Sebastian, just got my sample of Wake Up World. Immediately reminded of Drakkar Dynamik - not certain if they share the Dihydromyrcenol in addition to the apple. Fruity, laundry clean, and perhaps a touch of musk/powder. Maybe to a lesser extent Kouros Silver (?) Definitely a crowd pleaser.
@@ThePerfumeGuy I'm honestly running off of memory on Dynamik - blasted through a bottle back in day when I made it hip to rock it and Laroche's Horizon (which some would say is just plain wrong 🤣). If you ever do find Dynamik, don't over-spend though... to me a precursor to YSL L'homme, but a skeleton frame and inferior. Wake Up World is growing on me though, and certainly a step up!
@@ThePerfumeGuy Re-testing WUW now and getting a slight nod to MFK Amyris Homme (EDT/Extrait) in that cool, sweetened, "wall-of-sound" slight, slight musky/deo vibe (a la Allure Homme but more "cloudy" and less "thick"?) along with the Ambrox touch of Jovoy's 21 Conduit Street. Definetly more in that "designer" realm of niche, but a nice return-to-form for the trends. Just felt like sharing! 🙂
Had to smile broadly because I was recently in Paris and stumbled upon Parle Moi Parfum in St. Germain. And after sampling about 12 of their fragrances it was to my pleasant surprise that Mile High was indeed my absolute favourite fragrance of the Parle Moi line-up. Now, I'm not usually into uber-fruity fragrances but I instantly LOVED Mile High as it was so very Pineapple-ish without smelling terribly synthetic as many pineapple often do. Loving Mile High right away, I bought a 100ml bottle on the spot and am looking forward to wearing it plenty from here on into late summer.
I used to wear Minotaure, Nicole Miller and Roma way back when. Minotaure was my favorite of the three, but they were all similar. I've bought all three in their current formulations and Minotaure has fared the worst, which bums me out. I've never been one to complain about reformulations, but modern-day Minotaure is awful. I miss the original formula...it reminds me of good times and I'm sure I reeked of it back then. I might've even used it as mouthwash...I went through so many bottles. I've been waiting for Mr. Almairac to copy himself. This made my day. I will now need to pick this up. Thanks Perfume Guy :)
The fragrance genre Amber Fougere is one of my favorite genres. I hope to sample this one, and I hope to try the other ones too, especially the one with the coffee/vetiver combination.
I love your regular content Sebastian. My husband spend like every evening (UK time) with your fragrance reviews and it's becoming a lovely part of our evening routine. Thank you! I'm eager to try out this house 🖤
I just received my wake up world!!! Wow not what I expected but I’m reallllyyy enjoying it. It actually reminds me a bit of L’homme ultime if you made more complex and ambery. For me the most interesting thing is the amount of contrasts. There’s a salty aspect, a sweet one, powder one, lavender one, floral one. It’s like a designer fragrance but with maximum complexity. Sebastián this successful blind buy is all thanks to you, cheers :) 🥂 Edit: wow now it’s completely evolved to something extra ambery and tonka powdery now it’s really impressing me!
I've been intrigued by Paloma Picasso's Minatour for years without ever having smelled it, and understand the reformulations just aren't the same scent. When I stumbled upon a review of Wake Up World I immediately ordered up a sample from luckyscent. Its glorious. A very pleasant, enjoyable fragrance that on me smells fresh and soapy, with a slightly sharp note that keeps it interesting and intriguing. I've had it on about twenty minutes now and it seems to be getting stronger (!) and capturing my interest more and more. Bravo, Parle Moi de Parfum!
One fragrance which was made by Michel Almairac decades ago which I don't prefer is Nikos "Sculpture Pour Homme". I'd much rather wear Mandarina Duck "Black Extreme" since I actually enjoy that one. I'm wondering if I've ever smelled that Paloma Picasso fragrance. Another fragrance from a while ago which I don't prefer is Ted Lapidus "Altamir". I enjoy Versace "The Dreamer" and I know that it's not similar to "Sculpture P.H." nor is it similar to "Altamir".
A sales assistant sprayed this all over me yesterday. She also gave me test strip. I need this, its fresh and warm at the same time, i cant wait to get a bottle asap 😍
I love Wake Up World! I got it in a box of samples from the brand. It was my favourite sample and I was trying to purchase it but it wasn’t on their website. I just thought it was sold out. It didn’t occur to me that it was still to come. Thank you Sebastian. I really enjoy this brand, thanks to you 😀
Mile High is so unique yet I know I've smelled the aroma in the past, it's awesome and underrated. The brand is underrated because their fragrances top many other houses.
Thank you Sebastian for another great one. Tomorrow I am receiving my bottles of Salvador Dali and Paloma Picasso's Minotaure (Montblanc Starwalker also included as another Michel Almairac creation). Unfortunately, the former are all current itterations but I hope the frag profiles of the originals are still there. I have to sample the Wake up frag following your presentation. Thanks again!
I got it right! Great news! I love Minotaure, I still have half a bottle from the OG formulation, it's good to know that there is an option and also created by Michel Almairac. Great review Sebastian, thank you!!!
Just got my sample of this and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s a more masterful version of Dunhill Desire Red (also created by Almairac) and I’m soo glad. Desire Red was really unique in the 90s/00s and this updates it beautifully. Youthful fresh kinda sweet but not like Paco Rabanne shitty sweet. Never smelled Minotaur but I’m sure ur right about it being closely related too
Great video, Sebastian-as always! FYI, it’s not pronounced “parlay moi,” it’s pronounced “parl moi . . .” That final “e” doesn’t get articulated in the same way it would in Spanish/Italian.

I go to Scent Bar (LuckyScent) all the time in Beverly district in LA all the time. This brand never caught my eye. Curious this chemical - is not very present anywhere else! Dihydromyrcenol - I am wondering if it behaves like an indole?? And I am a pharmacist… just curious… combined with Ambroxan - it’s too much synthetic chemistry no?? But warm AND fresh combination is very curious!
