I really like Egg, he's my favorite youtuber/twitch streamer. I usually don't comment, I just consume content; but today I will make an exception for some more extra positivity.
(I work full time, so I don't usually watch series like sekiro, except maybe the first few episodes. But I watch every NLSS while playing games myself, and sometimes the latest episode of isaac or slay the spire for comfort. I don't usually watch for the games, but for the witty stream of conscious that is Egg daddy.)

Yeah but remembering how he was fighting his egg brand years ago and now embracing it shows that rather insulting first comments can lead to good things :P You just have to embrace the meme sometimes (e.g. the ichi in sekiro :P). Also NL is my first youtuber/streamer I ever watched so i will always hate him for those thousands of hours of free entertainment he gifted to me :)
@@BlueSkyleaf Yeah but especially with this community when he gives us an Inch people take a mile, so many problems in the past where people think they're just joking around but end up going too far on this channel. You even brought up an example yourself with Sekiro, joking is fine but just because others are doing something doesn't mean you gotta pile on.
Not saying you do that personally just keep it in mind and stay responsible for your own actions, it'll always be a human on the other side of the screen.
It was probably the most "real" video on the channel... literally just talking about their problems in their job

Honestly if I had to read comments directed at me in the style of some of the comments that NL gets daily on his StS videos I would go insane. Big ups to eggman for persistently putting out some really fun content despite all the comment section jackasses out there.
I hope for NL's personal well being that he doesn't read the comments on those videos. Even if you're doing as he says and trying to find the real criticism in the rude comments, it's still gonna wear away at you over time IMO

Hey ryan, i loved some of the honesty in this video. I cant imagine some of the stress this job creates, but you really have helped a lot of people through some rough times, including myself. Thanks for being a good dude and not letting the toxic people get you down too much.
Oh man can't even imagine all the stress sitting on your computer playing video games and talking would be on a person. He doesn't even edit videos and gets paid more than most people who have actual physically or mentally demanding jobs. No one forces him to read comments, which mind you are 99% positive and the ones that aren't he could ignore and go about his day just like that. Waaah waaaaah very hard job when you can literally choose when you work and make your own schedule, and anytime he likes he can choose to take a break for some days if the job is really too much to handle.

I normally don't comment on vids, but I've been watching you for almost a decade by now and subscribed on twitch for the past 2 years. Even if it gets to you sometimes NL, I appreciate all you do and your work ethic that's stayed consistently impressive through all this time. You're a great youtuber and content creator, and I hope you keep on being the same witty and engaging entertainer you are for many years to come. While I might not watch every video or stream, I can't remember a time that you weren't enjoyable when I did manage to catch one. You're doing great, Ryan. Keep it up!

NL my dude, you've done a lot for me growing up without you realizing, so just want you to know that i appreciate the effort you put in to your job, you guys like to say you are lucky, but honestly you put in a lot more work than necessary, so just letting you know it gets noticed
It was really enjoyable to hear your perspective. As a long time veiwer i must confess that sometimes ill do some of the things you mentioned in the video, without any malicious intent, just cause i want you to do good, without realising that you are an actual adult, who can take care of himself and might have his own reasons for doing things a certain way. I remember when Hafu was slowly getting in on the nlss i was one of the people who was yelling at you at reddit for being rude and that you were ignoring her(basicaly i was treating you like you are my child). Than i got shot down by another more inteligent user, and i realised; " Dude, you are not his mother! Let the guy have his way and just enjoy the show!". Anyways i'm glad that you exist and provide the entertainment, which ill probably always watch, and i respect the fact that you genuinly understand your audience.
It's really nice to hear serious Ryan for a little bit. I know for a fact that I can get a bit frustrated with your gameplay sometimes and that might turn my comments toxic every now and then. However I really appreciate all the entertainment you put out. It's a fairly big part of my daily routine and it always makes me happy to see a new video pop up in my feed. Ill try to keep my comments less toxic and I'm looking forward to the last Descenders episode!

Lurker here but big fan for 7, 8 years. I've kinda grown up with watching NL, and now that I'm graduating high school I still enjoy watching NL and really appreciate what he puts out there. It was great to hear all this, it definitely humanizes NL and reveals the struggles of the job. Deep conversation is really engaging. Keep up the great work, you'll always be a great source of comfort, entertainment, and joy!

Great banter. Love the honesty. Some people don't seem to understand the point of your channel. To me, your channel is 70% commentary, 30% gameplay. Even if the gameplay doesn't go well, the commentary is always great.
I moved away from home for school and ended up living by myself. Over the last year I would put on NL's content throughout the day to listen to and keep my company while I cooked, cleaned, worked or really whenever I was at home.

The banter in this video was superb. All I watch the videos for is the banter. Could not care less what you play. The more fun you guys are having the better the banter.
I think there's a really big silent majority that sort of just loves the content, and watches all of you guys for you. I didn’t know how mathas felt about the Muck Fathus memes. I thought everyone knew it was a meme. But if some people are toxic about it. Then I will probably not use that meme in respect for Mathas. I really like all of the crew.
Honestly, I never used it in the first place. I always felt it had too much potential to turn toxic, just like they describe. 'Sides, Mathas is a pretty cool dude, and I love watching videos with him in it.

Really liked this "therapy" session style video, really cool to hear about how you guys cope and keep the laughs going. As a performer myself I feel like one of the biggest things for us is mentality and confidence, as soon as my confidence is a little shaky I start singing shakily and playing guitar subpar. (That's what I do.) I've been watching you since 2011 Isaac and you're one of the only people I watch on TH-cam and Twitch anymore (besides the greater NLSS crew) so thank you for years of entertainment, I really hope there are many more!

This was a fantastic video. I don't recall ever commenting on a TH-cam video, but I'm in chat pretty regularly, and I just wanted to comment on this video given what NL, Dan, and Mathas were saying. You put out great content, and I think the best content is when you're just having fun with whatever you want to actually play. I personally may have asked for Smash 1 too many times, so sorry if that contributed to this crisis. Keep up the incredible content, and have fun getting away from the internet for a while

I don't know if any of you guys actually read the TH-cam comments but I love you all. Northernlion and all his friends or the content creators that are associated are close to the only media I will consume anymore. Love when you come together in the NLSS or Unity or with you three guys and play new games or old ones. I don't have a lot of friends and I feel like you are all my friends even though I've never met any of you. The dynamics of your groups are top notch and you may not have saved my life but you have definitely given me some happiness when I may have needed it the most. I'm seeing a lot of "hey ryan" in the comments, so I guess I might as well add on.
Many years ago I started watching your Isaac content after looking for more of what seemed like a cool game when pewdiepie played it for an episode. I've grown a lot in between then and now, changed a lot of preferences, changed jobs, lived, loved, lost, grown, changed styles, bought a house and changed circles of friends. Been in some dark places and crawled right back out of them.
But the whole time, I've basically watched this channel every single day. I truly find the witty banter between the NLSS crew, and the solo stuff alike, to be so entertaining. The best references, the best jokes. I honestly draw such a close comparison between my upbringing and attitude and sense of humor with you. I don't know if I can say that you "changed my life", but I can definitively say you've lightened it. You're the fucking man NL and we're all lucky to have you doing what you do.
I've reread what I just wrote and wanted to clarify that I am a straight male, but I do completely plutonically love ya, man.
Don't mean to stan all over you though, I don't need an autograph for my daughter on a starter cap or anything. Just wanted to let you, one of the biggest influences in my life, to know how appreciated you are.

Started watching Isaac on the bus rides to school to avoid being bullied. caught the first couple dark souls streams and still go back and watch them sometimes. Genuinely love the recent Episodes where NL talks about real shit. It's nice to see the soft side of the streamer we all know and love. As the jokester of my friend group and who usually finds myself on the butt end of jokes I really hits home when he talks about toxcisity and memes taken too far. It's all fun and games until you accidentally upset someone. Great stuff, man
The thing your talking about is a medical condition called simulation sickness. It was first observed when the airforce started using flight Sims to train fighter piolets. Lucky for you they did actually figure out ways to inoculate yourself to the symptoms.

It was like PUBG had only left for a week. The banter and hijinks were S-tier but the majority of chat was just upset about there not being Terraria even one of his moderators made it clear he was bored about the show.
it was pretty saddening to see that people were upset with them taking a break for just one week from terraria considering that they were probably burned out from playing the game.
14:32 Mathas raises an interesting question, because personally I love when chat doesn't tell Ryan or other streamers what to do, and I find it more fun to watch them figure it out on their own. That's why minecraft was pretty ideal for Unity.
Sure, but the problem is that people want to see them complete games as well.
I remeber that day they played PUBG instead of terraria, I find PUBG insanely boring no matter who plays it, even though NL is the most tolerable to me cause he is very entertaining, I simply wished them fun in chat and left the stream as a normal person would. Staying to spam Residents does nothing but aggravate everyone, and really why would I aggravate someone I find to be a nice person.

One thing I will always love about NL (and the rest of the NLSS I suppose) is how you interact with your community. Tbh a lot of other let’s play channels I watch are total dicks to their audience and pay 0 attention to twitch chat. They’ll fight memes but you embrace twitch chat.
