not the end, SR5 was confirmed but i am fairly certain they are starting a new with a new cast of characters. They confirmed it more or less with the release of SR4. I mean it is just the games got so ridiculous that it became retarded. They should make it a serious game but still have it full of shenanigans, like how SR4 when Pierce and the Boss sing along with one another in the car. Those were my favorite moments because it made the characters so human.
it is getting ridiculous but i've grown attached to the characters so much i want them to continue no matter how ridiculous it become. i would like to see them evolved from thugs, to presidents, to planet conqueror, and maybe become the universe leader. that would be dope. i mean they already put one alien in the game, would not be a far stretched for them to encounter another in their search for new home since planet they would find liveable would contain life of its own.

How many of you commentors actually played Saints Row 1? It was dubbed 'GTA clone' because of gameplay at the time. NOT because of story. Even GTA San Andreas didnt focus purely on gangs let alone gang warfare. Fast foward to 2015 and when was the last time a PURE gang driven game was released? Exactly; 2008/9 which was SR2. SR1/2 never were GTA clones, their diferences is akin to calling Dino Crisis a Resi clone purely because it shares the same engine. I'm all for SR1 remake!

I'm guessing that they will go with the "Find the Saints a new home for what's left for humanity" as the canon ending if they are gonna make more sequels to the current timeline (which is what I'm guessing they will do) cause it clearly sets up one. But if they decide to reboot the series they'll probably go with the "Have God recrate Earth and retcon the entire world of Saints Row" as canon, cause its basiclly a reboot, and maybe have the Saints be a cop squad and be the antagonists of the next game/ series .
In saints row 4 if you did all the side content, after you beat the main boss the saints discover a time machine and they go back in time to earth. i'm pretty sure that's the canon ending. they've also already stated that future games won't involve any of the characters that have been in previous games

Saints Row 1 and 2 was never like GTA. It had it's own feel and had a really good story. Saints Row 3 and 4 it just became completely boring like it was targeted towards kids almost.
Why does everyone like the recreation of the world ending? It's like a parallel universe where everything is different. I'd rather see how they proceed in the real universe. The Saints are a gang and will always be a gang, whether they are in the streets of Stilwater or on a spaceship above Steelport.

The ending where Gat asks God to recreate Earth would most likely be the canon ending if and when Volition decides to make "Saints Row 5". If you people don't remember or didn't know, "Saints Row" exist in the same fictional universe as the "Red Faction" series. The Earth can be seen in "Red Faction" and "Red Faction 2" (especially since "Red Faction 2" is set on Earth) and the evil corporation in the first game was a matter of fact the Ultor Corporation. Just pointing out what I know.
I imagine the “new world” ending and “find a new planet” ending can only occur if you get the ending in the normal story where you don’t use the time machine Zinyak had (you have to upgrade all of the main saints row characters/all of your friends via their own special missions)
The ending I chose was the Earth retcon ending - after all, the reconstruction of Earth was something I think a lot of us were playing for in Saints Row 4 - but it doesn't leave the satisfaction that I was hoping for. Watching all these endings they all seem over and done with almost as soon as they start. Actually the whole game seems over and done with so soon. I'm literally writing this after completing the game, which I only purchased two weeks ago. The activities in the game are fun and all, but the lack of story missions make it feel... well short-lived, at best, and at worst underdeveloped.
To all the guys asking why Johnnys arm is purple, it was infused with the power of Satan's halo which is how you use divine powers in the game. Kenzie (who you can also play as, alternatively) has the opposite arm infused as well.
I like the "retcon the entire world of Saint's Row" one - it basically restore the world and gives a pretty damn good AU set-up... and a more realistic one. Even though I know that the "find humanity a new world" end is probably going to be the cannon one if they make a new game, I can still dream, right?
God... this was like... exactly half of a brilliant game. It's everything I always wanted in the Saints Row finale, except... only half of it. It had so many things that I wanted in previous Saints Row games... a creative new cityscape! Supernatural powers! Freakin' WINGS! Oh, I always wanted to give my Boss wings. But I couldn't. Because half the stuff that WAS in the previous games is GONE. The customization is gone. The story missions are gone. My damn BOSS is gone. It's half assed, is what it is. It's half freaking assed. Oh, it's half of a great ass! Don't get me wrong. That's one half of one great ass. But that's not really a good thing, y'know? In fact, that makes it worse. Because you KNOW that if they'd just gone the extra mile then that ass would have been magnificent. What's half of a great ass? What good does that do you?? You just sit there all impotent and frustrated because you're staring at one lousy half of a perfect ass, and while you can admire what you've got you know that you're missing out on the ass that could have been... that SHOULD have been. It's so damn close that you can almost taste it, but it's never going to happen because the makers decided to make what should have been an epic sequel into a decent add-on. An add-on stuffed with so much time and effort and content that it's bursting at the seams. Seams made too tight, jeans wrapped around a lonely butt cheek dreaming of its other half. Damn it Volition. You came this close.
This was only a expansion, that's why all the customization and a lot of features are gone. It was a quick game made up to fund their next title, hence the lack of cut-scenes and weapons and features.

You know something? I'm all for the retcon ending being the new direction for the Saints Row series (if they continue it). Lets face it, the gangsta rap, bling-bling, pimps n hoes, bull was played out a long time ago. It's an over-marketed sub-genre that the likes of sellout rappers and MTV kept shoving down our throats and pandering to the lowest common denominator. Just let that shit die already. That being said. Saints Row doesn't have to be about gangsters, but hardened police and vigilantes taking back the row from gangs instead. Same feel, but you're not a gang this time. Maybe they could to go for a cop drama type of game series and poke fun at Law and Order, 80's detective shows, and Gotham. It can still be wacky like giving you an option for a wacky sidekick from Professor Genki, Fun Shaundi, or Oleg. Your main character starts as a rookie cop and when you take back the Row from gangs, you make it to Chief of Police by the end. Julius and Dex could be criminal overlord and Ultor can go back to being the bad guys again along with the Syndicate, Ronin, Rollers, etc. I dunno, it's optimistic thinking but it could work.

Here's a crazy idea for a sequel. The retcon ending is canon, and Johnny's first job as a cop is to travel to San Andreas, Liberty City, and Vice City, and arrest all known GTA characters. CROSSOVER CONFIRMED! I all seriousness, though, I wouldn't mind a GTA/Saints Row crossover. The first two Saints games were serious, and the GTA franchise has its share of goofy and ridiculous moments (Princess Robot Bubblegum/Republican Space Rangers, the Michael "tripping balls" mission, the "Grass Roots" missions, etc.). They could do it like Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter. he GTA characters meeting the Saints could just be a DLC for Grand Theft Auto V (similar to Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare and GTA: Episodes from Liberty CIty), and would be handled by Rockstar Games, whereas a story where the Saints are determined to track down and take down all GTA characters can be Volition's project.
I liked how Gat out of Hell added even more cameos from the previous games. Twins and Vogel even mentions and pictures of other previous characters. Definitely enjoyed killing Dex again and again...and again. Lots of killing Dex.
I chose to let Gat rule hell in my first play through and find a new planet in my 2nd. I'm pleased with those choices. Reuniting him with Aiyisha never entered my mind because I hooked up with him in SR4. Selfish? Yes. But so is the Boss.

Redem10 I wanna say that it was more or less a response to the people(myself included) that didn't like the turn the series took starting with 3/4 and would rather they started over or go back to how it was in 1/2. So Volition just made an ending where they completely wipe the SR world clean and start over. No more meaning than what is showed, in his past life, Gat was a gang member and a criminal, in his new one, he got put on the opposite side of things and became a cop.
Didn't play this but I will say that all the endings-minus them being short and the knowledge one-were really good, I like the idea of all them all and they all fit in their own way. Reading the comments though and the whole retcon continuation would be awesome, hopefully they could tame it a bit back to the levels of SR2.
The Best Endings were Number 3 and Number 4. Those are The Ones that Voltron Will Probably Run With. I still wish Saints Row was a Gangster Game Again. Saints Row 2 was Definitely the best out of the Saints Row Franchise.
The game gave me a good 2 days of fun with the wings and the hidden commentary and for £14.99 who can argue. And getting to kill Dex omgerd best part. The best bit was when quote 'put one inside Satan's head' came about and the musical great comedy 10/10

It would be more realistic and will feed the "saints row is out of its roots"ers if ending #4 is the canon one. But Gameplay>Realism. If they go with the Recon ending for a new SR title, I just hope this: 1.) We get the ability to have more interactive choices. It'd change how you game in a bit of doing one thing and it'd help or another and that would help in a different aspect. 2.) Going back to the Grit style story arc of SRI and SRII - Have it be a new Saints Row organization being built and you are a recruit. They could go in the story in a vein of 'Fast and Furious' where either Gat, Kenzie or Matt are with you and that'd bring in a different ending and that'd go to SR VI 3.) Bringing it back where it all began - It would be logical also if they do the Recon ending for the new Saints Row, they are able to go back to the original city, Stillwater and making it more larger and more expansive than any other city in the SR Series. Almost if they wanted to go for a GTA SA approach and have it split off to separate cities adding more traveling. They're probably not going to do any of these (Except the Recon ending possibly canon) but I'd just thought I would have some two cents on what they could do with a Next Generation Saints Row, especially since they've done all they can with great stuff like this from what it seems. I just have hope it becomes a more re-imagining of the series and redo it for the years to come.

In saints row 4 if you did all the side content, after you beat the main boss the saints discover a time machine and they go back in time to earth. i'm pretty sure that's the canon ending. they've also already stated that future games won't involve any of the characters that have been in previous games

And also are Gat Outta Hell and the other 2 DLC even canon? They aren't on the Zin mothership when they are in the real world and I believe that they (at least should) take place after the ending of SRIV.

Saints Row 1 and 2 was never like GTA. It had it's own feel and had a really good story. Saints Row 3 and 4 it just became completely boring like it was targeted towards kids almost.
Why does everyone like the recreation of the world ending? It's like a parallel universe where everything is different. I'd rather see how they proceed in the real universe. The Saints are a gang and will always be a gang, whether they are in the streets of Stilwater or on a spaceship above Steelport.

The ending where Gat asks God to recreate Earth would most likely be the canon ending if and when Volition decides to make "Saints Row 5". If you people don't remember or didn't know, "Saints Row" exist in the same fictional universe as the "Red Faction" series. The Earth can be seen in "Red Faction" and "Red Faction 2" (especially since "Red Faction 2" is set on Earth) and the evil corporation in the first game was a matter of fact the Ultor Corporation. Just pointing out what I know.

The ending I chose was the Earth retcon ending - after all, the reconstruction of Earth was something I think a lot of us were playing for in Saints Row 4 - but it doesn't leave the satisfaction that I was hoping for. Watching all these endings they all seem over and done with almost as soon as they start. Actually the whole game seems over and done with so soon. I'm literally writing this after completing the game, which I only purchased two weeks ago. The activities in the game are fun and all, but the lack of story missions make it feel... well short-lived, at best, and at worst underdeveloped.

I like the "retcon the entire world of Saint's Row" one - it basically restore the world and gives a pretty damn good AU set-up... and a more realistic one. Even though I know that the "find humanity a new world" end is probably going to be the cannon one if they make a new game, I can still dream, right?
God... this was like... exactly half of a brilliant game. It's everything I always wanted in the Saints Row finale, except... only half of it. It had so many things that I wanted in previous Saints Row games... a creative new cityscape! Supernatural powers! Freakin' WINGS! Oh, I always wanted to give my Boss wings. But I couldn't. Because half the stuff that WAS in the previous games is GONE. The customization is gone. The story missions are gone. My damn BOSS is gone. It's half assed, is what it is. It's half freaking assed.
Oh, it's half of a great ass! Don't get me wrong. That's one half of one great ass. But that's not really a good thing, y'know? In fact, that makes it worse. Because you KNOW that if they'd just gone the extra mile then that ass would have been magnificent. What's half of a great ass? What good does that do you?? You just sit there all impotent and frustrated because you're staring at one lousy half of a perfect ass, and while you can admire what you've got you know that you're missing out on the ass that could have been... that SHOULD have been. It's so damn close that you can almost taste it, but it's never going to happen because the makers decided to make what should have been an epic sequel into a decent add-on. An add-on stuffed with so much time and effort and content that it's bursting at the seams. Seams made too tight, jeans wrapped around a lonely butt cheek dreaming of its other half.

This was only a expansion, that's why all the customization and a lot of features are gone. It was a quick game made up to fund their next title, hence the lack of cut-scenes and weapons and features.

You know something? I'm all for the retcon ending being the new direction for the Saints Row series (if they continue it). Lets face it, the gangsta rap, bling-bling, pimps n hoes, bull was played out a long time ago. It's an over-marketed sub-genre that the likes of sellout rappers and MTV kept shoving down our throats and pandering to the lowest common denominator.

That being said. Saints Row doesn't have to be about gangsters, but hardened police and vigilantes taking back the row from gangs instead. Same feel, but you're not a gang this time. Maybe they could to go for a cop drama type of game series and poke fun at Law and Order, 80's detective shows, and Gotham. It can still be wacky like giving you an option for a wacky sidekick from Professor Genki, Fun Shaundi, or Oleg. Your main character starts as a rookie cop and when you take back the Row from gangs, you make it to Chief of Police by the end. Julius and Dex could be criminal overlord and Ultor can go back to being the bad guys again along with the Syndicate, Ronin, Rollers, etc.

Here's a crazy idea for a sequel. The retcon ending is canon, and Johnny's first job as a cop is to travel to San Andreas, Liberty City, and Vice City, and arrest all known GTA characters.

I all seriousness, though, I wouldn't mind a GTA/Saints Row crossover. The first two Saints games were serious, and the GTA franchise has its share of goofy and ridiculous moments (Princess Robot Bubblegum/Republican Space Rangers, the Michael "tripping balls" mission, the "Grass Roots" missions, etc.).
They could do it like Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter. he GTA characters meeting the Saints could just be a DLC for Grand Theft Auto V (similar to Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare and GTA: Episodes from Liberty CIty), and would be handled by Rockstar Games, whereas a story where the Saints are determined to track down and take down all GTA characters can be Volition's project.

I liked how Gat out of Hell added even more cameos from the previous games. Twins and Vogel even mentions and pictures of other previous characters. Definitely enjoyed killing Dex again and again...and again. Lots of killing Dex.
I chose to let Gat rule hell in my first play through and find a new planet in my 2nd. I'm pleased with those choices. Reuniting him with Aiyisha never entered my mind because I hooked up with him in SR4. Selfish? Yes. But so is the Boss.

Redem10 I wanna say that it was more or less a response to the people(myself included) that didn't like the turn the series took starting with 3/4 and would rather they started over or go back to how it was in 1/2. So Volition just made an ending where they completely wipe the SR world clean and start over. No more meaning than what is showed, in his past life, Gat was a gang member and a criminal, in his new one, he got put on the opposite side of things and became a cop.

Didn't play this but I will say that all the endings-minus them being short and the knowledge one-were really good, I like the idea of all them all and they all fit in their own way. Reading the comments though and the whole retcon continuation would be awesome, hopefully they could tame it a bit back to the levels of SR2.
The Best Endings were Number 3 and Number 4. Those are The Ones that Voltron Will Probably Run With. I still wish Saints Row was a Gangster Game Again. Saints Row 2 was Definitely the best out of the Saints Row Franchise.

The game gave me a good 2 days of fun with the wings and the hidden commentary and for £14.99 who can argue. And getting to kill Dex omgerd best part. The best bit was when quote 'put one inside Satan's head' came about and the musical great comedy 10/10

If they go with the Recon ending for a new SR title, I just hope this:
1.) We get the ability to have more interactive choices. It'd change how you game in a bit of doing one thing and it'd help or another and that would help in a different aspect.
2.) Going back to the Grit style story arc of SRI and SRII - Have it be a new Saints Row organization being built and you are a recruit. They could go in the story in a vein of 'Fast and Furious' where either Gat, Kenzie or Matt are with you and that'd bring in a different ending and that'd go to SR VI
3.) Bringing it back where it all began - It would be logical also if they do the Recon ending for the new Saints Row, they are able to go back to the original city, Stillwater and making it more larger and more expansive than any other city in the SR Series. Almost if they wanted to go for a GTA SA approach and have it split off to separate cities adding more traveling.
They're probably not going to do any of these (Except the Recon ending possibly canon) but I'd just thought I would have some two cents on what they could do with a Next Generation Saints Row, especially since they've done all they can with great stuff like this from what it seems. I just have hope it becomes a more re-imagining of the series and redo it for the years to come.

Gat Out Of Hell was shorter than Saints Row 4 Re-Elected, yet it was a lot more enjoyable. I guess it was because there was hardly any filler in comparison to SR4.
