I personally love warlord when he's calm and slow, it matches the "lord" part of the name. Like a battlefield general who's worked his way up but can still out fight younger boys and doesn't want to exert himself unnecessarily.
Always loved Warlord's personality as he shows the most respect to opponents and often offers them quick deaths... I remembered the one where he hammers the sword in with his shield but we're gonna ignore that one.
Yeah I really like it when he has this sense of being in control and a master swordsman despite being also hulkingly strong. His respectful one where he stabs you and then closes your eyes and pats your shoulder his this, "you're a good warrior and I respect you, but you never stood a chance" energy as he's so calm during the whole thing. I like ones like these where it's like, he is a surgeon his the sword and shield, but remember that at any point he can deck you into a flip.
@@Zayl1016 most the cast have their own feeling you know, orochi is cocky and likes to style , warden is dutiful and loyal, he doesn't care about honor or such just his duty, shaman....... yeah idk wtf is she about, these kinda things always make the game special to me
@@jacktheripper5112 I agree but one thing I like t hat adds to the flavor is you can kind of "create" a personality. Warden is pretty righteous (in the literal sense) but with certain emotes, signatures, and executions, you can make him a cocky tyrant. Valk has executions that show either a finesse or raw power with spear and shield and I have two different builds basically exemplifying the differences.
Felt way more like a black prior one to me. Which Is funny because i feel black priors lacks the edge it usally has. Maybey they got mixed up.

Honestly, just glad that they made unique executions again. The common executions got old SOOOO fast that they were all E tier.

I would have put wardens in A tier personally, i like executions where there is some resistance or fight back from the guy getting killed and the sound design is great. I would also put cent's in S tier solely on the noise it makes when he knees it into their throat.
It's also the first time Warden gets an execution that's like, "Stop resisting!" or "Don't TOUCH!" like Orochi, Valkyrie, and other heroes with that kind of execution.
I agree completely. I love animations in games where the person getting attacked/killed actually fights back or resists a decent amount before getting finished off.
Me personally I think Jorms is the best I just love how they use the weight and momentum of the swing to boost in the air than come down like thunder
Yeah, executions with some fight are generally pretty good. Makes the losing side look like they are at least competent. Some of the executions where the opponent goes from competent to 'Wuh?' in a heartbeat get pretty old, or at least are generally less "cool" or impactful imo. Prolly because jokes do get run down.
What irks me is that there’s no sound of the sword stabbing through both of the wrists.
I actually kinda think the opposite for gryphon's execution, I think the slowness on the hits show how heavy the blade is and adds to the impact. Too bad his moveset doesn't show that..
I mean, mostly. I think the heavy finishers look pretty great. If only he didn't one hand it like every time.

It takes 203000 steel to buy each new execution for anyone who's wondering.
This is why I think they need to either up steel gain or lower the cost for stuff.
I wanna main new characters but I never bother bc I can't make them look good without investing all my time in the game.

Np it only takes a couple weeks of off on play and trying to get your challenges done. Like 3 hours, about 5 or 6 days a week for two weeks.... np.
A small price to pay for customization
@@cwonincucumber1552 I just log on to do all the orders and then I wait a day or 2 for them to refresh and then I do it again, not much time invested and the steel still racks up

I personally enjoyed Shugoki's because when he goes to swing it, the way its animated actually makes his kanabo look heavy, and I love the way he uses momentum with the swing.
That’s because that one is like the first proper one to use proper technique for a kanabo. Granted it’s quite slow.
Cent's was the only one out of all of those that had me genuinely cringing at how brutal it is. I absolutely love the way he slowly pulls his gladius out of the victim's neck
if Jorm gets that head splat AND the cracked ground effect from Shugoki Smash, easily my favourite. till then, *DUTCH LOG TOSS FROM THE SCOTSMAN*

And they put Kensei and Tiandi in S. I get that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but here, imma have to disagree.
It was lacking imo, all the exe's that jorm has the crush the opponents head and this one, where it'd be the most fitting, they don't do it. A GIANT leaping hammer slam and it doesn't crush the head, that was the ruiner for me

i still think that warmommys execution is a reference to one of highlanders executions.
The warmommy execution reminds me of a see-saw with the way the sword moves
Yeah i think they didn't realize the hitting the blade part was to make the hilt hit the opponent in the face and knock them out which makes it a look cooler imo
@@vigil4270 exactly! At first, I thought as well it was a copy of highlander's. But upon seeing it again, the punch is used to push the sword all the way across the body, destroying organs and hitting the face with the guard.

Cent's new execution has such weird physics - why would the opponent's dead body just stand there waiting for him to remove his sword? It's a small thing maybe but I can't get past it. Reminds me of another of his where the opponent's arm just sticks out horizontally waiting for him to chop it off.
I was about to say that exact thing about the arm execution you mentioned but then i saw you talked about it in the same comment lmao
It's more or less the body slowly dieing and the muscle still tensed from fighting kinda like how even after your head is decapitated the body will still stand for like 3-5 seconds after

I really like Shugo's execution because of the new voice line but mainly because of that grunt at the start.

Did you take into consideration the camera play during some of them? It adds a lot IMO when the camera is dynamic during the movements like with LB, PK, and nobu's. I agree that Warmonger's is the worst, which is a shame. It kinda did a double whammy of being disappointing but also being a similar feel to her others. I like it when executions can 'establish' different sorts of personalities like Warden having honorable and dickish/cruel executions. Warmonger had a lot of cruel executions and with how regallious you can get her to look, I was hoping for a waywardly honorable execution.

Warden, Lawbringer, and Black Prior's executions were my favorites this time around. I think Warden and Lawnringer should've been in A tier.

Naw I found myself agreeing with most of it except warlords and mushas. Warlord had a good one that fit his experienced warrior motif, aramusha got a meh one tho.

Warmonger’s execution would’ve been much better f she didn’t try and do Highlander’s execution. Just a simple:

I'd suggest to take a look at raven knight's video, he analyzes these executions pretty well :) at first, I thought as well that warmommy was trying to do highlander's execution and failed, which looked odd, but that's not what she does. When she punches the sword, she isn't trying to slam it in the ground; she uses the punch to change the sword's angle, sending the hilt and the thicker part of the blade all the way up their opponent's face. That's why it's called "obliteration", because every bone and/or organ the opponent has gets cut and smashed by the sword. This consideration ranked hers very much higher in my opinion

I really liked conq's execution. Kicking someone's head off like a football is just the right kind of unrealistic execution, unlike all the magic stuff they've been doing. I think if we saw cent drive his gladius through the opponent's throat and then punch the head off so it goes rocketeering into the distance that'd be fuckin sick

There was a in game lore when kyoshin first came out that stated kyoshin's shearh has hidden blade around it. it was used to explain why and how one of kyoshin's default execution where he throws his scabbard right through enemy's throat.

When talking about Warmonger's, I' surprised you didn't mention that it looks like she tried to copy one of Highlander's other executions, but her sword was too short so she got mad at the awkward situation for the slam downward.
I absolutely LOVE the centurion execution, reminds me of "ryse son of rome" and I wanted an execution like that for him for a while

Warden's is really nice. The fingers curling around the grip before the final swing is perfection. Amazing from the opponent's perspective.
zhanhu's is d tier compared to the other executions the character has
Honestly just the existence of Graceful Expedient makes this new one kind of null. Not only is its kill time faster, it also heals more and just looks cooler. The only thing the new one does better is that its duration is shorter overall
I think there's bias here but glad's execution comes right after highlander's. The roar of the crowd is I think the 2nd best sound effect in the entire game (right after the little sound the enemy makes in the glad execution: wriggling victim)

With Kyoshin’s execution, if you pay very close attention/or record it and slow it down. The sword unsheathes a tiny bit for the hit along the throat. Thus, the slashing sound.
I personally would like to see black prior get a few quick executions for a faster approach and some better armors
For the Kyoshin execution, the reason his sword makes the slashing sound is because he unsheathed the sword abut half way at extremely anime levels speed them reseaths it
I'd put highlander lower just because the sword looks ridiculous in the air and when you interrupt him all logic goes with it

Warlord should be A. It's telling me that Warlord is kind of tired of war, a bit disappointed of the opponent's skills, and just finishes it in an efficient manner. Definitely cool enough to be an A tier.

I love it how most samurai executions are precise cuts on weak points and vikings and knights just hit you with the flat side of their weapon with the power of a truck😂
TBH my opinion is that warmongers is one of my favs slamming it into their stomach and hitting the tip of the black to slice up causing more damage then slamming it down on them more causing it to get a bit stuck on the ribs and just yanking it out is just so 😍
Shugo's time to kill may be extremely long, but it's PROPER Kanabo technique, and has so much weight behind it

Nobushi and Peacekeeper I’d arguably say have better ones. Highlander has a good execution, fits the character, but it’s just meh in the end for me. The camera work on Nobushi and Peacekeeper were great, the sound effects were perfect, and Peacekeeper especially had great choreography leading up to the kill, the little detail of her twisting the sword so when she swings the sword slices through the neck and the bashing the handle into the head to set up the stab? It just did too many things right. Brutal, quick, efficient. Her execution is imo is the best one.
I'd like to make point for JJ's execution
One of his default ones also has an fairly wonky head interaction, the head flys off long before the blade even begins the second slice, so it could be intentional for more comedic effect
I can't wait til The Northman Caelan Erikson is added to the game. The executions from The Hell-Forged Spear & The Glacius Ax are gon b epic.

Gladiator definitely holds my top spot, love hearing the crowd in my ears.
The clang from jj's makes sense. It's not a clean slice, not like a hot knife through butter anyway, and it's a heavy weapon. That's the same reason the opponent falls so hard.
I bet that Glad's execution of Shugoki would look hilarious
I want a Warlord execution where he just beats someone with repeated swift headbutts and finishes them off by stabbing them once.
I feel like Shaolin’s execution would be so cool on zhanhu, with a sword flip into decapitation. Come to think of it, id love it if a bunch of characters swapped executions, with each hero giving their own spin on the original. That would be so cool
I think they should give Warmonger an execution that's more on the brutally torturous side and makes use of her hands more, like maybe have her scratch the victim's throat open and pull out their windpipe or something.
I really liked the initial look of Shugoki’s new execution, the two massive HEAVY hits is something you could feel happening, alas I think the roll doesn’t fit with it and that it looks a bit too goofy, it be great if they where two separate executions.
It honestly fits. It was a thing to basically roll the kanabo out of the opponent if it ever got stuck. He’s just doing it really slow. If it was a more fast paced execution, it would have been perfection

some of the executions are changed like some of law and valk where some would take off the head and then the next week the execution name is changed and it doesn't take off the head
I bought the warden execution. I like the part where he gave the opponent time to look up at him before finishing them off. Very honourable.

Noooo dont complain about the head explosion, I love that it crushes without the pop, its so much more immersive, and therefore, satisfying. At least to me.
I remember back when lawbringer's pony rider execution just slashed their throat, it was so much better without decapitation
Bro it's okay for the kyoshin if it makes a slashing sound while the sword is sheathed. In his default execution the scabbard literally goes inside the head (which is like insanely impossible) and when interrupted is still alive
Fun fact the names of the executions either describe what is done or a move such. There is a video that better explains it then I do.
Gryphons would've been way cooler imo if the leg sweep cut the leg off or something. Especially since when you watch it it sure looks like the sharp part of the blade is what gets swung at em rather than the flat side.

when a ragdoll hits a ledge that goes off the playable map it will hit that invisible barrier, stop moving and flop, but if the ragdoll goes off a ledge that's still in the playable game area, there's no wall and the ragdoll with act normally, it shouldn't matter what caused the ragdoll
