She's a sociopath, this is normal for them. People tend to think this is only something that affects men, but there's no suggestion that it only affects men. We tend to hear about it with men more, in relation to psychopaths, because men tend to violence and that makes news.
Leonardo wrote "chi non punisce il male, comanda che sia fatto", which means that when you don't punish a crime you're actually ordering people to commit more crimes. If her mother did something, this woman woul have probably be cured or at least stopped
Last night I watched a similar documentary only the perpetrator who scammed a fraction of the amount was described as "a rat" and got sent down for some serious jail time. But that was a man. Miss Golightly is described as having a "personality disorder" after scamming £250,000 and does six months in an open prison where she will "have treatment". The "treatment" obviously didn't work because as soon as she was released she was back to scamming again and stealing more money, even her family, so got sent down again. On release she just starts the ball rolling again. She's been to prison three times but each time she gets a lower sentence so this scamming lark is paying dividends for her. Why bother working for a living when she can scam and steal, take a holiday break in the slammer, then get back to business.
This makes me feel so angry mostly because I just found out that I have breast cancer - nothing to joke about especially knowing the consequences of my upcoming procedures! She should be doing community service at a hospice for the terminally ill. Hectic!

To people who do have cancer, her behaviour is disgusting. However. the doctor shouldn't say that dying is somehow the ultimate aim. Most cancer patients want to live and marriage may be the last thing on their mind.
Her “mother standing beside her is a sign of redemption for Emma in the future”…??? Give me a break. Her mother’s enabling and refusal to prosecute Emma’s theft from her, paved the way for Emma to steal from many others. This is a stupid pathetic story.
A relative married a prolific con artist. He made the papers numerous times. He walked out of numerous car dealerships with new cars by faking screens showing deposits paid from his bank account. He then became a plumber. Then a scene of crime officer. Then some manner of coast guard defending against Somalian pirates. Fekkin....pirates?? There was literally nothing that he would not stoop to doing or saying to con people. When he went to prison (one of many times), my relative went to their local shop, despite him telling her that they shouldn't use it anymore for some made up reason, and as she entered the shopkeeper stared at her in shock. The husband had told the shop keeper that his wife (my relative) had died so could he get credit for cigarettes and sweets for the kids? TWICE this guy also told courts that they should be lenient because his young daughter had recently died. When she was very much so alive. He befriended disabled people to con them out of savings, offering to take one fishing after the £250 licence was paid for. Of course....there was no fishing trip. When they visited and first met my husband I had to tell my husband to hide keys/wallets etc and do NOT give him any money. For any reason. My husband said afterwards he seemed like such a nice guy. Then over the next 3 days, my husband was called repeatedly about a slew of unfortunate events that could only be resolved with borrowing cash as the con artists wages had been delayed, his car had been impounded etc, etc. That was a hard NOPE! The final straw was when my relative was having bricks thrown through her windows and found out that he had hired a van in her name, then paid two prostitutes for their services with it and after it had been reclaimed by the dealership they came to her house with their pimp. Now he is ruining some other poor woman's life.
After dealing with so much in my lifetime, I can truly say that I do not feel for the victims nor the criminal. I feel for those who are ill and fighting for one more day of life.
I agree. The men probably thought she would die from cancer shortly after tbe wedding and they would inherit everything. The men were using her as much as she was using them.
My first thought as well, I would NEVER use cancer as part of an act!!! I tend to believe she will regret that one day!!! Karma has a way of coming around and biting you right in your arse!! LoL
All healthcare professionals have a licence to practice number. I absolutely can't believe that she managed to get through that surgeon charade without anyone asking for her details and looking her up on the register!!!!!
There is a woman I have recently met near my home whom I used to see with a frail sickly man. She did not like anyone speaking to him which I found very odd and there are several things (long story) that really make me wonder. I got to know them a little as they are neighbours. I found out that the man died recently and she is now moving to a posh building so I think she must of had something to do with it. She was married three times and having got to know her a little I found she is off and strange...she comes across very gentle and kind but I saw her true character come out with certain people and yep... she could be one of those. Socio paths and narcissists and users, abusers are more common than we think just in varying degrees.

To the men who were scammed of their money by someone with a personality disorder: it’s not your fault for loving and trusting someone. Don’t feel badly about convicting her. I have a personality disorder, so they say, and I was just lucky enough not to get caught from my delusional deeds. However, my guilt was so bad because I felt I was a bad person. Suicide failed. But! I have changed so much since then that I do not believe I could be diagnosed with any disorder in the DSM 5b. To the men again: please keep your faith in humanity. Keep living and trusting. Most people will break your heart (in my experience) but it is people like you who make the world a better place. She knew she was wrong and deserved a much heavier sentence. It has to get bad enough for her to change; six months in an open prison would not have deterred me if I were her. I had to wake up after a near death experience and lose the worst therapist in my life, my job, hide a credit debt, medical bills were $ one million (thank goodness for insurance) and watch my mom pay for my treatment while her husband was dying of cancer, in order to feel a need to change. I hope Emma did learn, but I don’t think it was enough. To the men: you did nothing but be the best person you could be. We all need to trust the odds of meeting an Emma go lightly are slim dispute hearing about all the horrible things people are doing in the news. Please don’t feel guilty or badly about yourself. We need you for society’s sake.
It's women like Emma Golightly that make me happy to be single and steer clear of relationships. I wouldn't blame any of her victims who were disenchanted with love because of the trauma they experienced when they found out they were being used.
I feel sorry for her as she is obviously completely empty inside. But I feel sorry for you too. Turning down relationships because women like her rob you from meeting her opposite. A soul mate is like nothing else in life.
@@BosisofSweden well can't say I feel sorry for her because she knew what she was doing when she wine and dined her victims and stole from them. I can't get over the fact that this woman looks like Frankenstein's daughter and yet she had so many men around her. It is proof that you don't have to look good to be attractive to men, it's a good lesson for those who think they're single because of their appearance. :)))

The person is a family member so if I say anything, it will mess up family relationships. This person has no remorse and, in fact, creates a reason to have an argument so that they don’t have to talk to me.
To the bottle red head speaker who stated "At the risk of sounding catty, shes hardly a femme fatale" true by definition she is not. She's not a double zero in size, however people just don't get that LOOKS, or size really do not matter totally. How many drop dead gorgeous women have been cheated on, beaten on and lied to?? Famous or just people you know in real life. If you are confident, know your worth, and protect your temple, you don't have to have a million bucks to make a man think he has a prize. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This woman was just a POS. Who would rather con people than work.🤷🏾♀️
I said it earlier. Beauty is as beauty does and that’s exactly why she’s ugly. A bow-wowzer, if you will. And, yes, she certainly isn’t a size zero. It’s doubtful she’s any smaller than, say, a baby elephant and not nearly as cute.
I get what you're saying but I feel like she falls more into the “damsel in distress” category with the fake terminal illness. I just can't see a so-called “femme fatale” seeking sympathy like that.
Maybe the judge who released Emma from having to pay back all the money she conned off her male victims should have to reach into his pocket and reimburse them. You know if he was one of them, he would want his money back.
Wow! I think I need to go to Britain. I'm no prize but I cant even find a nice guy to take me out for dinner, or with a job for that matter let alone ones like these Chaps who seemed to be genuinely lovely men which a lot of us Women would love just in itself...A man that is genuine and kind. It's sad that she took advantage of that just for money. I would like to think that she will regret this and realize how lucky she was in finding a man/men that truly loved her but it does not sound like this piece of work has any conscience or even understanding of what love is. This waste of skin is a sociopath plain and simple and really serves no purpose here. That's just my opinion. And none of these folks thought it weird that her side of the aisle was so empty? Or did her family show up too? Also, doctors don't have public conversations about their patients and the care they are giving, it's a good way to lose your license.
How did she get even one guy to marry her?
If you remove from Emma’s deception that she was “RICH”… there would not have been victims! The guys were greedy and shady as well.
Exactly!
What I’m hearing is that the British are profoundly impressed by laptops
Hahahahahah! I was thinking the same thing... Everyone kept mentioning the laptop"well, she seemed legit.. She carried a laptop"ahahah😳😂
Back in 2004/2005 in England I think we were all really genuinely impressed at people who could afford it
It reminds me of one of a TV court show where the guys thought the conman was legitimate because he was driving an Infinity. Lol. This is how conartists get you.
😂😂💻

She's a sociopath, this is normal for them. People tend to think this is only something that affects men, but there's no suggestion that it only affects men. We tend to hear about it with men more, in relation to psychopaths, because men tend to violence and that makes news.
Marc: You are so correct. I know of a former female sub human family member, who is a psychopath.
@@meredithheath5272 former is good. These people are dangerous to be around.
1:27 she’s described as a rat
That is infuriating!
The look on the re-enactment actress's face after being confronted with the credit card bill is award-worthy!

😂😂😂
This makes me feel so angry mostly because I just found out that I have breast cancer - nothing to joke about especially knowing the consequences of my upcoming procedures! She should be doing community service at a hospice for the terminally ill. Hectic!

@@Sandi-ke9mi wishing all the best for your husband’s treatment and praying for a speedy recovery. May you find strength, peace and comfort in this difficult time. 🩵
One of the most disturbing con people is The Tinder Swindler, Shimon Hayut or Simon Leviev. Unbelievable cruel and crazy man!
Didn’t anyone check their credit card charges and have a fraud investigation immediately? Just a little suspicion or questions would have unraveled the lies.
My son looked for love on internet. He was used and taken advantage of several times. I am sad for him. He now lives his life as a chef and living at home. Not going out with dates. Sad there are more of these women around than you think. Xo
I know how you feel. You want the best for your son & it hurts to see him get cheated online. Same thing happened in my family too. So many gold diggers & drug addicts & basic con artists online these days.
@@DixieBlueEyes it is sad. Stay safe. 🙏🙌
I’m incredibly sorry to hear about your son. I hope he doesn’t give up on love. I do know that certain sites/apps are more reputable than others, and from experience I have found some good longer term relationships from these. Either way, as long as he is happy and ready when he feels ready.
Yeah I feel him and after watching the tider swindler. It's just better to be single. I live a good successful life with a nice savings and can't imagine some pos getting a hold of my hard earned money.
@@camiba6773 good on you but I still wish good people found love.
Never trust anyone. It's not that they're always after you and your money. It's just that all people, including myself, are fallible. And it's not really easy to tell who's a psychopath or a sociopath among us.
She's evil but I don't understand how she could use their credit cards for months and they don't know...don't they look at their credit card bills? Also, why would you give someone access to your credit cards so easily?

A good example again of the ‘fairness’ of the British justice system. No regard for the victims.

Seeing how little time she did in prison (and no compensation ordered to pay) crime DOES pay in Britain.
Not even a good looking con. I dont want to sound nasty.

Probably very charismatic.. Most of these people are..
To people who do have cancer, her behaviour is disgusting. However. the doctor shouldn't say that dying is somehow the ultimate aim. Most cancer patients want to live and marriage may be the last thing on their mind.
Yes, the stress of organising a marriage with getting quotes, dresses , venue, honeymoon. It's not for everyone to deal with while battling a cancer.
Her “mother standing beside her is a sign of redemption for Emma in the future”…??? Give me a break. Her mother’s enabling and refusal to prosecute Emma’s theft from her, paved the way for Emma to steal from many others. This is a stupid pathetic story.
Probably her entire life pattern. Pushing boundaries and rules and no consequences. Beginning with childhood. No compassion or empathy for her victims
Malignant Narcissist
He he he 😀 , what a name, she certainly didn't Go lightly on spending other people's money
You beat me to it ;-)
She didn't go lightly on the food either lol maybe her middle name is 'Never".
She's not even that interesting.
Her real name is Charlton.
She's also an editor at Vogue!
Clearly with her good looks...
Excellent chapter and a good example of evilness. Thank you.
Who are these people that think all little girls dream of a stupid efin wedding. Just another fairytale bought as fact.

I think they may have been after her money as well ha ha
Yup
That's how con artists justify their actions.
I agree. The men probably thought she would die from cancer shortly after tbe wedding and they would inherit everything. The men were using her as much as she was using them.
These people are the WORST!! Using cancer in your con - ooh, Karma is a b**ch🤨💀
She was sick😂😂
My first thought as well, I would NEVER use cancer as part of an act!!! I tend to believe she will regret that one day!!! Karma has a way of coming around and biting you right in your arse!! LoL
Lying about having cancer is bad style
All healthcare professionals have a licence to practice number. I absolutely can't believe that she managed to get through that surgeon charade without anyone asking for her details and looking her up on the register!!!!!
And a Consultant at that! The years it takes to get to that level as a Dr?!
How would a nurse not feel that was off at her age😮
I don't think it gets much lower or cold-hearted than to invent a dying/dead child. I mean..... There are no words.

If she is like femme fatale, then,i must be like miss universe or something! Holy shit! 🤣
The amount of sheer confidence she must of had is truly impressive. Not being particularly attractive, overweight etc, she channelled an enormous amount of confidence!! Wow!
Poor victims :( I hope they have healed ❤️❤️
Very much so. Maybe she let herself go. Similar to your transition, Claire
Hope you are doing well know and I'm happy for you to be opened your are a blessed soul live Long a stay safe

All the ways they subtly called her ugly 😂
I can't get over the fact that this woman looks like Frankenstein's daughter and yet she had so many men around her. It is proof that you don't have to look good to be attractive to men, it's a good lesson for those who think they're single because of their appearance. :)))
People such as her make it difficult for people to believe those who genuinely have cancer and need help. Everyone is waiting for them to get sicker and sicker and don't help until it's too late.
But the guys weren’t exactly hot stuff either, so there’s that.
she was portraying herself as a woman with money......like women, men are looking for people like her....
Her first mistake was her name .. Emma GoLightly.
It seems to suggest that the UK has an ample supply of very lonely single men.
Very light sentences imposed by courts. No deterent to the unscrupulous.
How did England become such a wussy joke of a country? 6 months in jail? They were so tough once.
The actor who portrays Chris looks like he could be a relation of Freddie Prinze Jr.
Not suspicious not seeing any of her family for the 2nd wedding?!
That's what I wondered??! I wonder what she told them?
Only in the UK would that be seen as a femme “fat”-al 🤣
Money and education makes a woman look good. Skinny and poor doesn't work for every man. And she better be grateful is he does show interest in her and spends a dime or two on her.
Lots of us here in the UK aren’t so shallow as to see so-called good looks as the be all and end all.
The fact that they keep saying she’s not all that 😂😂😂

The judge let her off with costs and gave her a joke "sentence".. Utterly ridiculous. If a man had donethat the judge would have thrown the book at him. Thanks to the judge,, her crime actually did pay.
No justice here.
“Frumpy femme fatale” 🤣🤣
a 30 stone lying thief from Walkerville, what an absolute catch!Like a scene from Romeo and Juliet supping a couple of pints in the Trafalgar on Gateshead High Street. What on earth was she doing at that gym. waiting for Greggs to open?
What an outrageously lenient sentence!

'she was carrying a laptop'.......oh ok then 🤨....we def see what we want to see eh?
The state of her!!!
How did that first victim not see the transactions on his statements until 17k was run up??
Emma doesn’t go lightly, it turns out.
These people walk among us. I was a victim of a family member and gave them a substantial sum of money. I will unlikely see it returned. The person is a family member so if I say anything, it will mess up family relationships. This person has no remorse and, in fact, creates a reason to have an argument so that they don’t have to talk to me.
Did none of these guys get to meet her family. If not did they question it at all😕
To the bottle red head speaker who stated "At the risk of sounding catty, shes hardly a femme fatale" true by definition she is not.
Seriously, do these guys never look at their bills?
I can see getting away with it for a month, but...
I'm not buying it.
And to the lads that were played by this monster I would tell them to hold their heads high as they have nothing to be ashamed of......oh and head to Canada..where we ladies could use some nice lads like you😊
Fellow Canadian here completely agrees w you! 😄
I know right......a modest lunch is difficult much less a decent life with a good man
These men were attracted to her supposed wealth, power and privilege as they thought they could tap into that somehow. I am not sure they are the type of people you'd want to attract if that's what motivates them to be a nice guy.
These men must been truly desperate. 😮😮😮😮
Despicable..certainly not a femme fatale. Using a child even though fictional made her con awful.
Having met 'fake cancer victims' of both genders it definitely initiates a different mentality in you. Every interaction could be your last so you walk on eggshells - I can't attach any blame to those lads for not knowing what to do here, they must have been in shock.
Omg what a horrible woman
Sad for her victims especially the last one, he has no reason to feel ashamed, she was out for money that was all……can’t believe light sentence either 😱😱😱
