Thank you for this playthrough, I had no idea about this game. Do you think there is good replayability? I love the streamlined rules (which means it will get to the table often), but I'm worried I'll see what I need to see from the game after 5, 6, 7 plays.
I've watched this playthrough twice. I'm so drawn in by the excellent worldbuilding - the buoy dice, the clean production, the 100+ fish cards. I'm just worried that I've fallen in love with the idea of the game, not the actual game (if you catch my drift). I've experienced many a buyer's remorse because I've neglected the game design in pursuit of aesthetics.
To taking tons? No, there are plenty of ways of getting rid of regrets (although they do need to come up at the right time) and unless you're really going for fair fish it's massively helpful to get some madness for more dice if nothing else, then try to get rid of some at the end to avoid the big penalty. Marty got lucky that he could lose a worthless fish at the end, and I should have gone for some regrets rather than none seeing as a player going for tons means there's no risk to you. A lot of effects give everyone regrets too
We've only played 3 player outside of this unusually (the game arrived a bit late, and right before game night with a friend!) but I think so! There's potential for the trophy punishment to not be as much of a risk at 2 (see what one of the players does in the playthrough actually) because you're losing your least valuable fish rather than most, but at the same time you're giving up a trophy slot to do that and if you don't end up with the most regrets it could lose you the game
I think it’s harder, and probably not a good idea in 2 player games because you’re giving the other player license to get a ton with no extra punishment - I should have seen Marty was already in deep and could have gone for quite a few and still not got punished
I have to admit that you playing a 2 player game instead of solo is quite a redish flag. I've seen the solo rules video from the campaign and there are several things that are not used and I am not sure if the solo mode would be good enough. Have you played it?
Why’s it a red flag? I do a lot more solo these days but I’ve done tons of 2 player playthroughs too. Since they’re so different and it’s the only playthrough right now I just wanted to show off the main mode The prototype got to me quite late so I haven’t played solo yet but I’ll be doing a stream in the next couple of weeks, you’re surveying for fish, it sounds cool 🙂
@@slickerdrips It was early in the morning. Probably I was more grumpy than needed 😅 You are my reference channel for solo, so (even knowing that you do 2P playthroughs) the lack of solo videos in the campaign was a bit of a downer.
Loved the playthrough and really dig the art style and decision making in this game. Excited to see your upcoming solo playthrough. Thanks for this!
I backed this today I was already highly anticipating it!! So excited to see this upload
Looks like a lot of fun. I love the artwork and theme as well.
Amazing playthrough with some epic twists and turns! Thank so much, Tom!
Glad you enjoyed it! Who'd have thought staying so sane could cost so much :D
@@slickerdrips That'll teach you to be neurotypical!
Video was great, the gameplay has me hooked😏 I can’t wait to play this game!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
This game seriously looks fantastic and I am confident it will play just as well, very easy back for me!
I have no interest in fishing but this looks like a good game? Very tempted to back.
At 33:00 shouldn’t you have kept the die because of your bone wheel?

Love the plaktrought. btw. Where did you buy the playmat? beautiful colour.
this looks kinda like dreaded the fishing game on the nintendo switch
This looks great!
what if you haven't mounted fish and have the most regrets at the end of the game?
I don’t think you lose anything in that case but there are big points to be had for mounting them
Do you feel like you get railroaded into the regrets strategy? Im worried this game will play out the same way each time

Great playthrough! Do you recommend this at 2 player?

Is fair fish and no regrets an actual strategy ? This video make it look like it’s not really a good idea. The game look interesting still i

the game looks very good
Lord I thought this was a ‘I can’t believe I’m making this video’ video. Tom has deep regrets…. Thank goodness it’s a game!

No worries, it's on the way :)
I swear i heard the player with the nost foul points had to get rid of their best reward, so the 6x3.
That’s true for 3 and 4 players, for 2 it’s the lowest value mounted fish
Beautiful game but the gameplay looks pretty uninspired
