Bro, you upload so consistently and with so much passion for almost a decade. I'm positive you'll get the recognition (=views) you deserve eventually. Regardless, what you have been doing for our hobby is priceless. Keep it up my man. Cheers from Brazil.
I love that this game is basically someone from Spain who played Lisboa and was like "hey me too!" Lisboa is my favorite game so I'm not complaining. This looks great.
This is a dense game! I was a bit hesitant to pick this up and bought Windmill Valley instead. Now, I'm working back and may get this one. There's probably a ton of bling that could be added to this.
I love to see the trend towards an industry standard for iconography in boardgames. It makes life better for graphic designers, players AND publishers across the board (pun intended).
At 35:40, I was thrilled to see that you placed your narrow street tile exactly where I was hoping you would, as it not only earned you 3 points but also made it possible for you to have access to any row or column of your choosing for your next tram action.
This game came across my radar this week, for a great price. It turns out that it was many people's favorite game for 2023. I'm also a sucker for city / tableau building + tile / card placement games, so this is right up my alley. It also seems like an AP nightmare early game, and with an endgame of picking the least bad option that gives other players points. So interactive!
Thank you for doing what you do. You’re very, very good at it! Barcelona might be one of my few big game buys this year. It looks very smooth, and the scoring seems to accelerate in a satisfying way.
Jon, thank you for the great video! Your play throughs and teaches are so easy to follow. I always get a better understanding of the way a game is played when you showcase it. This game looks really fun and it's by far the prettiest Board and Dice release so far. No offense to one of my favorite games, Teotihuacan.
It's a very interesting game with some really nice combotastic turns, but I'd want to play it a couple of times to see if its really something I'd want to buy, I think.
Seems like another hit for Board & Dice and another great video by you John. Thanks ! Interesting game ! It looks like the scoring is going to be tight.
Do not know, if this is too much combo and combo and combo game for me. I never liked too long chaining actions. And this tram action to get an tram action to get an tram action and do the other action before. So maybe 5 actions per turn with go up there and point, get this, go up there, point and again. A little much chaining. Maybe it plays better that it looks.
Is it just me or is this game a pleasant combo of euro and abstract? The main city just seems so much like it could play as its own abstract game and idk if i can think of a similar combo off the top of my head. Great play through/teach.
Ha, yeah looks like I had a brain far there. Thanks for pointing it out, I don't think it makes sense to add a correction about it though since it's pretty clear in the video what the numbers are.
Hey Jon, do you also think that there is the first player disadvantage while playing? You cannot build anything on your first turn + the game could end somehow as the 2nd player and the first player cannot act anymore.
Hi Jon, I am not a native English speaker, Sometimes it’s a bit hard to follow everything you are sharing. I clicked CC but no subtitles shows. Have no idea what happened. Would you mind adding the auto caption in your video? That would be helpful to fans like me. Thanks!
I don't know why auto-captioning doesn't work sometimes. I don't appear to have control over this, I have looked in the past and there doesn't seem to be any consistency between videos that have it and ones that dont.

CORRECTIONS:
22:13 - We accidentally took 3 points instead of 2.

Thanks for the kind words :)

Nice clear and thorough description.

super interesting how moves combo into more moves and more moves, and scoring just flows like crazy

Wonderful, best play through I’ve seen of this game, beautifully done
I pre-ordered this game and I can’t wait to get it. Thank you for the clear and concise explanation of the game.
No problem, I hope you enjoy the game :)
Thanks for teaching this one!

Really good play-thru. Looks like an interesting game.

Just played this on Tues. This playthrough was extremely helpful. We loved it!

Thanks for another great teaching video, Jon - I (and two of my friends) have just bought a copy after watching it.
I hope you all enjoy it :)

Thanks!
Thank you!
Great vid! now I know how to play Barcelona!! :)
Well done...👍🏻👍🏻
building Barcelona reminds me other game => rebuilding Lisboa :)
At 22:13 you gave yourself 1 extra point.
That was some pretty slick cheating! And immediately got 5 more points, so no one will ever suspect.
Ha, whoops!
20:11 - little thing but you said 1 and 3 and 1 and 4, when it should have been 2 and 3 and 2 and 4.

Эта игра языконезависимая или нет?

Honestly, it's been so long since I've played that I can't comment on things like this. I hope that isn't the case though.
@@GettingGamesNever mind. Thanks anyway for your replay 👍🏼
