I finally made the step onto the snap on truck and I bought my 1st ratchet a 3/8 F80 I always wanted good brand tools but never understood the price But then I say to myself I could be spending my money on worse things in life So why not invest in quality tools I'm glad I bought the ratchet it is a great ratchet so far I'd plan on keep buying snap on thanks to your videos , Other things I read is like why would you spend like why would you spend $150 on a ratchet when you can buy a set for that price but that set is trying to compete with snap on you are Better just 2 buy it once and buy it right. Snap on from hear on out I'm also going to buy the TL72 next.

Good video. One reason why small shop and individuals do not like snap on is 1. Attitude of tool truck dealers, not every dealer is like Jeremy Haasl ( #1 you tube snap on dealer) 2. High price of re branded tools like vise grips, which before were junk. 3. warranty problems with local dealers part of #1 Snap on does have the specialty tools that no one else has which is why I still deal with them. It is back to your saying "it is not the tool but the man on the truck selling the tool". Keep the snap on videos coming.

Love the snapon brand. I switched to snapon 12 years ago after buying Dewalt and other manufacturers' products witch often left me hanging on a job. Growing tired of this I spent some time researching tool manufacturers see who offered the best quality and longevity. Snap-on was always recommended. I made the switch and never had any issues or left hanging on the job 12 years later.

I love snap on tools! I love them because they are simply the best. I like matco and their ratchets but ultimately snap on has such a smooth ratchet and quality feeling. Just have to remember not to be a company fan boy and not every tool has to be a snap on. The people that hate them are jealous of the people that have them. It is not like they couldn’t have them to, they just can’t justify the price and want to be mad. It’s just silly. I can justify the price on their hand tools and they are worth the money. You don’t need 20 snap on ratchets but one or two nice ratchets and hand tools and your set for life.

Not necessary tools but I’m always happy when I use them. Hand tools are for life as well. I drive a truck/ mechanic at our shop and being out on a call or driving I can trust snap on shouldn’t fail me. I learned my lesson using cheap tools out away from the shop especially.

Without a doubt their hand tools are some of the finest quality on the planet, yet their diagnostic and other tools are not up to par. The biggest issue in this day and time is you can find comparable tools at many other places for more than half the price. If I were starting out as a mechanic today, I'd definitely not walk on a tool truck, but rather buy quality tools elsewhere and put the extra money in my pocket. I was a professional mechanic for 30 years and I just wish I had all the money back that I totally wasted on tool trucks over the years.

I feel that the people that complain about all snap on prices, are the ones that dont use the tools enough or for a living, to understand how important it is to have quality tools, that you love using. You have to have tools that you love using, it makes every job better when you have tools that you love using. I'm a chevy tech, and I will say, some of the prices, I cant justify paying myself, however, most of them I can justify. It's especially easy to justify the prices when its %100 made in the USA. People have been too comfortable and acclimated to buying dirt cheap tools that are made in sweat shops in china. With the way the economy is today, more people have to come to the realization that you have to start supporting American Made products again. Learn to budget and save money better on non essential things, so you can afford more expensive essential things that are 100% american made.

I like the fact that Snap On still makes a lot of their own stuff, pliers, screwdrivers, ratchets, sockets, etc. AND... a lot of those are still made in the USA... Matco, Mac and Cornwell make very little of what the sell with their name on it. Snap On also doesn’t hide what is USA made and what is overseas... their website lists country of origin for all their part numbers.... You can’t say that for all the tool truck brands

Snap On in my book is like Apple. You can like or dislike them, but you must admit they make high quality products.
As far as meters go, I have the fancy one with the WiFi app and the big screen. The app is handy, not just for seeing trends away from the meter, but to quickly capture data and put it in our Shared Drive. The screen is awesome. I like Fluke, but I traded in a Fluke for it b/c (a) he gave me a great deal on the trade and the meter, and (b) I haven’t seen a Fluke or any other meter with a screen like that.
Snap On tape measures are really nice and not that expensive. I have a Stanley at home and the Snap On at work. They both work great but the Snap On is a little nicer. And they were only a few dollars apart in price from what I recall. The one advantage I would give to the Stanley is the magnet on the end. But the auto lock and buttons on the Snap On are probably my favorite of any tape I’ve used. The markings on the tape are really easy to read as well.

A Duramax is a labor of love LOL. I have to admit, Snap-On is growing on me. Granted you pay more money but customer service is outstanding if you have an excellent rep. If you pay regularly they'll take care of you. If you are a regular and you struggle they'll work with you. I do like their ratchets dead blows and tool carts. I do like the Blue Point ratcheting wrenches. I also have a lot of their industrial brand Williams tools. Their 36 tooth ratchets are tough and Williams screwdrivers are identical to the older Snap-On hard handles. The problem with Williams is their warranty. It's a bear. I don't mind paying that extra for customer service and convenience. Some Snap-On products I particularly don't care for. Their wrenches tend to bite into your hands. I prefer Proto ASD and Wright grip 2.0's they fit better in my hands. My point is we all have preferences on what works and what feels comfortable in the hand. Comfort is important, that's something you can't put a price on. Your hands make you money.

I’ll be honest Clay I did buy one because I thought it would look nice in my garage 😂 I’m in law enforcement now but I still work on vehicles and mess around with the project vehicle but I do still buy my tool truck brand tools because I’m good friends with all my dealers now. But the snap on Jack is a good Jack idk if I agree with the pricing because I replaced all my first Gen harbor freight jacks for all the new low profile colored jacks and for me they all do the job right. As for the meter I own a snap on meter, a matco meter, and a fluke meter and they all work for me I just grab which ever one is closet to me or which ever box I’m working out of. Like you’ve said in many of your snap on Friday videos and I’ve said it to a lot of my buddies that tell me you own to many tools the tool truck comes to you so that’s a huge convenience instead of going out and searching or ordering and waiting for something you may need ASAP.

You know what else? When you “overpay” for a tool off the truck you’re helping an AMERICAN pay his way and earn a living and feed his family. We take care of our own here in the good olé USA. Yeah you COULD go to Harbor Freight or Home Depot and buy one at half the price. But you’re not helping the guy who comes to you once a week and takes care of you and has a family at home that counts on him. For fucks sake just leave us alone! We earned our money we can spend it how we want! Why do people care so much about what tools we buy? We like what we like. It’s our money! We earned it and we can spend it where we please. Yalls ain’t using it. We are. So kick rocks.

I think it’s how much they overcharge. It feels like you are getting used. No doubt they are better. But by how much.
    Prime example;
    Milwaukee Fuel 1/2 Impact Kit-$450
Snap on 1/2 Impact Kit- $1200
Milwaukee is superior in all aspects with a 5 yr warranty, with some of the best batteries out there.
But yet Snap-On costs over 2 and a half times more.
I could see if they cost maybe $100 or $200 more for the Truck driver and service. But you can’t tell me it cost them 2.5 times more to make an Inferior product.
When you see this, you start asking your self how much are they actually over charging us.
But all said and done, if I had the money or I made a lot of money as a Mechanic, yeah, I’d buy their sockets and ratchets. And go Milwaukee for power tools.
