    I joined my character mesh with armature and set it to automatic weight. But my character's clothing, accessories(earring, glasses, rings, hair, hair tie), eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, etc. none of them are following (they are their own object/layers separate from character mesh). Do I parent every one of these separate objects to my character mesh or do I parent these objects to my armature? In what order of the keys would I need to press to get everything to follow while keeping the weight?

    • @ForsythJC
      @ForsythJC 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm still somewhat new to Blender myself, but I found a tutorial online about this very issue. Long story short: You create a new bone on your armature in Edit mode near where you want the object to sit. Parent that bone to the rig. Also make sure to name it (Ear Attachment, Mouth Attachment, Eye Attachment, etc). Then place your objects where you want them on the model. Parent them to the rig as well. This should create/copy the armature's vertex groups to that object. Find the vertex group you want to use (earrings to the corresponding ear, for example), and select it. Then tab into Edit mode, select the entire object's mesh using A, and then assign it to that vertex group. Here's the link that I use (I hope it's not frowned upon referencing someone else's video). Also, if anybody else has better suggestions, I would be glad to hear them. Blender is a behemoth of a program to learn!

    • @FruitZeus
      @FruitZeus  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! So for something like that, I’d suggest starting to get into Marvelous Designer. The reason is mostly because of style. Once you start dealing with characters that have more detail, this stylized vibe won’t necessarily match in my opinion. That being said, you can absolutely still follow this workflow. I would just assume the marvelous Pipeline would be way more fit for that look.

    After ALT + H around 3:28. The separate mesh doesn't automatically become a copy. CTRL-C in the outliner. Then, CTRL-V makes a new object to scale as a shirt. ALT-S I learned works only in Edit mode also. This was really good though.
