Ya'll need to get some soundproofing in the studio so I don't have a fucking panic attack every time I hear sirens while watching an episode!!!! FUCK!😡😂
This guy is so amazing... once, i think in 98, I had 14 years old and i saw him at a vert contest in Rio and I remember saying to myself: one day I will tell my sons that i saw this guy doing incredible things on a skateboard. Than, this year i was with my 3 year old son at Praça do Ó, in Rio, the same spot I saw him back in 98. My eyes got all wet remembering this story and I asked him for a picture with me and my boy and he did it with a nice smile on the face. Now I have this picture framed and one day my son will understand why he saw his father cry that night. Bob is my biggest idol, not only because his incredible skills on a board, but especially because he is a great human being. Thank you guys for almost 4 hours of intense historys!
Burnquist is undeniably one of the greatest ever. Absolute switch-god, freaking tech-master and gnarlier than 99% of the globe. Constantly innovating, constantly progressing, an absolute all-around talent.
Mind blown. Thank you Nine Club for bringing these idols, icons and historical people to us in addition to the present day skaters of course! I was not skateboarding for a good 20+ years, now been back at it for a couple of years and it's been amazing learning all kinds of tidbits about the scene (that we didn't have much in the small village I lived in as a kid), put together the timeline and podcasts like yours and Hawk vs. Wolf for eg. are such essential listening for that!
One of the best episodes you guys have made. Sometimes the episodes of your favorite skaters end up being a little disappointing but not with Bob, I could've listened him for another 3 hours. Such a humble guy and even with all the recognition he's getting I'd say he's still underrated for what he's done.
Its funny he talks about plant based medicine which i do agree with. Like weed and maybe psilocybin for depression and the other plants he talks about idk ive never tried them or heard about them but i wonder if people realize that opiates are plant based too. They come from the poppy plant but theyre just super refined and the potency is driven up just like hash and wax and dabs for weed. Same goes for cocaine which comes from the coca plant. People just need to realize that theres bad plants out there too and addiction is addiction. Just because it comes from the earth doesnt mean it cant fuck your life up. I guess theres just things that are easier to get off then others.

It’s so cool getting to know these people that I’ve grown up with in magazines and watching on videos but never really knowing much about them other than they love skateboarding and they rip. This is the best episode. I've had so much respect for Bob for so long and it's cool to watch these guys interview a pro who's really in a different realm of skating. This is one of those interviews, like the Danny Way one, where it's great to watch these guys freak out about how gnarly this dude is.
