  • Slightly late to the party but we finally had the opportunity to get our first ride on the 2022 Kawasaki KX450. This bike was our 2021 450 Shootout winner so of course, we had high hopes for our 2022 first impression. Kawasaki made little to no change to this year's model, but rightfully so. We decided to put the green machine to the test at Cahuilla MX and include some insight to a few settings that may benefit you. Click play and listen to what Ping has to say about the 2022 Kawasaki KX450!

    I just bought the same bike same year and I love it. I've been on 2 strokes my whole life and I still love 2 strokes but I bought this bike and man do I love it it's A-blast great bike!

    I went to a 240mm rear rotor on my 2020 KX450.
    Ordered a Braking rotor, and a 2018 rear caliper mount. You only need those 2 parts.
    And in a pinch, I can use the rear wheel on my 2021 KX250 if I get a flat or something else.
    Only difference is the rim(2.15 on a 450, and 1.85 on a 250).
    I use 110/90-19 tire on my 250(sometimes factory 250's run 120's depending on track and rider), and 120/80-19 on my 450.
    The tire clears the swingarm.

    Love PING... probably going to buy a 22' or 23' as my first bike since 1997. Last bike was a 98' YZ 250, last ride was Mothers day, 2001- Competition Park Ca. Ready to get back to it, as an old man. ha

    I have a 2019 and love to. Only thing I dislike is the massive exhaust pipe

      Is it that the exhaust is huge or that the rear numberplate is tiny????

    Mean Green! I've been lusting after those Ride Red mosheens for years, but they can't hang... too many problems! Looks like I'll be staying Team Green for life!

      You don't like the kx or you was referring to the Hondas

    • @tcmx712
      @tcmx712 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do realise the 2 issues the crf450r suffered from last year were soft forks and mapping issues down low which is the exact 2 things the kx is criticised for haha

    be nice if they made a 1/4 turn kit(Dzus fastener) where the 8mm bolt goes for the left number plate when accessing the air filter.
    And side note, there's even less room in the 250 airbox, pain in the ass to get the air filter in and out.
    I cut the backfire screen out of my air filter cages. I think No Toil makes a filter cage without the screen.

    I have a 2021, I feel the dive in the forks on heavy front brake. So a click or 2 in on comp, a click or 2 out on rebound for forks and then a 1/4 out on high speed on shock? I love the bike, that’s it’s only quirk and really only noticeable going into a corner hard. I’d like to clean that up. The herky jerky idle speed to the line is insane.
