I think I passed up picking the Angel of Death. And wish I had the experience to culture it. I have cultured one specimen from the wild indoor using the pf tech process for jars. I don't know about your invention but your expertise to grow wild mushrooms indoors is quite valuable. Locally I have had great wild mushroom harvests and enjoy the added nutrition to my diet. I would like to know more about substrate good for growing mushrooms. And maybe bulk culture methods. Thanks for this product, if I was more serious about cultivation of wild species I would be more interested but just as a home cultivator it could be quite useful. Thanks

That is opposed to working out in the field. Spore printing equipment or viles might serve helpful in order to culture wild specimens at home. Just the sterile 4 Oz jar with lid taped over two holes for spore syringe preparation as described in the pf tech pamphlet, or you might just use a clean plastic container with baggie full of printing caps on say aluminum foil. For say spore collection. Probably your invention might work well.

I hope you had/have a lot of success with this project. I fear your target audience of budding mycologists is too small a market but I hope you prove me wrong.

$800? "I hope to make this available to everyone, especially those on a budget just getting started", LMFAO! for less than half that price I can build a much better one myself. What a joke

The basic model is half that price, which is less that the cost of a typical HEPA filter. The $800 version runs on batteries and is made with custom-machined stainless steel covers. The assembly is considerably more complicated, and labor cost is factored in to the price. Assuming you have a setup to work with wood & metal, a spot welder and a soldering setup you could build one yourself for about $650. If you salvage the blower, buy off-brand filters and do all the work yourself, you could certainly save some money. After the Kickstarter, I'll be offering DIY kits at cost and making some how-to videos about the process if you want to try your hand at it!

@@_fungaia: Not everybody appreciates all the thought and hard work that went into creating this, But after a little while of working from nature, either dragging samples back to work with, only having to deal with the degradation in the sample quality upon returning, or try to work in the field, only to have to deal with contamination long enough, it will be very strange if they will not see the wisdom of having one of these, And come to see how much money and time it will save them at any price.
it is so strange how some people have no idea how much components of things cost. Sometimes it seems as though they expect a person to manufacture them out of pure imagination and nothing else.
No one likes to lose the research time and effort like that.
Anybody who has ever had to have anything fabricated, particularly a custom item, will not flinch in the slightest.
congratulations, sir, on this very significant achievement. It will be a game changer for many souls.
May this just be the first in a long line of awesome tools to take you on your dream journey!
And thank you for caring enough to put together these videos. They are so useful!

@@_fungaia one can make a 20"x20" BBFFU (Broke Boi Fan Filter Unit) for about $60. Works very well, is inexpensive, and super easy to construct.
