well aren't you forgetting something? this ain't no goddamn streetcar and a streetcar needs to have a number plate in which case the grill will look stupid either way. granted, it looks better than the street version but only because of the hood that fits it's style and without that, it will look just as stupid as the regular version once a number plate is on
She's faster in the corners but lost some straight linie speed because the V8 in the M6 had a little bit more punch. But tyre managment is way better with the M4. You can push way longer the M6 had a tyre wear problem.

The wing creates more aerodynamic drag but it makes the car's grip a lot more reliable over bumps and during weight transfers. BMW have stated they did this to make the car easier to drive consistently, to make it more attractive to gentlemen drivers.

Always cool to see new people getting interested in sportscar racing. I've seen the vids of TJ as well but I've been watching GT racing for a while. That is why I liked TJs vids. As a big fan of sportscar racing it is so cool to see all the details of the transformation. If you wanna watch races which have ONLY GT3 cars then GT World Challenge is a good start. This series also includes the 24h of Spa which is the holy grail when it comes to GT racing. In this series you'll have all the manufacturers competing. Like Mercedes, Mclaren, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Honda/Acura, Lexus/Toyota and so on. The first race of the season will be on the 29th of april and at least in Europe the races will be streamed on TH-cam. Endurance racing also has GT classes. But the GT Class shares the track with other classes like Hypercar and LMP2 at the same time. Best series here are WEC, ELMS and IMSA. For 2023 WEC and ELMS are using GTE cars instead of GT3. GTE are basically GT3 on steroids. But it will be the last year of GTE because it got too expensive. Next year they are going to switch to GT3. On the 29th of april there will be the next round in Spa Franchorchamps and it is gona be awesome. For WEC there are no free streams. Outside of the US you can buy access passes for each race on their website. And without a doubt the most important and insane race will be the 24h of le mans. It is in june. There's 2 Versions of the M4 GT3, one's got a muffler after the Turbo but still retains the side pipes, that's probably what you heard then. Because the other Version is Straight piped.
@@diinvolg4838 Was the one in this version the muffled one then? Edit: i was at the spa 24h this year and it sounded pretty muffled in the beginning, but later in the race it suddenly sounded louder idk. The downshifts on these things are soo nice tho 😍
tho its obvious livery designers try their best to tone it down however they can. I've seen some artist renditions of the car with "older style grills", and I liked them all better.
I really wish it revved higher. It’s a pretty great sound, especially on downshifts. I hope they allow for higher hp in GT3 racing. 600hp seems reasonable.

Im telling yall, cameras do not do the sound justice, this German beast is loud in person I got to hear it last weekend at the long beach grand prix and I was not expecting it to be loud
Found the internet engineer. Its not "choking", the engine is extremely efficient therefore it makes less noise. I am sure the regulators want to make them quieter because they like to ruin everything fun, but these engines are just insanely efficient. Combined with being an inline 6 turbo, its easy to see why they always have the quietest cars.
So I saw it race in person today and although its not a 911 or a c8, it surprisingly sounds pretty cool. It has some crazy blow off sounds and the engine has a super smooth note to it. It also looks great but when the c8 is nearby, you cant hear it lol
Heard it during the GTWC Europe at Paul Ricard, the sound is pretty decent, but because of the side exhausts you hear it during a small amount of time compared to all the rear exhaust cars (Porsche, Audis and Lambos..etc)
Just imagine the legendary status this thing would achieve if BMW hadn't tried to be whacky and 'bold' with that grille. Could have been so much more attractive!
It's true that it looks over the top on the road car, but on the extreme, super wide GT3 racing version with a massive ping pong table at the back, it looks quite at home. Lol

Too bad BMW doesn't have a widebody option for the M4 comp or CSL, that would be just silly. The front end is balanced beautifully with the wider fenders, absolute monster of a car in this form.

That new kidney grille is very controversial, but IMO, it just looks so Sick and matches with the GT3 Avatar! The sound is deep and a bit scary, too.
