I went for comfort, durability, noise cancelling (didn't need to be powerful, I usually don't pay attention to background noise anyways). I don't need strong bass sound and I usually don't listen to music at high volumes. So far the Bose headphones are meeting my requirements. 😎😎😎😎 Thanks for the review. Was one of the reasons I decided to buy them.
I wear my qc35’s when I mow the lawn and they do a wonderful job of blocking out the mower. 75% volume is all thats needed. My friend picked up a pair of the QC35 II’s and he’s loving them!
I have the original QC35 and still love them. The few new features are great but won't make me run out and buy the new Series II. That said, you won't go wrong buying these awesome headphones. I imagine life expectancy is about the same as other Bose products which is quite a long time. Thank you for this awesome review.
I just scored me a pair of these for $199. Pre black Friday sale. I have been using ANC headphones for the last 2 years using my TT headsets. However the ANC on these are just mind blowing! Great review on this product by the way, especially the ANC samples at the end.
The ANC: On, ANC: Off part was awesome! While the other reviewers praised it quality, you seem not that convinced. What do you think the best in that price range focusing the quality?
EXCELLENT review. They are on my Christmas list and are on sale on Amazon for $279! The review on Google Assistant confirmed that they will be worth the money--in addition to ANC which is the main reason I want them. Again, Great review!
Even the case rocks. They were a gift and the highest praises I can give for my bose are not every time he FaceTime’s me he notices that I have them on, and he FaceTime’s me a lot.
Ive had these sense 2017 best headphones still in 2021. Been wearing them basically 247/ while awakw while jogging running sleeping working gaming. Still amazing. Only thing ive had to replace is the ear cushions for 5$ on amazon
i bought these yesturday. stuuuuutttteerrrrriiiinnnggggg. first time buying headphones. every song on every platform skips like crazy, my phone was near me or in my hand. updated. im sure its just this one pair . man my luck. sending them back.
Well Sound Guys first time I have listened to any of your reviews it was really great about Bose QC35 II you have just made my mind up for Christmas thanks have a great holiday season and all the very best for 2018
ONE MORE DIFFERENCE: the foam in the originals is softer. I quite distinctly remembered the foam feel of the first versions when I tried a friend's pair. I compared yesterday and the new ones definitely feel a bit stiffer.
Really great review - very informative and I liked the overall structure of the content you presented. SUPER distracted by the fact that the word "button" kept missing it's "T's". Ugh. But again, really solid review!
Watching on my Sony WF 1000x.it have good bass and good treble .The wireless earphone allows me to sleep side way on my flight to Singapore. Super comfortable, super quiet and super cool 😎.
I love these Bose headphones except for the fact of gaming on a PC which apparently needs a Microsoft app which I don't know how to get and is driving me absolutely crazy since other Microsoft games/apps need the same thing. I have an HP ENVYx360 which apparently isn't on the list of accepted computers for the app if I looked it up right. Useless for this? Please help. I'd llike to use these headphones for gaming, which is why I bought them in the first place.
The audio cable is about 5' long, with a microphone, gold-plated contacts, volume controls and call control. OK, the charging cable is ridiculously short, but the audio cable is pretty nice.
Good video mate ! In the box, it says “made specifically for iphone, ipad, mac”. Is there any difference in sound quality between Samsung and Apple phones ?
As a musician, XM2's are overrated by hype. BOSE is much more worth its price. Listen to a full orchestra in a flat recording, that's where you will fully appreciated BOSE and not synthetically magnified music in cheap overpriced digital headphones. Call quality is not FULLY discussed in reviews because SONY shall lose. People complain about the BASS, as if their ears clearly hear 4hz. So funny. At the end of the day, I chose the PX.
lionel's lyre Hey man, I'm also a musician, and I think the Sony's are better. What do you think of the high frequencies of the Bose? I think they are ok, but the Sony's is much brighter. Also the Bose is way to much mid-frequency based. I don't understand why you choose the Bose above the Sony headphone haha
I was with you up to the point you said PX. If you want great sound quality then the Sony or Bose are not really your best choices. PSB OPPO and Audio Technica are better choices
llyre I would have kept my Bose but they made my ears really hot after short usage no earcup ventilation makes them a no go for me. Beats has great earcup ventilation but are uncomfy too bad both couldn’t be combined
I bought the Bose QC35 II for work. I thought they were amazing at first. After a week of using with the ANC on (which is great btw) I got terrible ear pain. I last used them on 2 days ago and my ears still hurt a bit today. Also, my ears were never ringing, and even after 2 days I can still hear a low volume buzzing in my ears. Even my jaw starting hurting when I had the noise cancellation on high. They hurt so much I wanted to go to the doctor. With noise cancellation off I have had no issues. Anybody else had this problem? I am thinking of switching to Sony. To be fair, I had issues with another pair of ANC headphones in the past. I am wondering if I am too sensitive to noise cancellation.
Hi, I have the Bose QC35 and with the latest update from Bose Connect I have the choice to choose the level of noise reduction or turn it off altogether and it works beautifully. I do not see the interest of getting the qc35 II but then at all
"you're not paying for the sound quality really, lets be honest" me: Yes "you're paying for the features" .... me: ....hahahahaHAhahaHAHAHhaahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHA *dies*
@@gcg8187 Wrong. Noise cancelling is on par with the Bose. Comfort wise, it's ONLY slightly less comfortable. The Bose is overpriced for what it offers against the competition.
When I try to connect mine to my mac computer it only tries to connect to my iPad. When I turn the iPad off the computer shows it is searching for the iPad and it refuses to give up the search. I have connected bluetooth Sennheiser and Sony with no problem. I contacted Bose and Apple. They gave me some suggestions. Nothing worked. I'm taking them to an Apple store so they can try to connect them to another mac to find out if it's my mac or the Bose QC 35 II.
Note: The buttons on the headphones WILL NOT WORK when in wired mode. Wired mode is needed for low latency. This means that when the wires are connected, the Noise cancellation turns on and you have no way to turn it off aside from turning off the headphones entirely, but this causes the quality of sound to go down significantly. These are heavily flawed headphones for its price.
I am planning to buy Bose Quiet Comfort 35 , wanted to know whether Noise cancellation works when headphones are connected via audio jack (Battery drain scenario)
I can get these for $279 or I can get the older QC35 for $249. Is it worth spending an extra $30 since I have iOS ? Seems like I wouldn’t really use the GA feature or it won’t work right on an iPhone ?
The Q35's are great headphones, however, it's really hard to take phone calls on them in noisy or event slightly noisy environments. The microphone picks up all background sound and makes it hard for the person you've called to hear you.
Okay, so basically you guys don't test adequately! I have these and I can hear all the background noises while on call, amplified and fed back to me on the call. Bose acknowledges this but doesn't give any support. I mean, they may not be sure when will a person start speaking which is why they have kept the microphone always ON. Flaw in the design though.
could you plz check if your headphones have distinctively better sound in terms of quality and volume levels if connected over wire compared to the Bluetooth connection. I am not sure if mine are defective or the qc 35ii just works that way. the volume level is like half of the level when I connect them with wire directly to my phone or laptop. and the sound over bluetooth feels muddy a bit. the sound over wire is just perfect. full, bassy and crip. thanks for your time.
I have the pixel 2 and for the longest time I debated whether I should get the first gen or second of the quietcomfort 35's and decided to go with the first since the only difference was the Google assistant and I figured that when I hold the pause and play button it activates my Google Assistant and I could ask it whatever I want it to. Is there still a difference between the first gen and second of the quietcomfort in that way?
These are definitely not HI FI but what really disappointed me is just how they fail on a plane. And, for me, this is why I bought them. If you fly a lot, you want active noise canceling phones. The problem with Bose is the way they distort on takeoffs. There is a loud popping sound that I’m guessing is from low frequency overload. It will damage your hearing and possibly the phones if you don’t leave them off until after takeoff when the engines are not creating as much noise. But if you love true high fidelity sound, for much less money, a pair of IEM’s from Westone or Shure, (which are two of my favorite makers of seriously good sounding in ears phones) might be the way to go.
Wall Street Journal compared ANC on multiple headphones including these with dB values. The Bose QC35 reduced the noise by 20.5 dB www.doneo.com.mt/services/files/image/News/Bose/bosewsjc.jpg
The audio jack on the QC 35 II is 2.5mm, not 3.5mm You need to use the included cable (or an equivalent 2.5mm - 3.5mm cable) Lots of headphone manufacturers do this, and it really annoys me.
True and kind of a bad since you need a special cable (2.5 on one end and 3.5 on the other. ALSO and worse is that when connected wired (like in an airplane) the ANC is non-functional. WHY?
I still get bass rattle on some songs. I wish they were a bit louder and the highs a bit higher... wish for better sound quality. Bowers & Wilkins PX is a better sound but, they are not comfortable. I returned the B&W and kept the QC35II. I’d rather have better sound quality and less features

But got these with watching films in mind and I cannot connect them to ps4 and cannot seem to find a viable blutooth transmitter for my tv which supports the AAC/SBC. MIght have to return them to find a pair of earphones that connects without the worry of lag...
Connect them using the aux cable provided to the ps4 controller. There is no way to connect them via Bluetooth. You can turn them on to still have good sound and anc while using them with the ps4.
I'm buying these 4 years after release for a price of 150 dollars, the QC45's for 350 bucks just didn't have enough upgrades to convince me to pay 200 dollars extra
Go with the 1000xm2. You get more bang for your premium price and they have more room for future updates because of all their features. Bose sound quality is known to be less dynamic. The biggest turn off for me with the bose is they still use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack. Who still does that? Most headphones nowadays use the regular 3.5mm to 3.5mm jacks that are more easily replaceable.
the ONLY thing that I do not like about these is that there is absolutely NO bass to these. if you dont care about feeling the bass, then these are for you. amazing ANC and comfort and extremely light.

Crack that headband tho

does noise canceling work while using a wire or just when is wireless
how does these hold up in 2021?

The ANC on/off demo did not show how good the ANC really is ... if you own a set you know this is true ✅

Picked mine up last week for 280.. Loving them.. Bose's comfort is a tad better, but the sound is just superior.. So I picked sony's
the ONLY thing that I do not like about these is that there is absolutely NO bass to these. if you dont care about feeling the bass, then these are for you. amazing ANC and comfort and extremely light.
The bass is there but only when it appears in the music. It's not booming bass that destroys vocals.
Is it true that when pairing with a TV they have audio lag?
great presentation, tyvm.
