Well historically Nobunaga had 3000 warriors to win this war and Yoshimoto had 25000. This battle was a surprise attack were nobunaga managed to charge Yoshimoto in from the sides of a canyon. The attack was so fluid that Yoshimoto thought a fight had broke out among his own warriors. He only realized he was being attacked as he was decapitated.

This battle reminded a lot of the Battle of Guan Du. Yoshimoto was the Yuan Shao of this battle since he got over confident in his numbers and he thought he'd win. However Nobunaga took a page of Cao Cao's book and outsmarted Yoshimoto and defeated him.
@@douglasoliveira-vx6ro I'd argue Nobunaga(historical figure; not Koei's version) was more ruthless than Cao Cao. It's funny how Imagawa Yoshimoto is portrayed in SW. His original portrait is actually intimidating, and the Kemari bit was his son's hobby. I really can't see a guy that looks and acts like he's portrayed in SW marrying Shingen's sister.
This series sadly leaves out the very real history behind the Imagawa, namely that Yoshimoto was a serious business. He was an existential threat to the Oda, which is what made the Oda's victory that much more impressive. Without his defeat and death at Okehazama, it's entirely possible that we could have seen an Imagawa Shogunate rather than a Tokugawa Shogunate. If you look at his stats for instance in the Nobunaga's Ambition games, you'll see this reflected in them. They really should bring back his Kessen design with a slight personality rework and just reserve the “Kemari Fool” schtick to his son Ujizane. That would work a lot better honestly.
I also think it's fitting because Imagawa's forces were pretty much partying. So, a sense of urgency with a kickass beat. I hate how Koei portrays Yoshimoto though, someone as inept as that would have been one of the most fearsome warlords of the era. Yoshimoto's defeat is what skyrocketed Nobunaga's reputation - He defeated THE Imagawa Yoshimoto with a much smaller army.
I still think it's odd that it took so long for a Dynasty Warriors-type title to come out that was actually based around Japanese history, since it was made by a Japanese developer (Koei) and all.
There is also a remix of this track for both Samurai Warriors Katana and 4-II. For the SW 4-II version, search for "Okehazama - Break -" and you will find it.
@IcedEarthaholic Because the direction Koei decided to take regarding the music for Samurai Warriors 3 was with more traditional instrumental influence. As opposed to Samurai Warriors 1's that had music comprised mostly of catchy techno-y beats and minimal use of traditional Japanese instruments. But I do agree with you, I LOVE this theme and hope if Samurai Warriors 3 Empires if ever made, this is included in it.

@DollBanger no dunce could've arranged a three way alliance like that, and also his attack on Owari was good stradegy, but he fell into a drunk state at Okehazama and he couldn't see in the fog
@GoGoSentai that is so true, I did notice the progression to more traditional Japanese instrumentation in the music as opposed to the catchy techno hooks that the first one comprised of. Still, to this day I say the first game had the best soundtrack, and hopefully if an SW3E is ever made, all the songs from SW are included.
@Kadaj158 After it started raining Nobunaga ambushed Imagawa using the mountain path so while Imagawa's troops were stuck and slowed down in the mud Nobunaga was able to ambush his camp. If it hadn't been for the rain, Imagawa would have defeated Oda.
@DollBanger He was'nt a total idiot. He just fell victim to what many commanders did and still do, arrogance. He thought the sheer numerical advantage he had meant he already won and became lax. And we all know how well that went :P
