It fascinates me the difference in other countries. It must be a warm location with the thickness of the insulation in that roof which would be around 80mm here. It must be a very high-performance board for that thickness. Also, any kerbs where I'm from need a min of 25mm insulation as there's nothing preventing cold bridging and that 45-degree edge also made from insulation as opposed to that piece of timber to prevent the same thing. And any flat roof lights require a 3-degree pitch.

No insulation around the skylight frame that extends above the roofline?

Nope. It isn’t necessary as the dimensional lumber if rubber applied tight, is a good enough insulator to avoid frost or condensation.

What's the "activator"?
Non-English/American here btw.
The activator is a catalyst chemical that activates the glue on the non cured rubber to make it stronger and more adherent to the existing epdm roof.
It fascinates me the difference in other countries. It must be a warm location with the thickness of the insulation in that roof which would be around 80mm here. "Bend it over... and nail it"
Deffenision of a sky light , whole in a perfectly good roof.
What?
@Angelo But you could understand it . Sometimes my spelling not so good.
Im going to MAAAAAK it.
Why the hell didnt you put the skylight in before the rubber roof?
Would have made a boring video
As a roofer, It is actually easier and safer(leakage wise) to do it the way they did in the video. It is a huge pain to lay new rubber around curbs.
But as the roofer, wouldn't you have rather done the job. Because you'll get the blame when it leaks? That is the inevitable weak spot, correct?

These episodes never show the finish or final steps like screwing it on or how it works afterwards
