Vele malen speelde Gert zijn improvisatie over het lied 'Heer U bent mijn leven' tijdens zijn concerten. Heel vaak op verzoek van de concertorganisatie.
Bijzonder is, dat iedere nieuwe versie die hij dan speelde, weer anders was dan de vorige.
Het is telkens een improvisatie op zijn eigen liedbewerking.

Al jaren lang heb ik genoten van het lied Heer U bent mijn leven.
Op heel veel van zijn concerten kwam het langs en inderdaad, iedere keer was het weer anders.😄
Yesterday at Nijverdal when Gert played this as an encore and I saw you recording, I wondered about the memories you've had of Gert's playing this piece for years, always different. God bless you and your family.

Well, there’s one question remains is not how long will it take for you to come to Europe but when! It’s to you mister van Hoef but I followed some of your vids but one is even better then the other one.
