That obsidian was all meant for blizzano, but I didn't remember to change the destination! I was so scattered that it took me several launch cycles of wondering where my obsidian was going before I figured it out. It was, and continues to be, a pleasure to play along with everyone. Cosmic archeology almost broke me, with all the office mugs!
Chlorine gas vents are amazing, build a room around them, fill the room with dasha salt vines, a pressure plate for sand and auto sweepers to feed the salt vines and remove the salt. it's sand positive and you get table salt
Better yet hook it up to a squeaky puft ranch and geotune both it and that salt water geyser. Water, salt and meat for essentially free granted these are the 4 things that echo absolutely hates but hey
This was really cool to see! I'm still on easy mode on the easiest asteroids, learning how to not kill my dupes 😅 but once I've got more of a handle on things I think it'd he a bunch of fun to play along with the chaos crew! It's awesome to see how differently everyone tackled their colonies! Thanks for sharing

Actually, the stupidity wasn't that bad- Peanutbutt convinced me to open my sulfur geyser that was trapped with a lot of sulfur gas (cause I needed a way in to build all that stuff up). I managed to build that and was having MAJOR issues with power trying to get the sulfur to cool. That, and other sulfur kept flashing so I couldn't enter the biome until it vented out. Suprisingly, the "stupidity" ended up making me make the tamer, although it not perfected.
Everytime i think I'm learning so much about the game I am reminded I know nothing. Seeing multiple uses of the same seed is so fun and I want to get back into the game after a week break
I wish we had a multiplayer Imagine you're on one asteroid and the other person is on the other far away from you, so you exchange rockets and resources between the dupes
Wow, just shows me I have so much to learn about contraptions & the way to utilise them no matter how many play throughs I watch, I get to the point I've made so many mistakes trying to cool something that it's easier to restart than sort the mess out 😂😂If only life was the same 🤣🤣
5.5 kilotons of magma per tile. Yes, that's a real unit. Weird quirk of metric system: by the rules of the system kiloton should be called gigagram, but nobody uses it like that, and start naming convention up from the ton. Probably that's because base unit of SI unit system is stated to be kilogram, not gram. And kilogram already has a prefix. So it becomes kinda messy when dealing with mass units. Also, kiloton and megaton are the units typically used for measuring nuclear bomb destructive potency, so it makes it much better here.
Cool to see what everyone came up with. I personally dislike abusing cheesy mechanics in ONI like infinite liquid storage but the designs are still pretty interesting.
Best part of the flipped asteroid is digging through the red hot vertical tunnel in a vacuum without suits (no reed fiber) and no gas masks (dupes expel co2 while wearing them). Then creating a tunnel through magma from above to get to the sulphur geyser.

I wish they would make some sort of multi player mod competitive or cooparative gamemode. They would have to tweek alot of things and alot of content from the single player would probably be cut but it would be so cool to play this woth more people.
Question.... When it comes to frame rate and making it easier on processor, is it better to build tiles in the space or is a vacuum better? I have been stripping planets, putting a few bits in storage, otherwise all clean. Then let the planet go to vacuum. Is it better to fill it with tiles? I figured vacuum, no temp, no pressure, no material or any calculations. ??? Love the bases.
chlorine vents are not useless. one vent can supply an entire colony worth of mushroom wraps. also, they can be used to create infinite sand, and supply the salt for rust deoxidizers, making rust the only limitation to the oxygen system. there are plenty of reasons to have a chlorine vent.
The interesting colony has been Kaleros... whats going on there.... but theres also alot of cool gadgets. Ghostrider is probs my fave tho, clean clean clean
Do you know where to get the Comfort bed skins from theoretically? Another question: ar e für Chaos seeds usually so extraordinary? Would love to try them out too!
From the Klei drops, which they've only done twice thus far. The first chaos seed (which was this one), was because a community member was having a rough time with a particular seed and Kalero wanted to play alongside them. Others joined to help them out and encourage them to keep going. This time along, we are playing vanilla Arboria (which was what the discord chaos crew voted) and Echo himself picked the seed on stream.
for a new series you should do a intermediate colony review. Not sure how you would classify players as intermediate but i was thinking colony's current at cycle 300-500 ish. Sort of like mid game base review for newer players. i would like to see something like that!
IMHO, any player that uses mods should not be in these videos. ANything beyond simple QOL type mods. Like use manually, or machine range. Those kind of mods.

also, this video was really interesting! seeing how some people went straight for refined metal heaven while others set up rocketry was really neat
