    This is one of the best reviews I have seen in a long time here in TH-cam. Thank you so much for going in-depth on each aspect of the camera. The inability to delete a clip on the SSD on the field was a shocker. Been contemplating buying a Mavo and your review did shed lot of light on so many aspects of this camera I wanted to ask. Thank you so much for doing this.

      Thank you very much. Kinefinity at one point did have the ability to delete clips, however they got rid of it because they were getting inundated with emails from people asking for help retrieving accidentally deleted clips. I feel like those people kind of ruined it for the rest of us. This is why I put that quote "Maybe just the option?", hoping that Kinefinity would see their way through to adding a base option in the firmware to activate this ability, with the caveat that they won't help you get them back if make a mistake.

    Nice,
    I’m really thinking of buying the terra 4K now that a higher FPS is coming.
    How is the work flow in these cameras?
    I heard the cdng has color problems in davinci! So that has me stumped on pulling the trigger
    I have a gh5 and 2 pockets 4ks I would sell one pocket if I buy the terra, but trying to fig out if it is worth the extra few thousands

    • @BhTFilms
      @BhTFilms  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The work flow is straight forward, but this obviously depends as much on how you shoot/review/backup as it does on the firmware file system. The cdng no longer has problems in Davincii. Jihua, the president, posted in the forum about this topic, where he also gave the proper project settings for Davinci. This was an error on my part, I forgot to include these settings in my review. completely slipped my mind. I haven't used the pocket 4K, so I can't give fair input there unfortunately.

    I would like to ask you about the sound. At the beginning you mention that you are happy with the sound, but in tests, in my opinion, everything except XLR - NTG-3 is super noisy, I would say unusable. Do you really manage to generate a good sound using a 3.5 mm connection?

    • @BhTFilms
      @BhTFilms  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there are a couple of factors here to consider. All mics were placed about a foot from my face. So consider that the NTG-3 - a shotgun mic, is placed one foot from my face in a quiet room - it better be the best sounding mic in the lot considering those conditions. I normalized sound to 0 db, obviously this is going to pick up the noise floor a bit, depending on the mic. I personally think the 3.5mm sound I'm getting is more limited by the quality of the mic than the connection. With minimal sound editing, I'm able to produce what I consider to be acceptable sound from the 3.5mm. That being said, I'd like to upgrade away from the rode videomic pro to something better. I also chose the EMW because of limited cord noise and water resistance. That being said, you will no doubt get better sound from the XLR than the 3.5 mm as I think the tests obviously show, so if it worries you, I think your best bet is to throw the Kineback on and use a proper shotgun for run and gun. I have done this in certain situations.

    • @BhTFilms

      No. However, you will find several people on the public forum who have made music videos with either it or the LF and at least one person who has filmed a feature with the LF. I'm sure they could give some thoughts. I also gave some more in depth thoughts on this in my convo with Jean-phillipe below.

    Not sure i understand correctly your part about rolling shutter, is it good or is it bad?

    • @BhTFilms
      @BhTFilms  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry about the understated nature of that clip. The rolling shutter ironed out a bit when rendered, so it was less noticeable. There certainly are times when the rolling shutter is unacceptable, mostly during handheld or similar footage at high frame rates. I would advise for erring on the side of caution when planning shots of that nature, mitigating where possible, swinging the camera left/right.

      @@BhTFilms How is the overall stability of the camera, does it crash often? would you trust it going on a big set?

    • @BhTFilms
      @BhTFilms  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stidkriss I'd like to answer this question more accurately, but the thing is, there's a new firmware out. Each firmware seems to increase the stability of the camera. I hadn't updated the firmware because I was in the middle of some contracts and wasn't willing to risk issue, since I don't live close to a rental house. I still get a bug here or there, but they are always just small UI glitches that can be resolved by changing to a different screen and coming back. Rarely do they require a reboot. Because of the lack of UI on the side screen, I still consider the Firmware version I'm using, a Beta. My assumption has been that the New Firmware is probably even more stable, in which case, yes I'd use it on a big set. However, if I was going to be on a big set, where money is flying out the window for crew and B or A listers, I'd also make sure I had at least two, tested backup cameras, and I'd have contacted Kinefinity and made them aware that I'm using their product on a big production and I expect that if I have issues, someone knowledgeable is ready and willing to answer the phone or service the camera on short notice. I think they'd probably be more than willing. They're good people.

      @@BhTFilms isn't rolling shutter due to capability of processor to process the image fast enough. i guess with the advancement in technologies this will be gone , but for now it is there and i think the more the image frame data the more pronounced it will be ..for 6k it will be more horrible than 4k and also the frame rate.
