Pret changes food labelling - BBC London

More than two years after the death of London teenager Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, Pret A Manger says it will start labelling all its products' ingredients, including allergens. The 15-year-old died after a severe allergic reaction. The inquest coroner sharply criticised the rules on labelling. Tolu Adeoye reports.

I'm lucky in this modern world to not have any allergies myself,so I can eat whatever I like,but it must be awful for the people who have to live with this problem. I would hate it mostly because of the frustrating way in which it would slow me down,making me have to stop and check everything,when I want to get on and do,and enjoy.

I have serious allergies . My advice just avoid eating outside . I prepare my own food. I don't understand people sometimes . Take precautions. You will be safe .

Sorry but if you suffer with an allergy, you should be more responsible with what you eat especially if it's likely to kill you. Blaming the corporation is utter pointless if people don't take responsibility for their own health.

I agree so many people have allergies now a days so why wait for the law to come into force. Why not just do it to save lifes. What a sad loss for the family. They should give the family some compensation and apology so they can move on.

It's surely for the public good that fully imformative food labelling is adopted,we have the technology after all. Listing every ingredients is good,but as this can make for a sizeable block of text to be read through,how about making the allergen items in the list stand out from the rest of the text by being in a different colour,say magenta or red instead of black,so they can be spotted quickly and easily?

they are better than most in East London in places around Tower Hamlets and Canary Wharf but not in west london in places such as Kingston and definatley not in croydon.
