Say what you will about the idol industry itself, but having fans like these singing and dancing whole-heartedly to your music is wonderful. Here in the states if a performance was to happen at a mall, everyone would be too shy to yell their heart out in support of a performance.
@@AnimeFan-ph5suMore cringe kpop chants, none of the j-idol chants are cringe. It's even crazier if you watch the show just for the story on social media.
I live in Japan and being an otaku is not a very welcoming term. However, I know that Japanese anime culture is something to be proud of in the world and should never be tarnished by anyone.
This is fascinating to see the different levels of enthusiasm all through the crowd and to the outskirts. Each level you have some fans but the amount and how into it they are gets lower the higher you go until at the top floor it looks like just some people who stopped to see what was going on. Then you have the people really into it on the lowest floor but even interspersed in the crowd there are a few people who arent as into it as the people all around them. Some that are but too embarrassed to go all out, and then inexplicably some who made it that far up and seemingly dont actually know everything thats going on.

Weird how more of them are guys rather than girsl considering the song. Are the roles reversed for genres that might appeal more to the male Western audience?
In the West, girls support boy groups. So boys support girl groups? No. Boys are shamed into not supporting girl groups. So girl groups need to also largely target girls, and for Western ideals, often go more for female empowerment style. Guys are forced into alternatives- and then which of those you follow probably breaks down more into racial/social lines. In Japan, girls support boy groups. Boys support girl groups, with the push against this still there, but much less than the West. This extends to indie bands to lesser extent, but not so much the case at the mainstream level. BTW, of course there's still a sizable amount of guys who like some songs or even follow some male groups, and same for girls and female groups, but it's not "normal" in a land of strong social conformation, so they mostly stay semi-secret fans at home and on the internet. The fanchants, etc of male fans for female idols can be particularly intimidating for girls who might otherwise be fans.
This looks like fun! I'd hang out with those dudes, then they could tell me about their favorite bands. After we eat sushi, we can go out and flirt with cute girls together. I like these guys!
J-pop girl groups still seem to objectify women much more than K-pop girl groups since the former (e.g., 48 groups and similar) stress innocence, submissiveness, and treating wotas as daimyo in a modern sense. It's no wonder that K-pop groups with their more mature concepts and independent spirits (e.g., girl power) have flourished amongst the Japanese general population (and worldwide) within the past decade. See previous generations like Kara and newer ones like Twice and Niziu. 48 groups will continue to decline compared to girl groups that display female empowerment in this day and age.
honestly, it's not much different, there are creepy fans on both kpop and jpop. Have you heard of saesangs? Those are stalkers that actually try to get as close to their idols as much as possible, by boarding the same plane as them, following their cars, digging and getting their personal number, stealing their stuff and all kinds of stuff and the worst part is that there are accounts on instagram that sells this kind of leaked personal information to fans. TWICE as well encountered stalkers like that, although I think it's mostly the boy groups like BTS and NCT that get saesangs.
Humanity was mistake. And why these people look both enthusiastic and soulless at the same time? Deep down they know they're just slaves in Plato's cave staring at illusion on the wall their masters project?
It makes me laugh when I see ppl saying Japanese are so wholesome when they’re really actually crazy. Idols go through a lot of harassment online and if they’re caught dating other men get threats against their life. So yeah they’re psycho
@@thanghoangsong6138 I actually heard the people that camp out for days before concerts to get priority seating smell too because they haven't showered in days.
During crowd shots I counted 8 female fans midst all the guys.
