With Porsche making eFuels (Methanol) for our classics in the future - suddenly this all seems very relevant. I knew I was right to future proof my hot-rod's fuel system for e85 + fitting a flex-fuel sensor (running a MicroSquirt.)
So when you got to 80% Methanol I take it the sensor was reading 150HZ what was HZ reading when you went to 90% and 100%. I'm just wondering if there is any way to scale the table in the ECU so you can read upto 100% Methanol instead of only 80% 🤔 So for example if the sensor was showing 170HZ at 100% Methanol you could input that into flex fuel settings and it will be an accurate reading of Methanol % instead of Ethanol %.
Yes you can scale it to match the frequency in HZ that matches the 80% limit on methanol. I was going to get around to scaling it but ended up just testing it with the methanol scaling. Let me know if you try it and how it works for you . Thanks 🙏

That's exactly what I was thinking! I will be doing more testing soon
wich ratio would be the same as e85 power making wise
Your a legend thanks for your work
You're welcome! I'm glad it can help someone

How did the sensor cope with changes in fuel temperature?
It didn’t seems to cause any issues
What the part number of your flex sensor and does it reads methanol correctly? Mine once it detects any amount ofmethanol it goes 100%
might have missed it in the video, but did you mix clear gas with the methanol or E8 gas with methanol?
I mixed with both clear gas and 91 my other video on this show a bit more of the process
