, but has left me with permanent side effects that haven't left me even years after stopping the medication. Not one person who doesn't know I'm a medical user is able to tell I have vaped cannabis even immediately after I've done it. It is what lets me function as a healthy part of the society.
Why not treat it like booze? Over 18s, taxed, licensed outlets, illegal to smoke and drive etc
Exactly
my exact point, it doesnt make sense. let people do what they want. Plus weed isnt as bad as people make it out to be, it helps people with pain, some mental illnesses etc
Well that would involve common sense witch a lot of our politicians seems to be deficient in
They haven’t figured out how to make the most tax profit from it yet because the illegal market is so massive over here so they’ll keep it illegal until they cut everyone else out the game and they can control it and ramp up the price.
Illegal to drive would be impossible because it shows up in your system long after you're sober and will show up much higher results for frequent users like medical users (I'm a medical user already, it's legal to drive if you are not impaired when you are a medical user for this very reason).
I live in Japan which has very strict drug laws and a very low rate of drug use. Go figure.
Would be great to see this on, this morning. Everyone blazing it up
Alcohol ruined my life and I've never been in trouble for smoking
It's a god-given plant and has been used since the start of time on this planet, i always thought it was disgusting for a government to overrule god!!
Like coca leaf and poppies? Both natural, but really rather harmful actually. Bad argument I postulate.
@@ftw1540 and tobacco.
I'm a fan of cannabis but the "its just a plant, it grows naturally argument" is ridiculous.
Toxic mold also grows naturally but you wouldn't smoke it would you lol
I dont know a lot about poppies, but the traditional use of coca leaves isnt really dangerous. Can help with high altitude sickness etc. The dosage is what makes it dangerous, like a lot of other things in life. A glass of wine/ beer or a joint on the weekend? Not really dangerous. But everyday? Not so good imo.
@@ftw1540 Difference is, were smart enough to know which is good and bad, so you just making a counter argument for the sake of arguing, makes you invalid.
Like comparing alcohol to petrol - both drinkable, but we wont drink both will we?
@@ftw1540 yes like coca leaf and poppies. they can be harmful, sure, but their full harm potential only got unlocked when they got illegalised. literal criminal enterprises, rivaling governments in power, were built on this prohibition. additionally it gave way for more harmful substitutes, especially opiates like heroin and fentanyl.
Why no one ever mentions that it's already legal on private prescription, through a company partly owned by politicians is beyond me
I smoke weed every day. I work out every morning at 4:30 to workout for an hour then go to work Monday to Friday. Weed makes my anxiety go away to be able to push on every day. It's idiots that don't understand that call it a drug but will let you have alcohol which destroys lives daily.
Britain is the second biggest producer of medical cannabis and the biggest exporter of medical cannabis.
People against it just keep banging the same drum.
The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome!!!.
It being illegal HAS NOT WORKED AT ALL!. we must change our approach.
The most baffling argument against it in my eyes I've seen is "but it smells bad" - really shows the lack of understanding towards the entirety of cannabis based products out there (including their profitability) on top of neglecting to bear in mind the fact that.... What people cook smells, some people in public smell... Farmers spreading manure smells...Effectively a smell isn't an argument against doing something.
@@james970027fair enough but it still stinks
@@james970027the worse one is when they say the smell makes them feel dizzy lol
@@james970027 its a pungent headache inducing smell that contains most of the same chemicals as 2nd hand smoke, its wild to me that people are so against tobacco which is getting closer and closer to becoming illegal but will drop everything to support cannabis and its actual brain damaging effects, clearly I'm the minority and it will become legal someday... then in about 30-50 years the results will be clear as day when the youth are more brain damaged than ever and its conclusively found to be the same as if not worse than smoking tobacco.
Beer smells, cider smells, some people's perfume gives me asthma and the government stinks but I don't see those getting banned
Also, those council estates are full of much more alcohol, a legal drug and a DEPRESSANT.
Plus, 1 in 30 adults are alcohol DEPENDENT while a whopping 44% of adults in the UK consume alcohol EVERY SINGLE DAY; which to me sound like ALMOST HALF of the British population are alcoholics.
Now remind me, how many smoke weed every single day in legal countries; oh yeah, one in ten.
Also, alcohol being legal has wiped out the illegal market hasn’t it. Maybe if actually give weed the amount of time alcohol has had to develop brands, price brackets, product divergence and proper commerce; then you would wipe it out. Drawing conclusions from other countries where it’s only been legal a decade or two is nonsense. Plus, while not the black market hasn’t gone for weed in those countries, it has seen a significant reduction.
You can get medicinal cannabis in UK on prescription and is fairly easy all thats needed is to be prescribed by your doctor for an issue you have that isn’t suitable for
60 % of uk citizens use cannabis the fact this plant is still illegal, and in the hands of criminal gangs is insanity.

Britain is one of the biggest exporters of cannabis , with many uk politicians having a sustainable share in the business that grow it. As someone who has just started the process to get a prescription, I am annoyed that it even has to be like this. All the people that benefit daily from using cannabis and yet don’t have access to regulated do buy on the black market with a chance it could be mixed. When we have fully regulated medical grade cannabis grown right here but sold elsewhere instead of to uk citizens. It’s hypocritical and political and beyond backwards. People should be allowed to have autonomy over their own health.
Floating about in the air put there by selfish drug addicts
No why should the government get to sell drugs when they have locked millions of people up for the last how ever long are they gonna remove weed from there records and compensate them for the fines they had to pay and lost time because of going to jail for a few ozs of weed . so no they shouldnt be allowed to make it legal its called being a hipper crit
If you have a room full of drunk people and a room full of people high on weed. Which room is going to be more dangerous and violent?? I think that study should proove which substance should be illegal right there!
in germany some people now say its boring and they want to stop because its legal
He said it right there.... drug dealers have a plethora of different drugs. And you want to protect people. So, on the illegal market the dealer you decide to buy cannabis from can offer you different drugs, even a test or two for free. THIS!!! will never happen on a regulated market. Also on the legal market you have to be of age.
I think there's another thing that is always missed when talking about cannabis and the mental health problems supposedly associated with it. When I used to do it, I knew it was illegal which made me paranoid to the point where I would wait until 2am to smoke it in my garden because I didn't want my neighbours smelling it and thinking of me as a junkie whilst raising 2 school aged kids. I was paranoid driving after I had picked it up in case I got stopped and lost my license, I was worried that if I went out anywhere after smoking it people would see my eyes being red or smell it on me and knows I was on it. Now, my point is, are the mental health aspects of it actually from the product itself, or from living a life of a criminal trying to hide it from the law and the stigma of being a druggy for wanting to use a relaxing meditative plant instead of the legal highs like alcohol where I couldn't give a crap what people thought of me while I was using? I would like to see it legalized with age limits and ID checks in the UK.
My belief is the paranoid schizophrenia is mostly from living paranoid about it because it is illegal, the fact it's got stronger than it used to be and it's sometimes now sprayed with dodgy chemicals to give it different flavours.
This can all be negated by legalising it with the bonus of it topping up the governments money pot and freeing up police time for more serious crimes like children being stabbed every day in London.
Also no one mentions the fact that schizophrenia is present at 1% in the human population and increase in cannabis use has gone up exponentially since the 70s. Absolute rhetoric and fear mongering keeps people compliant
@@benjones2847 I agree. Also when you think about it, it really doesn't make sense does it when some countries have legalized, others, it's a criminal offense. Tonight I've drunk 4 (strong 6%) beers and I'm starting to do what I usually do when I drink.....think of the good times I had pre marriage, pre kids and now I'm feeling a bit sad about my life. If I had any smoke, I'd be sitting here relaxing listening to chilled music feeling happy instead. But for me to be happy and chilled I'd be a criminal in the UK, but it's ok for me to drink as much as I want, feel sad and then if I drink too much get aggressive and emotional. Where's the sense in that? My plugs abroad on holiday so I'm not getting any smoke for another week or so sadly.
