alot of things have changed, i left saigon in august 1987. never have a chance to come back. miss saigon so much
Had my wedding reception there in 1996 and the hotel did an excellent job with everything. Not sure if they still have it but they had spectacular food buffets. Completely opposite of street food for an interesting change of pace. The Cat Walk Bar was one of the places the high rollers from Korea and China went.

My first stop is always the New World Hotel. Cordial staff and I love the pool. Later, I move to the Park Hyatt for a few days.
My last stay is always the Caravelle Hotel. Many a happy night up at the Saigon Saigon bar. Enjoy chatting with the bartenders and the staff. If I am vacationing in Vietnam, I am doing it first class! Thanks for reminding what I am missing! Keep on trucking'!!

New World is one of the hotels I goto. Pretty good lil breakfast buffet. idk if they're still doing it but they have pool parties on particular saturdays
if you want a goodnight sleep you should opt for those big hotels like New World Hotel, especially if you are staying in District 1 or similar areas.
Out in like District 7 any 3 stars hotel will do, it's quiet out there.

Lol, gyms are hard to find.. I went to a hotel with pics of a gym room but when we arrived there were only 2 equipment.

Hi Kyle ... I am NOT saying you are doing business with the New World Hotel. My take is that your business is MAKING VIDEOS FOR YOUR CHANNEL. And, the making of this video was about introducing Y. Kim and the New World Hotel. It is all good. I prefer the FOOD clips and info. on cheaper hotels.

Has anyone actually looked at the higher end suites here? They are not great, price or quality. I think it was $900 for the presidential suite. They showed me the room and the layout was nice. However, it looked like a party had just happened in the room and the hotel staff were not able to clean the stains out of the carpet. It was probably a spilt bottle of wine but looked more like a pool of blood. I asked about the things I saw and the really strong smell of cigarettes. Decent standard rooms, great staff, rooms with comfy beds but doesn't deserve all of the hype it gets. What this hotel has going on for it is a pretty nice pool and great lobby.
Plenty of other hotels that are much better for this price range. Try any of the Apartment Suites like Sherwood or Somerset. The somerset gives you a full 2 bedroom apartment that is about 1200sq ft. Wifi included for the same price.

wow - this hotel is just $100 per night - San Antonio Marriott is $250 per night - its nice but i weren't said it was luxury
The base salary and accomodation price in Vietnam is much lower than the US , 100$ is unaffordable for many people
Make sure to check the inner layer of the blanket. Human fluids, semen yellow stain on it. Looks like they never wash the inner blanket. I found my blanket was dirty. I show the room service lady the yellow stain spots on the blanket and asked to change a new one but when I came back, she put it back the same one in the cover.
Disgusting for the 5 stars hotel that not provide the 5 stars service as it costs.
New World hotel cost at least $100 a night , expensive
+Tran Pham $100 for 5-star is cheap. I hope to stay there in a couple of months.

A regular hotel, not fancy in Seattle runs 200 a night. 100 is a steal!

Caravelle is nicer.
The one hotel i dislike because of its no friends after 9pm policy. New world is way overhyped because of bill clinton. Other than that is just average. There are so many other better hotels like the intercontinental, nikko, sheraton and many more.
Sorry to tell the truth. 5 star hotel needs to change the chef. Saigon streetfood offers much better than this. Foods look all wrong especially "my hoanh thanh" from the choice of noodle which looks like "bun" not "my" to the broth color. Called "my hoanh thanh" but I don't see any "hoanh thanh" in the bowl.
There's no doubt, but some people can not eat street food. They're not trying to serve authentic food here, they're trying to serve food that is catered towards westerners and children.
