Don't forget about the album that Justin and John put out...BLUEJAYS.... which is another great album in which the songs were incorporated into the Moody Blues repertoire while they were on a 5 year hiatus. I heard it, by accident, while I was rummaging around going through albums in Rolling Stones Record Store in Norridge, Ill and heard this playing. It sounded like the Moody Blues and I asked the clerk who's album it was. He said it just came out and was just Justin Hayward and John Lodge of the Moody Blues. I instantly bought it and went home and listened to it, through my headphones over and over again. Still have the album today and still play it relentlessly. This came out before Seventh Sojourn and is one my favorites.
🐦 🐦 I listen to "The Blue Jays", from 1975, currently. I still enjoy it much. 🎶 👍 I'm glad "Blue Guitar" was included as the last track, on the CD version of "The Blue Jays" Great song!
I WOULD NOT SAY THAT THEY ARE THE BEST BUT I WOULD SAY THAT THEY ARE EQUAL TO BANDS LIKE THE DOORS, JANIS JOPLIN, JEFFERSON STARSHIP AND EVEN LED ZEPPELIN❤❤❤❤❤
Too true, the words talk of life and all of its many truths and faces. That is true of ALL of their music. You want Joy? introspection? Pain?, Love? it is all there.
Also loved Sam the Sham in NAM 67-69 and that insane DJ ON Radio GI He played a few Brit and German Prog Rock bands too,i remember Pink Floyd,Animals,Who,Spacerockers Hawkwind,Tangarine Dream,Stones,Memories!!!
I was in the navy, stationed in Idaho an odd place for a navy base my nuclear training prototype was in the desert out side of Idaho falls no was agood time in my life one captains mast brought on by stupidity on my part.
This Masterpiece us written 47 yes ago for today ears to hear. The Moody Blues, Mystics of the 60's. Thank you Guys for all the love and guidance I've found in your words, Luv you All !!! Ray & Graham, we'll all be home soon !!!!
"Love (God, for God IS Love) will find them in the end. Come on, my friend, we've got to bend, on our knees and say a prayer." How did so many miss the spiritual meanings in SO many Moody songs? I did, for years, until I finally realized the intended message and that I had indeed received it. Decades later, I was able to ask John Lodge - while attending a wine party at an On The Blue Cruise - about their use of double entendres, and at that point it was so obvious that it was merely a happy confirmation. I was "Saved By the Music."
New Horizons would put me to sleep when I was young, Loved this album. Was my relaxation after listening to foghat, led zep, black sabboth it always gave me closure for the day..62years old and still dream on when I play this album...
WOW!! I was a senior in high school when this was released! My buddy Earl's sister had Moody's entire discography! Music and pingpong down in Earl's recreation room for hours!!🎵🎶🏓☺✌My God! What a great time to be young and enjoying life!!❤🙏
Seventh Sojourn along with To Our Children’s Children’s Children are my favorite Moody Blues albums. I saw them 4 times starting in 1996 with a symphony orchestra. I saw Justin Hayward solo 3 times.
My Germany sound track from. 1970-73. My After NAM. Tour. Really great music 👍 the Moody Blues. Have just about every album the Made. How I felt after coming home from Vietnam and being rejected by Americans.
My first experience listening to the Moodies was after my oldest brother returned from a voluntary stint in the Army, including a tour in 'Nam with 1 CAV. When he was discharged, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour was still the new album on the street. When I graduated from High School in 1975, I enlisted in the USAF. Within two years, I had a full collection of The Classic Seven Moodies' albums. The Moodies provided the bulk of the soundtrack of my 20 years in the USAF.
Thank you for your service. Many people knew someone who just came back from Nam. I remember my boyfriend showing me a picture of his brother, who never made it back. Years later I was in the Navy and sent over to get ready for Desert Storm. I have always loved all the works of the Moody Blues.
This and Days of Future Passed are my two favorite Moody Blues albums. They were so different than anyone else that many of their peers did not consider them a "Rock" band and so refused to vote them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for over a decade. They are truly wonderous and provide me with stess relief when sorely needed.
I love you, Moody Blues since the 60s! I won a guitar with your signatures on it in 1998 in Lowell Massachusetts, and I treasure it dearly. My older brother turned me on to you when were young. He drowned in 1991 and I still listen to all your songs that he and I listened together, I love you!
65 yrs old and still listening to the Moody Blues since I saw them in concert in1972 at Madison Square Garden ! Close enough to see them up close. I'll never forget that. ❤❤❤️💥✌️
Seventh Sojourn holds a special meaning for me, giving me definition to being lost in a lost word then finding my own new horizons. Here I am still rockin' and stylin' and profilin' and loving it. Thank you Drew54. You are a piece of my future
I missed my chance to see them in '69. Saw the Iron Butterfly instead . If I knew then what I know now I would have volunteered to be their roadie ,even though I was only 16 at the time. !
because even God listens to music! the Moodies are 1 of a very rare group brought together by divine intervention. my funeral song is the full version of "Isnt Life Strange"
I agree, with Justin Hayward......what did they have? Justin is a great songwriter and guitarist. Plus his vocals. We don't really know what would have happened if they hadn't found Justin.
When Mike P left in 1978 in my considered opinion the Moodies lost an essential component member who had contributed a special something and from then on they were not so par excellent as they had been and they almost left the Album Charts.I still have ALL my Moodies Albums from 1967 -1978,Justin's,John and Graeme Edge Band Solo Albums too.
A song recorded 52 years ago that is prophetic in its words applies to today in 2024! This is why the Moodies have always been one of my top 20 bands since Days of Future Passed, 1967!
Thank you for posting these Masters, I owned all of their albums at one point, not sure who took them. So I truly appreciate you sharing my favorite group!❣🎶🌹
Lost in a lost world. Mike Pinder all over it. Great mellotron and keyboards with Mike's superb voice. What a great opening song for Seventh Sojourn. Song two has Justin at his best with Graeme adding beautiful drum rolls.
Ive always wanted Michael Pinder to reunite. He built soul into all he perfromers with them all. Ray Thomas so missed. Damn, we're all moving on, but the music moves with us.

'65 to '75 was such a magical 10 year period in the history of music .. i was fortunate enough to live through it ..
Me too
I was born right in the middle of that -- 1969. Best era (ever!) for pop / rock / soul!
It was simply an incredible period of time, and a little beyond, for music. I wonder if we will every see it's like again?
I'm with you!

I saw them 2 times. Shivers up my spine. i won a guitar with their signatures in Lowell Massachusetts in 1998. I treasure it for sure,
Ditto, and I'd put 'Threshold of a Dream' right up there as well.
I think For My Lady is my Favorite. Love the Maritime theme. New Horizons next... All in all... it's a great lp and One of my All-time Favorites

It's a shame they were instructed never to say the words God or Jesus because it is obvious that is what they wanted to say !!!!
