Augustow is lovely, we also travel there every season at least once! And forests around the city and between it and Bialystok is just amazing.
    Cheers from Warsaw :)

I spent some time in the Augustowska Jungle (Puszcza in Polish) it is absolutely stunning. I didn't want to leave that paradise. I remember those summer nights by the fire, fresh food straight from the fire pit, stars visible during the dark Jungle night... oh yes there sth magical in North-eastern Poland, if you've been there you may be able to sense it. That place heals literally....

We saw a lot of shooting stars in that night sky!
Magical place indeed, it was so relaxing to be there, to explore the forests, to go on the lakes and to take in the wonderful culture and very nice food, a truly unforgettable trip and I’m sure I will be back there one day!
I certainly felt healed spiritually by visiting 😊

Beautiful region. I've been in Augustów few years ago and I loved the water and nature everywhere. My Cocker Spaniel loved to swim chasing after a stick :)
This year I was in Suwałki (1 day) and Lithuania (2 days). Both recomended.
Thanks for an informative stuff and... tasty food which made me a bit hungry ;)

Oh there was a lot of good food there…though mainly we ate at the camp site 😅
Really beautiful area of Poland, nicest lakes I’ve seen so far 😁
Suwalki I will aim to go to next summer, hopefully we will organise a camping trip there so I can get some good hiking sessions in!

Thanks for the video. Augustow looks really nice and I obviously saw very little of it when I was there some thirty years ago. I remember arriving by train with a long walk to a rather nondescript flat in a block surounded by so many other similar blocks of flats! Maybe I should give it a second go some day?

I would say a lot would have changed in 30 years, a lot of the monuments and structures I saw (including the large pier) went up around 15 years ago, it’s clear a lot of development has gone into the city!
Though for me it was the natural side I appreciated the most, it was a great place to explore 😁

Precious video, finally it gives the Augustów area of Northern Podlachia (some people erroneously think that Augustów's lakes are still Masuria) the credit it deserves. I've been there more than once and I always felt uniquely relaxed during the stays. Augustów has a perfect combination of lakes and pine forests - accessible water to swim and good air to breathe (the pine needles produce healthy emissions of essential oils when heated by the sun). But... toasting marshmallows?? 😳

Toasting marshmallows is an essential camping activity for me 😜 it’s something that we are exposed to at a young age in the U.K. 😅
Thank you for the lovely comment and the added insight, it was such a beautiful and relaxing part of Poland to visit, I’ve often seen seen signs pointing to Augustów in Warsaw and now I finally can say I’ve been there 😁
I was thinking to cover Suwalki as well on this trip…though after a little research realised I would need a few days in this city to cover the hiking that would be so essential to explore the forests and lakes here also…so next year!

@@britinpoland2392 The area of Suwałki is one of Poland's most precious lake areas in terms of landscape, with its glacial (moraine) hills. The town of Sejny is also worth visiting, with a rich history associated with Poland's former Eastern Borderlands. Another interesting aspect - the northeastern tip of the region has a sizable Lithuanian minority, its cultural centre is Puńsk (Lithuanian: Punskas).

I believe that you should be able to get there quite easy now as there is an airport at Olsztyn. I do not know where the flights go to but it should open up that whole area more.@@benwars9524

Ławeczka Beaty z Albatrosa? Oryginalny pomysł. Z Augustowem kojarzy mi się głównie utwór th-cam.com/video/QTCBVwwVbqY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xIyn5JzOTknwbMrv

Yes, the bench I believe is pretty recent compared to the song, with the restaurant next to it 😊
We even heard some men singing it on the street while we were there 😁

@@britinpoland2392 btw. did you know that even songs in communist-era films that were written as a mockery of popular musical trends (but by professional composers) are still popular and better than contemporary Polish pop-music?
