To all those who watch this video, I want to thank you all. I didn't expect that after 5 years I'd have 2.2 million views. This was made after my first watching of Top Gun and when my passion for Aircraft began. I hope to do a similar video for Top Gun: Maverick when it comes out!
"I was giving him the bird" "You know the finger" "Yes I know the finger Goose..." "I'm sorry..I hate it when it does that" That's my favorite part of the movie hahaha I use it sometimes 😂
Just finished watching this for the 300th time in my lifetime here on Netflix July 2021 😂🤣👍🏻 but the soundtrack really made this movie how epic it was in 1986.
50 years ago, the United States Navy established an elite school for the top one percent of its pilots. It’s purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial combat and to insure that the handful of men who graduated were the best fighter pilots in the world. They succeeded. Today, the Navy calls it Fighter Weapons School. The flyers call it: TOP GUN
Kaan Sakarya comparing your acrobatic teams and a lucky landing to our elite pilots, every single one of our birds would shit on every aircraft in the turkish airfleet 3x over not an opinion, its obvious to anyone with a brain
Brilliant film...was about 9yr old when this came out.. Must have watched it thousands of times as a kid and a good few as an adult... Good story line great characters fantastic aerial photography brilliant music... Defo in my top 10👌
I love how Slater drops his head to look over at Goose over his shades when he says “I’ve got a great Polaroid of it.” That look over his shades, you know the character is thinking: “Wait a minute wtf did this guy just say?!?” Such a great little half second moment that the director had the foresight to capture.
I was stationed in 1993 right across the street from AOCS in Pensacola. I was in naval aircrew and RSS. I always remember those marine DI's at about 0430 barking at you guys before I even showered and walked to the galley. You all had those silver domed helmets aye? I remember doing some flag duty for a short time (taps/colors) with AOCS candidates.
I'm 68 years old and I love movies: I have almost 1000 DVDs, and a buch of VHS tapes. I've seen upwards of 5000 novies, I'd guess, but TOP GUN will always be my favorite. Not the best movie ever made, but, imho, the most entertaining by a hefty margin.
Well, that'll just about cover the flybyes. Gentleman.. You had a hell of a first day. I had the shot, there was no danger, so I took it. U took it... And broke a major rule of engagement!! Epic scene. Skerritt(Viper)is a great underated character actor.
I vaguely recall one of the reviews of the movie back before the interweb - Siskel and Ebert, I think - stating that this was essentially a two hour navy recruiting film, with uniforms designed and tailored by Calvin Klein. Yup - I agree. And I signed up. Never played volleyball. And the standard issue uniforms fit like crap unless you paid an off base tailor to recut them for you. Don't regret it for a second. Can't wait for TG2.
Marlon Villapando I think Top Gun 2 is going to have stunts as well, because, you know... it’s Tom Cruise, and I remember seeing a news report that said he was learning to fly jets.
Everyone on TH-cam must be liking such videos but there's so much advanced physics and lot of hard training of pilots and over it always willing to accept death in the air, very few people have such stamina and courage to become a fighter pilot.
Aw no, my favourite moment wasn't in there. "Good morning, Gentlemen, the temperature is 110 degrees!" "HOLY SHIT IT'S VIPER!" "Viper's up here, great! _Oh shit..."_ "Great! He's probably saying 'Holy shit, it's Maverick and Goose'." "Yeah, I'm sure he's saying that..." And honourable mentions are: "The Defense Department regrets to inform you that your sons are dead because they were stupid!" "I'm bringing him closer, Merlin!" "YOU'RE GONNA DO _WHAT?!"_ "Really enjoyed that, Mav, thanks a lot! _Holy shit!_ Maybe I can learn how to be a truck driver... Mav, do you have the number of that truck driving school we saw on TV? Truck Master I think it is... I might need that." And what about the classic: *_"I feel the need! The need for speed!"_*

Never saw Top Gun, busy doing A-levels in 1986. Just been watching "Paddy and Keith's remake". Now on You Tube to see original scenes and can't take it seriously anymore!
This is an absolute perfect film. If there is only one possible shortcoming -- it had to end. I am 40 years old and this is in my top 3 films of all time. I have probably seen it 100 times. Movies like this aren't made any more. Hopefully the sequel they are doing isn't complete shit. Maybe it will be decent. Hell, i thought when Stallone announced a new Rambo film (Rambo 4), it was going to be a disaster. It turned out to be awesome.
Yes, just got back from the new film. Loved it and wish I re-watched the original before going. Has plenty of references to the original, but manages to not only deliver the same excitement, but also keeps it fresh for this generation. Worth it on the biggest screen you can get to!
When I was a kid and seen the tower flyby scene followed by that roll then the hard bank to the right allowed me to realize the intricacies of variable wing design and how the elevators act as ailerons in correlation with the spoilers on the main wings. Who is here after watching Too Gun Maverick? It was a good movie! But the first one will always be the best! I love how they put it together with the first one.

This movie still excites me to this day! 32 years later!
I’m wary it again today with my 19 year old Son, who’s never seen it…Then we go to See Too Gun Maverick when it hits the theaters!! ❤️
I was expecting to see the whole movie in this video, but this will work.
Haha exactly
1:35 lol😂😂😂 how Goose said "WE" instead of "I" Lol I love it...
That "Bulls**t" cough line was and is my favorite....😂😂😂
Improvised by Val Kilmer. Not in the script.
This soundtrack was just kind of epic. It’s going to be hard to do it again...
Well for the next one they have the same composer, plus they added Hans Zimmer who is legendary. So I have no doubt it will be solid.
Metal version Danger Zone is epic

The F-14 is and always will be one of my personal favorite jet planes.
It’s one of my aircraft of choice in Ace Combat.

Given they are making Top Gun 2 right now, I would have to say that your data on filmmaking is inaccurate :)

Top Gun 2 is coming next year. Hold on, it’s going to be flying through the Danger Zone. People didn’t forget. They still have that loving feeling...
I know the pilot that flew many of those scenes and he was the one that gave 'the bird' - Scott Altman. Pretty cool !!!
One of the greatest movies of all time + the whole soundtrack and not to forget the awesome F-14 Tomcat!!!

I watched this when I was 15, a few times. My son is 24 and going to watch Maverick tonight 🤩
1:15 If someone sang like that in a bar in this age, everyone would just stare.
If it was Tom Cruise you'd join in, don't kid.
I love how cool Anthony Edwards is in this movie, knowing that his other famous role is Gilbert in Revenge of the nerds.
People who wait for the Top Gun 2 ?
cem9967 won’t be good, the original is a classic!
Tiffany Sanchez
I'm afraid you're right
TG5 is already scripted. Cdr Mitchell (busted twice) leads Sqdrn of Aces in WW3 mission against China.
Probably won't be as good as the first, but I'm still gonna go see it!
Tiffany Sanchez I am also an agreement.
Its actually refreshing to watch a movie without a CG jet, or CG environment, or CG everything.
Could watch that movie over and over again !!

What's your callsign?

Air Force if you can but Navy wouldn't be bad either.

It's Navy or nothing, my man. Air Force don't take off from aircraft carriers, aka the Danger Zone!
Maverick inspired me to be a pilot.... :) but now Top Gun 2 without F-14 will be waste

I don't want to be a pilot in a plane I cannot fully stand-up in the cabin.

It is going to have an F-14 in it. In a video that someone made about leaked photos it showed Maverick and Gooses son climbing into an F-14
