The roundness of the sound is very round.
Almost spherical.
Somewhat oval, no?
Almost a circumference type tone to it...
Round and round the sound went round. Verily.
Rounded but still very bright and open, almost like a spherical rounded circular circle
That was stunning! When I was growing up, we listened to a lot of classical music, and one of my favorite albums was Switched On Bach. My Dad said that even though some people complained that Bach shouldn't be played on synthesizers, he was sure Bach would approve because he was always experimenting with new instruments as they came along. I think Bach would love this!
Absolutely, any musician would appreciate such an articulate performance
That album was also my introduction. It led me to Virgil Fox (who I saw play that electronic beast of an organ in the U.V.A. concert hall (1975)) , and Moog, and electronics, and Emerson Lake and Palmer's "Mussorgsky's Pictures At An Exhibition" which led to the Philadelphia Philharmonic's version and onward from there. My first sequenced piece was a sudo-Beethoven piece on a bread boarded Texas Instruments SN76489 and a cobbled 512 X 8 bit memory array. I can honestly say that "Switched On Back" was a major influence in my 40+ years of dabbling in music and electronics.
The pipe organ is a synthesizer. That seemed to be Bach's favorite instrument.
I like the slap and tapping sounds but it’s nice to hear a bass played like a traditional melodic instrument sometimes. This bass sounds beautiful and this guy is obviously a highly talented musician. 👍🏻👍🏻
Well, obviously, such a mastery is, lets say, 1% talent, 98% long hard and joyful work. Sounds like a good approximation.
I love how subdued the highs are beneath the lows and the mids but still present. The highs go round with the lows n mids, the attack highs are striking but not piercing. Beautiful tone. Wonderful playing.
Montreaux Contra Bass. Amazing instrument indeed
Those black beauty strings 🎶
Every time a bassist pulls off a performance like this, Victor Wooten, wherever he may be in this world, glances off into the heavens and smiles.
This is a tour de force! So excellent!
Thanks a lot!
its sooo much easier than play it on a cello, trust me the tour de force is not what you think ( i play cello and bass so i know what i'm talking about)
You scared the shit out of me when you said heaven. Thought Victor isn't here anymore for a moment
Phenomenal player. Great right hand technique
The sound reminds me of heavy gauged strings on classical guitar, finger plucked . No long nails. Such a natural, round but crisp sort of quality to the sound.
I see those pedal point instances and the configurations that he has to go through to play the piece and it's just astounding to watch. Maybe some day, if I practice from now till the time I die. Such great stuff.
Kia ora, like WOW absolutely gobsmacked...beautiful bass and artist. Not really a Bach fan but he's a brilliant musician. I enjoyed this very much. ⚘⚘⚘
Thanks a lot!
@@heikojungbass WOW Kia ora, from NZ. I THANK YOU.... I've just finished watching a heap of yours and Panderballet vids on TH-cam. I've been playing BASS for almost 50 years and your absolutely mesmerizing. You make me feel like a 14 year old girl again with a new toy in my hands. I love the BASS and I love your BASS playing.💖 Thank you for the charm and grace you bring to the best instrument ever. ⚘⚘⚘
An amazing piece!! I love how your right-hand technique switches into something resembling a classical guitar playing style later in the piece. Looking forward to you sharing any music associated with this piece. Perfect for someone who's looking to work on their chops and is isolated for two weeks.
Thanks a lot!
Cello suites and Bass. There is a a video of Jonas hellborg playing the sarabande from the suite in d minor on an acoustic bass. Haunting and deep. I would love to hear you play Bach on an acoustic bass. Loved your playing. Thank you.
Thanks for your kind words...
What a stunning Bass Guitar and beautifully plaid.
Wonderful! Thanks, Heiko! 👏
I admire the soundness of Mr Jung’s ergonomics. With technique like this, he will probably never suffer from a playing injury. Something to emulate.
Excellent work 👍 Nice tones, flawless execution, and... what a unique instrument!
Wow! what a beautiful sounding bass, and what an awesome player he is. one can only wish to play like that lol. sweet tone and bass video.
I'll watch this many many times,👏👏👏beautiful sounding instrument, beautifully played. Love the shape of that bass/violin body. Take a bow, Sir. Bravo

Now that is a series instrument and player
beautiful
that is some serious playing.i love the bass as well the sound is really nice an clean.god bless.
Thanks a lot!
Well. It's a Molineux. It's not just the price your paying.
my god, never thought bach would give me those goosebumps
You must not be listening I can't think of a single piece that doesn't
I don't know, yes maybe i'm not listening to Bach often or at all, but what I know is that Mozart with the 4 seasons (I think it's him) don't gave me anything like those feelings. Maybe for you putting Bach and Mozart on the same ground is totally irrational, and I would understand it. But you understood what i meant.
Amazing and organic sound!
My two favorite "B"s in music. More, please!
In the making...👍
this is so incredible.
This sounds like a pillow
gotta love those nylon strings
при чем тут подушка?
Bravo! Very well done. A nice arrangement as well. That coda was interesting.
the cool part is that it's straight off the page -- Bach ends w/ some funky chords
What a beautiful bass!!!
Very nice playing..
Simply..... excellent.
Why isn'it possible to "like" several time the same vid. Each time I listen to this, I wanna rate "like".
Beautiful!
Love how that bass looks.
Very well done.
That was beautifully played!!
the perfect kind of bass and strings for classical pieces (IMHO)
Hi , what are those strings ?
Black Nylon??
Pyramid Black Nylon
@@heikojungbass thx !
Looks like a PRS headstock
just awesome !
Wow! That sounded quite like JSB would've intended it to sound. The lows and mids make it soooooooo mellow! Liking it verrry much!
THX!!!!
Awesome right hand technique !
Damn dude! That’s fucking incredible!!! Truly inspiring to me as both a bassist and a 6 string bassist.
Thanks a lot! Very much appreciated!
I've never heard electric bass tone like this. Incredible
Cool, that was what we where looking for!!!
The tone is beautiful, clean, crisp and well executed.
theshapeexists If you like bass, google search a young man call “Zander Zon”. I stumbled across him by accident. He plays a piccolo bass. ( it is a different spin on the instrument) Check him out you will not be disappointed. Just sharing, but make no mistake about Heiko he is a talented bassist, he is excellent!
An artist...in the museum. Wonderfully performed!
Great and balanced tone. I just sounds smooth and right.
Sublime bass playing
Incredible!
What a beautiful instrument!
BRAVO, Bravo, bravo
My mouth is still open after that performance Amazing
I like the part where it goes Do de de de de Do do do da da da da da da de de de....then he does all these notes in that scale that go
DODODODODODO dadadadadada didididididididi.....and changes to dahdahdahdahdahdahdah dadadada do do de de de da.
That shit get me every time.
Love that cutaway.

Im in fucking love with that bass
The action looks like its super butter and low on that bass. I would love to see the bridge and string hight in more closer detail. Looks amazing. Would love to have something that fells like that.
My left hand is carpel tunneled cramping just watchin this guy
Very talented, great work
tolle Performance. Sehr musikalisch, schöne Phrasierungen, so muss Bach klingen (nicht nur auf dem Bach)
Merci beaucoup pour ce moment de plaisir ;-))

The dislikes are coming from people who listen to the White Stripes.
